Torn Up Tent: Bob Garrett Interview

JDL: Both interviews were on Sasquatch Chronicles - Bigfoot Hotspot Radio. I listen to the show through the Sticher app on my phone. Eventually they put them on YouTube.

Typo: Stitcher app.

I think this is a little bogus.

Notice how the thing is done all at night, not in the light of day when you can see better. Notice how they talk about things but you can't quite see if for yourself because the flash lights are either washing out the part you want to see or they aren't shining enough light on it to see it.

Just seems a little too intentional for it to be real. They could have come back in the light of day and shown everything better, but nope. They gave us this with more questions than answers.

Looks even more bogus in the light of day. All we have is his word that it wasn't like that the day before, no before-after.

....and the Jack-links bag.....really? Talk about "Messin' with Sasquatch?".

Southernyahoo: Thanks for being informative, helpful and respectful at all times. You set a great example for decorumn.

JKH: You are correct. Bob answered about every question in his 2 interviews. I respectfully suggest people should listen to both interviews.

NCBRR: Two weeks ago I came across 3 different trees along the river that were freshly broken off at approx. the 8 foot high mark. They were approx. 10" in circumference, green and showed no storm damage. No claims, just peculiar to see.

I do agree the videos provide no evidence or answers. As a part time photographer, I will say it's very hard to capture what your trying to convey to someone in photographic or video form without time and knowledge. Especially at night time and encountering a scene you weren't expecting. Plus in the daylight I image in the back of Bob's mind he was wondering when the authorities where going to show up to run them off. This produces rushed and poor camera work.

My opinion isn't formed by every stick in the woods is BF or the video's themselves. They are formed through listening to the 2 interviews with Bob. He seems to be an honest man and his conclusions are plausible. Southernyahoo, I come closest to your assessment on this. Bob may be misreading the situation, but if he isn't, there's a problem in his neck of the woods. His first hand encounter in the area dealt with a male with a belligerent attitude. All humans and animals have their own personalities. So, it's plausible to me the idea of a belligerent BF. Animals protect their mates and offspring, can be territorial and yes, occasionally produce a bad apple. In conclusion, my assessment is formed more through the man's character than through the videos.

I posted the original video in the "scariest thing in the woods" thread a few months ago. I only came across his blog last year, but it's been up for a couple years. He has a youtube channel, as well. He seems humble, sincere, and knowledgeable about the outdoors. It appears he has been at this for a long time. Here's one scary post from his blog that I think he mentioned on the radio show.

You're welcome. If you scroll down on that page, there's another great read titled Sasquatch and Hogs Field Report. He writes some good accounts, for sure.

JKH: Those were both very good stories. The second one goes to show, everyone loves pork. Who couldn't resist a fresh side of bacon. Lol!

Sidenote: I would be more apt to believe a story told by a credible source with good character than a track cast held by a man with low to no character. Character matters more than anything else.

Yup, I'm a fan. In part two of the scary night, he is compassionate toward the "big lady" as he called her, even though they had been so scared, they didn't go out at night for almost a year. Here's a somewhat sad end to that story:

though we came through there many times she was always in the area and made herself known but never did she try to attack again. We got to see her only two times in the thirteen years she was there. I don’t know if she passed away or just left the area.

An oil company cut a road in there and drilled a well. That opened it up to a lot of hunters and more backpackers. I like to think she moved closer to the river. But I guess we will never know.

Mr. Garrett does seem to have more than the normal number of violent/near-violent Sasquatch encounters to relate. By this I mean, experiences outside of bluff charges, escorting/stalking behavior, etc. Based on my review of the database of sightings by all others, the normal number is probably a tick above zero. Either something in his appearance/behavior provokes a particularly violent response from BF's, or something else. I have no experience in his neck of the woods to know if what he says makes sense, but I do have an ear for things left unsaid, things only alluded to, and topics skirted all together.

If I accept the idea that a BF dragged a camper or two out of their tents and dispatched them, possibly throwing them in the lake, I'd count on some things to happen as a result. First off, it would be extremely difficult for a homicide to go unpublished as we can assume the victim was known by somebody in a community somewhere, who is bound to want to know what happened to their friend/co-worker/family member and why, and if he/she disappeared, why wasn't a search effort being mounted?

The second thing I would expect to find is not just "drag marks" but real forensic evidence, possibly copious amounts of blood and/or tissue. I may not know of what I speak, but the idea of a bloodless abduction seems kind of unlikely given the struggle a victim is likely to put up once he knows the situation. If that kind of thing was present, Mr. Garrett's dog sure wasn't picking up on it.

And these victims supposedly only camped with a BBQ grill, tent and a sleeping bag? Nothing else was found? If T.P.T.B. supposedly scrubbed the scene, they took all that, but left what we see in the video? These are just a few things I'm wondering about. If anyone has answers I might have missed, please enlighten me.

The lack of f/u in the interview was frustrating too. He said (I paraphrase) "You could find human bones....." So, wouldn't YOU ask him," DID YOU find human bones in S.H.N.F. Mr. Garrett?" Let's not be coy. Tell us what are you saying, and let's be clear.

I am not saying I know if there is anything to this, or not. Some here seem to know more about this gentleman than I do, so I'll just leave it at that....more possible evidence to put on the pile

WSA: I'm glad to see you listened to the interviews. I agree, the lack of follow up questions was a little frustrating. It left me with some questions to and even off-shoot questions. Without constructive questioning there would only be 2 camps in the BF world, disbeliever's or kool aid drinkers. As a believer with a skeptical side, I welcome constructive questioning and dialogue.

Off-shoot question: I have found in one area, 3 different green trees, broken off at approx. the 8 foot mark. The trees run along the river line, approx. 30 yards distance from the river and the distance between the trees is approx. a couple hundred yards. Their snapped off and show no weather or lightning damage or insect damage or evidence this was done by man or machine. The only access to this area is the choice of wading the river from the south or a 3 mile trek through briar infested woodland from the north.

What are some reasons for this to naturally occur?

If this is BF related and I stress if, what could be the reasoning? Is it a territorial marker?
