bipedalist Posted November 2, 2011 BFF Patron Share Posted November 2, 2011 Dr. Matthew Johnson described the BF he saw as being over 8' tall. He said it dwarfed him and he's 6'9". He gives one of the most compelling eye witness accounts I've ever heard. He actually suffered from PTSD after his encounter. And, now he's helping others with PTSD after their's, I understand. VAfooter Posted November 2, 2011 Admin Share Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) Here is a Georgia report about an encounter with 10.5 foot tall BF. Also a cool drawing depicting the encounter. Not a 15'er, but plenty big nonetheless. http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=2218 Edited November 2, 2011 by VAfooter
Guest Kerchak
I think I remember a report of one that was 16 feet tall, but have no idea where I saw it. But you have to remember that folks in that situation, especially if scared or nervous, may be prone to overestimating the height. You might be thinking of the Big Horn Dam sighting from 1969. This was in Alberta, Canada. A party of 5 workers apparently observed a creature on 2 legs in the distance on a hillside. Later a couple of the workers walked over to the spot and when they came back they were shocked to hear that their height only seemed to be little more than about 1/3 of the height of the allegedly observed creature, putting the creature at about 15ft. Guest
And, now he's helping others with PTSD after their's, I understand. Yeah, I think you're right. He really is a great witness. The clip I've seen of him recounting his encounter is very moving. He relives it and can barely contain the fear, tearing up throughout the interview. He saw something that day that changed his life. There's no question about that.
Guest Biggie
VA I noticed it's sporting some abs in that picture too as was discussed recently in the bf statue thread. Sad to hear that rw. I've seen several reports of people traumatized after their bf encounter. I tend to believe it would be rather hard to get PTSD from something that doesn't exist. Guest
Has anyone ever heard anything from the other Family Members present for that Encounter does anyone know ?? Just curious. Bobby O, I'm pretty sure if I remember correctly from his radio interviews at that time, that no one in his family saw anything. I think he was answering nature's call, saw the BF watching his family and quickly escorted them out of the area.

Guest
I like the 1975 US Army Corp of Engineers publication in the Washington State Atlas describing Sasquatch in great detail as 8-12 feet tall, up to 1000 lbs with tracks up to 24 inches long and 10 inches wide...... steenburg
I have written about this before but it seems appropriate to mention on this thread. Most have heard of the five workmen whom claimed to have seen a 15 foot creature watching them from a high river bank cliff as they were working on the pumping station for the new Big Horn Dam being constructed in Alberta near the small town of Nordegg in 1969. Many thought and I did for a time as well, assume that they must have just overestimated the height of what they were looking at. But it is interesting to know that in this part of Alberta from 1948 to 1984 there were several reports of extremely tall creatures in the Alberta Rockie mountains all occurring within a 100 mile circle of the town of Nordegg. Ronald Gummel of Calgary claimed to have seen two 12 foot creatures cross highway 11 in front of his car in 1973. and there were others. reports of normal 7 to 8 foot creatures were reported as well in this area during this period of time but I always thought it was interesting that all of these over estimates occurred in the same general area. Even more interesting that as of 1984 they seemed to have stopped but reports of 7 to 8 foot creatures continued. Why, Your guess is as good as mine. Guest StankApe
12 foot tall just seems to be difficult to believe. It would seem impossible for a 12 foot , one ton animal to escape detection. 8 foot 5-700 lbs is one thing, but 12 feet! thats 2 feet higher than an NBA basketball hoop! That's tall. Not to mention that in the heat of the moment, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to discover that the height was unintentionally exaggerated! Meanwhile what is considered normal height estimates continue? Thomas Steenburg
Xion Comrade
The biggest report I have ever read estimated a height of 16 feet, which is incomprehensibly huge(Imagine 2 feet taller than a Tractor-Trailer!) Most super-tall reports put the height at 12 feet. And the tallest report I have ever heard that had evidence to back it up was pushing 12 feet tall by the estimation of the witness(It was standing near a abandoned trailer home I think). It had left some footprints, pretty good ones, at around 25 or 26 inches if I am not mistaken....It was over 22 inches anyway(To lazy to look it up lol)...But regardless using ratios from other very supportive sightings/evidence combos, and in particular that of "Patty", I calculated the height to be just around 12 feet...Only a few months after this did I get the witnesses estimation of the big guys height. Pretty interesting to say the least. Massive massive creature. I would have to see it to believe it.

I didn't know there was a history of extra tall sightings from the 1940s to the 1980s there in the same general area, then they stopped. Thanks for posting that. Hmmmmmmmmm. Edit for typo.
