Lake County Bigfooot
Obviously when recording attempting to capture sasquatch activity, you capture a load of other interesting things, like owls and coyotes, here are just a couple of ordinary clips I run into going through 13 hours per attempt or so when I put out the recorder. After sifting through a 1000 hours or so you get the instinct for what seems unusual. But most nights are just ordinary and you have to enjoy the process of searching, and the little glimpses you get into the activities of the night. I like to record in wav. format, but in order to post these on this sight I convert them to an mp3. format which reduces the size a bunch and gets them under the limit of 10.0 MB owl sounds fluttery one.mp3 Yotes.mp3 Edited August 17, 2014 by Lake County Bigfooot
Guest
Good to hear the good news LCB. Have you tried to get any finger prints from the recorder? Or is it possible to alter the ground near the stump to get footprints? It sounds like there is a lot of natural litter on the ground - perhaps rake some of that up to make it more conducive to footprints? Maybe something sticky (pitch or double-sided tape or something similar) to try to get hair samples? Just brainstorming ideas to collect more evidence... Lake County Bigfooot
Nod4eight , I definitely need to try something to capture the prints, I place the recorder inside a zip lock because of moisture, so that is not very conducive to taking finger prints. I want to set up a track trap, if you have any suggestions. I was thinking about surrounding the area with dirt or sand and then being careful to walk in my own tracks. Guest
Any sort of soft ground that will capture a track should work. Rake up the litter and till the soil a little so it soften it up. I would avoid adding foreign soil or sand - if you DO have activity I wouldn't want to change too much. As far as capturing prints - have you tried putting something else out there next to the recorder that may be more conducive to capturing prints? Perhaps a medium sized rubber ball like this: Sprinkle the whole area with printer toner, if that gets on BF's fingers it will leave a print on everything he touches, and if he picks up the ball - BAM you have prints. Just trying to think outside the box a little.
Lake County Bigfooot
I like the idea Nod4eight, but sounds a bit messy, I was a printer in the past and have left a print or two myself usually where I did not intend. Tonight I have hung a good portion a bone in rib eye about 9 feet in the air, and have my trail cam pointed toward it, I know its really obvious, but maybe someone will oblige with the obvious. uhhhgggg need more rechargeable batteries, not enough for audio. Guest
I believe any animal with a desire to blend in can do so in a smallish clump of brush. When a cat or raccoon walks into a bush or tall grass they disappear immediately and only reappear to the eye when they get close. If even a large animal finds a clump of thick brush big enough to hide itself and lies still or sits through the daylight until night... not much chance of detection. Every country block has a hundred acre woods in the center. Some run for 10-12 miles or more with a road cut through on the next block. I live on a large, natural, spring-fed lake. Someone found an ancient canoe in the mud here years ago and it's in one of the big museums. So this lake is old. There's nothing behind me for a solid mile. Private abandoned property, Nobody goes back there. Anything could be crossing back and forth next to that side of the lake, but I've never seen anything except deer and a couple coyote in 16 years of gazing at that property every chance I get. However, over the years people I personally know in this county have; seen Bigfoot on their property (4), at a nearby campground (1), heard them vocalizing (1), suspicious eye shine (1), saw one crossing the road (2), have had farm animals taken (1). Had one guy ask me nonchalantly, "you ever see anything..weird around here?" I said, "No, but I know a lot of folks who have." Grassman they call them. This area, all of Ohio but the inner cities, is pretty "squatchy" Tons of water, food sources, cover. Why not?
Lake County Bigfooot
Warriorswife, it sounds like your property has strong possibilities for being visited from time to time, or maybe a more permanent group in the area. My area is probably a brief visit with the young, and so far I can only detect a female and a juvenile. I have very little to go on, mind you, some vocalizations and activity that is suspect. I am very far from having any conclusive proof that it is even Sasquatch, but that is how they survive to this day, by leaving you very little. JKH
It's been an interesting summer here, just keeping a journal of observations close to home. When I started out a couple years ago, I was less informed and just assumed that they would restrict themselves to deep woods, but that is not consistent with many reports around human habitats, as has been discussed in this awesome thread. I'm fortunate to be near saltwater and many greenbelts around streams and parks within a short drive. Now that the sun goes down earlier, I've been sitting outside and marveling at how easy it would be to escape notice in the dark in a quiet residential area. In relation, I heard a crime report on the radio earlier which made me take notice. I looked up the location, and it's near saltwater shoreline and riverine greenspaces. Of course, it's speculative and wish I could learn more about the situation, but intriguing. It's unclear who heard a "woman's scream", in the radio report, it sounded like the injured person heard the scream. It doesn't fit with my understanding of sneak thieves' typical MOs. It certainly would take some strength to hurl a large heavy rock through a large window, who knows how high up. Via KOMO. SEATTLE -- A woman babysitting three children early Sunday in Delridge suffered multiple cuts to her hands and legs when someone threw a football-sized rock through a large picture window directly above where she was napping, according to the Seattle Police Department.According to the police report for the incident, the victim was dozing on the couch in the 7300 block of 28th Avenue Southwest around 1:15 a.m. with the curtains open and the lights and TV on when a rock was thrown through the window above her.Flying shards of glass cut the victim on her hands and legs, deep enough to possibly require stitches. She jumped off the couch and noticed the front gate to the home was open but didn't see anyone. After checking to make sure the children she was babysitting were OK, the victim noticed her iPhone, which had been sitting on the arm of the couch, was missing. Officers believe whoever threw the rock reached in through the broken window and stole the phone.A neighbor, who called 911 after hearing glass break and a woman scream, didn't see anyone leaving the scene. Officers, who were in the area within four minutes, also didn't notice anyone suspicious.Neither the victim nor the home's resident could think of anyone who would have targeted them specifically. roguefooter
So you're assuming that someone throwing a rock through a window to grab an iphone was Bigfoot?
JKH
^Sorry if my paragraph was unclear. The short answer is no. BTW, here is an intro to a blogpost in an ongoing series describing research into urban activity, with link. Some may find it of interest. This is the first of a running series on Ghost Hunting Theories chronicling a present-day Sasquatch experiment utilizing techniques employed by this researcher over a decade ago in a completely different location at an habituation site. Today, the researcher's ongoing study is being performed in an urban setting in the southern half of the US, hundreds of miles from the original site and the results are amazingly similar. During the series, I will be sharing the evolution of these experiments and their results from his journal. http://www.ghosthuntingtheories.com/2014/08/the-urban-sasquatch-journal-original.html
Lake County Bigfooot
So the steak aforementioned availed nothing, in fact the only thing after that steak was a happy cluster of maggots and flies. Just buried my kitty who was suffering with something really bad and was blind and deaf, and losing the rest of her faculties though she was only about 12 years old. My wife and I cried to have to part with the joy the little creature brought to us, and our other cat is grieving as well. I can only imagine that Sasquatch must relate to human sorrow over death, and it is my suspicion that they too bury their dead. It is not all that difficult to imagine that scene. I hope that one day soon we will know more than this concerning this and other mysteries that we call our existence.
Guest lightheart
I am sorry about your kitty LCB. Some of the deepest grief I have felt has been with the loss of a pet. It leaves a real vacuum for a while. Thank goodness the pain of it recedes with time and you are just left with the joy of the memories you have with them. Lake County Bigfooot
Thanks lightheart, I told my wife that in heaven she will have a mansion full of her past pets. I think that all living things have purpose and meaning and even perhaps a second life beyond this one. That just lead to the thought that Sasquatch might be in the after life as well, hmmm. Maybe they will be a bit fresher smelling in the beyond Edited August 31, 2014 by Lake County Bigfooot
