Two adventurers delve deep into the myth, legend and reality of the mysterious creature that’s said to roam the Himalayas. This documentary series from BBC Radio 4 follows amateur yeti enthusiasts Andrew Benfield and Richard Horsey as they travel across the mountain range searching for evidence that the yeti might actually exist. Coming to BBC Sounds on 30 June 2023.

Have been enjoying this one and haven't seen it discussed on the board. I'm currently listening to episode five, where the researcher has been given a clump of purported yeti hair made into jewelry.

There's another series on mythical creatures which has a very British focus, but there's one episode on giants which might be of interest to BFFers:

Quote

Fantasy writer Rhianna Pratchett takes us across an enchanted British Isles to discover mythical creatures that lurk in all corners of the land. She uncovers what they can tell us about our history, our world and our lives today. As a child Rhianna was told of sleeping giants on the hilltops near her grandparent’s house in Wales. Now she returns to the Welsh mountains and to Cader Idris – a striking mountain in the Eryri National Park – to meet a particularly intriguing giant. Rhianna discovers why giants have been important to humans for centuries. She explores what they can reveal about ourselves and our landscape, and what giant tales might offer us in the present day.

Those are Transformers. England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are locations of high weirdness. They have a very high PSI factor. Our modern narrow minds do not fathom the energies and spirits that live there. There are a lot more than the worn out term 'leprechaun'. One of the reasons for the failure of DeLorean's factory in Ireland was that during construction,  a certain bush that housed fairies was destroyed. Residents have a high regard for stone age structures and ancient trees. Isaac Newtons' tree  still survives. There are trees over 1,000 years old. The Llangernyw Yew in Wales is over 4,000 years old. There is supposed to be a special spirit that has lived in that yew for thousands of years. How does that yew keep the insects away?

Cutting down / damaging a Hawthorne tree will probably get you disappeared. The lay out of highways is modified to miss certain types of trees.

Many of us who did not grow up there do not appreciate the paranormal side.
