I thought the gas vs charcoal was an interesting question. I would call myself a charcoal purist, if there is such a thing. ;)

I prefer either charcoal or my cast irons on an open flame.

From my past experiences, I know you don't make a comment as such unless you are confident in the definition.

 

I will admit I was surprised that grilling only requires the food to be placed on a grill.  No charring required.  Interesting.

 

So, in short.  You are absolutely right!

I'm a huge fan of cast iron!  Use it all the time, indoors and out.

Once again, it’s the quality of the beef, what heat you use makes no difference at all.
