Urban Bigfoot, Seriously?

Thanks again everyone for all the support, life is returning to normal.  My wife and I just enjoyed a very good anniversary

dinner last night, delayed due to the situation.  It is very surreal to me how much difference 24 hours can make, on day I think

I am preparing for the worst, and the next day I am enjoying a relaxing dinner.  Suffice it to say every day we have on this earth

should be treasured.  I gained some perspective from the experience which I hope to hold onto.  What really will matter in the end

is the people in your life and the love you give.  All the annoyances of life seem minor, like the guy in traffic, the stop lights, the

co-worker, the boss, et.. in the light of eternity.  I rested nicely after our meal enjoying listening to Loren Coleman on Coast to Coast

and letting myself drift off to sleep with nothing but thoughts of a large hairy beast roaming my marsh.

Just wanted to share two interesting clips, I got some kind of a knock in the semi distance last night in response to a whistle I always do.

Also later a very interesting investigation of the recorder, which seems to involve picking up and setting down, you hear one last bump and

the recorder is back resting on the stump.  I find that when you hold it it hums a little, and the foot steps approaching are as loud or louder

than my own when I am near by!!!

Suffice it to say Sasquatch is very insignificant when it comes to such matters....

this statement is a bold truth if ever there was one typed here. funny how health seems to put things in perspective.

so fwiw, a bold congratulations for your great news LCB, glad to read that.

The interesting thing about the clip I have posted above, "interesting approach" is that the animal is noisy as can be approaching, but no discernible sounds leaving the area.  I listened for it's exit, which would be telling, but there was none.  I am not sure any of this activity is Sasquatch, but the more strange coincidences the more I have to suspect.  I will be active in my research from here on out till snowfall as I do suspect the presence of these creatures is more detectable as the season progresses.  Last year the peak of supposed activity was early September to Oct, and then some in November right up to the first snow, then absolutely nothing.  My neighbor has been out of town, and his property has a very large stick pile that he saw eye shine behind, which would have been fairly tall in order for him to see.  Anyway the search continues, and I hope I can present something more conclusive....such as prints....or a video clip....in the future, but that is reaching.  These creatures are smart, and they know that they leave tracks, so they avoid walking in areas where prints will be left, which might explain why the approaching sound seems to be using the sticks near my recorder to avoid leaving tracks (an example would be the Skookum incident where the creature was apparently lying on its side attempting to reach the apples in the mud hole without leaving prints, oops it forgot that the body would leave an impression:).  So I guess logic suggests I set up a track trap.....hmmmm....

It definitely sounds like something large approaching and it holds the recorder for a while.  Can you tell what time of the day or night this was recorded?

You're not alone with things like that bit bolded.  I'll have to have a good listen to these this evening.

LCB,

Great news!!!  Very happy for you and yours.

A friend would get snippets almost exactly like your second recording.  And what is most amazing is the train whistle and the traffic, for she had the very same situation at her home.   She had a lake nearby, she had train tracks in town, she also had very strange birds???? doing the soft whistles at nite.  It's amazing because your recording is very similar.  She also would leave it on a stump.

Check the recorder for greasy smudges or very large fingerprints if possible.  Good luck and maybe he/she stuck around til the recorder turned off or used the traffic noise to cover their foot steps using a grassy exit?????

I have had coyotes come up to the recorder and sniff it, but I always heard them leave similar to how they came, this was what

I found strange.  Also there is a exhale after the sniffing that sounded different then what I thought were coyotes in the past.

Sunflower that is interesting how similar the two situations sound between mine and your friend.  As I have stated in the past

I live in semi suburbia.  The marsh is connected to larger wild areas but loosely.  Animals use the greenways that run along

the lake shore and lead toward my marsh.  Then on the back side they cross a channel that's about 20 yards wide and more

wild areas.  We have badgers living here which is very rare as well, a heron rookery also rare, and my wife witnessed two whooping

cranes using the area, all of which speaks to the high quality of this little marsh which is labeled a federaly protection ADID wetland.

Not to mention a wolf sighted by my neighbor, cougar sightings nearby, and my own find of a black bear print nearby.  A documented

wolf killed very near to where I found the bear print.  All of these natural areas connect to my marsh via the lake, so I am sitting

pretty for getting wildlife into my backyard, maybe a little too pretty....

coffee2go, the recordings were approximately between 2-3 am, which is when I seem to get these things coming up to the recorder.

I will set a track trap soon made of sand or something else, and that way I will know for sure when something is messing with the

recorder.  Just have to think it through a little and clear the area surrounding the recorder.  I looked around for prints today in adjacent

areas, this recording came after a nice dry spell, it just rained a whole bunch after the recording and I found nothing unusual.  Just

got to hope I can catch them one of these days leaving a print.  The sticks and litter on the ground make that difficult.  I could see

how they could simply walk on the littered ground and avoid leaving tracks, which also speaks to their intelligence.

Something interesting happened yesterday, my wife and I discovered this small forest preserve that seemed relatively unused.

It has some nice topographical features and a fen environment.  I could not help making a whoop or two, and interestingly we

got some kind of chatter response, sounded very unusual like garble garble, perhaps it was a strange turkey, but my wife said

it sounded humanish, no humans were present however.   The name of it was interesting, Boger Preserve.
