Vehicles these days are built to dissipate the force of an impact, and the area the damage occurred is built intentionally weak. It's part of the "crumple zone", so I don't think it would take something around 800 lbs to cause that damage. It could be something much less in weight.

Also, how accurate was the speed of the car as reported to the police officer? A less massive object at higher speed might cause similar damage as as more massive object at lower speed.

I'm just saying ..... There is no way I can see a Squatch causing that type of damage to a car/SUV unless it fell down in front of the vehicle....... I've seen that type damage from a 150 pound deer...
