indiefoot
Relax, I wasn't referring to you. An expert in the field and a BF expert aint the same thing one hsas a specific skill set, the other does not yet exist. Like it or not the coopy doll goes to the bringer of a body or live specimen, noone was talking about a lab. Midnight was talking about his alledged thousand hours in two and a half years, Broken down that's about one hour every 21 days. Guest
Hey John, Wouldn't you say rather that those guys are expert witnesess? Did Ostman or Roe afterwards ever start researching or get the BF bug in general like P&G? No, I'd say these guys were the experts! Joe Normal dudes like you asked about in your opening post. Who can top them? I have no way of knowing if Ostman or Roe ever started "researching" but I'd bet my paycheck they looked over their shoulder whenever they went into the woods again ( does that qualify as research? ). Guest tracker
You said it john, I agree it's not fair. I wish I knew more or was better prepared when I had my class A. So maybe add for good or bad luck because it's not always a romantic situation when you run into them.

Guest midnightwalker1
Right, nothing romantic about what happened to me. It frightened me badly. John, have you ever gotten over that or does it still affect you in the field. Not picking at you but was curious. I know a sighting like that can freak you out especially when that's not what you were even looking for in the first place. I literally trained my mind continuously to imagine certain scenarios in the forest so I'd be mentally prepared. Anyway, it really took a lot of mental exercises on my part just to get used to it out there. I didn't know if you had quite gotten over that yet or were still dealing with it a bit. Again all asked in honesty and not to pick at you.
Guest
Midnightwalker1, I know you are not picking on me and you can ask me questions. No, I have not completely gotten over it yet. I am doing much better about being in the woods, but I still get spooked when I am out there alone. I also feel a need to go out in the field with my friends who I trust and I feel safe with. I also have bad sleeping issues due to nightmares which I have dealt with since my encounter in 1982.

Wow I didn't realize that one. I had a buddy in Alabama that was a bit scared of them down there. I had met him at an outing and he had different opinions of who they were and was pretty petrified of them. After that night down there and what he experienced with them during our outing, he is like night and day. Anyway, if we ever meet up at an outing, I'd welcome the opportunity to go out there with you and hopefully allow you to gain a better understanding of the sas and their true intentions towards you. Guest tracker
Hey John C, Where can I find the report of your encounter? that's if you went public. thanks.
MagniAesir
Sasquatch Experts in descending order: 1. Albert Ostman 2. William Roe 3. Roger Patterson & Bob Gimlin Honourable Mention Category: In no particular order, all eyewitnesses including but not limited to Native Americans/First Peoples, modern day witnesses too numerous to mention.* * Some witnesses in the honourable mention category would qualify for placement in the top list, and certainly qualify for expert classification, but their names aren't known. For example the carvers of the Tsimshian ceremonial mask, the Buk'wus and Dsonoqua totem poles, and the person or persons who sculpted the stone heads from the Hood River region of the Columbia Gorge. Where would you place John Green, or do you not consider him an expert. The only reason I ask is that, I don't have a clue and he is one of the names that I am familiar with

Guest tracker
Ok i found it thanks, thats a good one as far as duration goes.
Guest
I don't consider John Greene an expert. All the experts I listed were eyewitnesses. The ranking is based on the duration and details observed during their observations. I do consider John Greene a very good, diligent researcher who is a heavyweight in the BF/Sasquatch field of study.
Guest
Why do people have a problem with the term Expert? Is it the same problem with say a phrase like Most Knowledgeable? or Most Experienced? John Green does not consider himself an expert on Bigfoot and I think that is just in his nature, not being the toot your own horn type of person, but I have heard some newbies get up in front of an audience and all but proclaim such to people who have spent more time, money and energy then they ever dreamed of devoting to the subject. Just curious but are Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster considered experts.... on Superman? IMHO This is just another ridiculous topic to try and argue with one another over. It has no point or meaningful possible conclusion, except to maybe disparage someone and bolster their own positions. The subject is just being used as a catalyst or accelerant between factions. Guest
I mean no disrespect toward John Greene or anybody else. At the same time, I think to be an Expert on a particular topic in a biological, scientific realm, one should have seen and hopefully studied the witnessed creature/being.
