Thermal Scanners

One resource you may want to reach out to is a forum for night-vision related matters.  The best I've found, bar none, is www.nightvisionforumuk.com.  The folks there really know thermal imagers and all things related to them.

One person who posts there, Bruce, aka "phoenix", is the Yoda of thermal imagers. Akin the E.F. Hutton commercial of yore, when he speaks, people listen.

I bought a DVR from Amazon and used a USB power pack to power it.

@SasquatchPA, thanks for your detailed and informative post.

How has the ClearClick DVR performed?  I am curious about how much memory it holds and could it record 8 or 24 hours continuously with external power?

I noticed that you used a USB port to power it, but am curious about its battery life without external power source.

I am looking for a new DVR to replace an old one that has battery issues and one that will be more robust.

It appears that there are not too many options available.

Only saw a couple of DVR's beings sold in Amazon for connecting to old Video Cameras with RCA jack.

The Clear Click (that you own) with good reviews and the DigitNow one with poor reviews.

Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't recorded for hours at one go. I usually only record in lengths no longer than 10 minutes at a time. I will measure the current draw out of the battery and that will be indicative of battery life. I ordered mine from Amazon and it has given me no issues.
