Guest
Derek- YOu have any recommendations for people to work with in Northern Minnesota and/or Northern Wisconsin? Tim B. Hey Tim, what kind of recommendations? Do you mean about research in general, or expeditions?

bipedalist Posted January 26, 2012 BFF Patron Share Posted January 26, 2012 Interesting about the "car crash" sound being attributed to the adult BF knocking a tree over which seemed to have snapped at a stump. Wasn't it Miocyznski who stated in the MNBRT radio show that there was a sample found on a stump.......if so it makes a little more sense in this revised scenario recounted.......but oddly Lindsay does not followup with the current MNBRT revelations by Dr. Mioczynski, dogs and the sample on a stump?????????? Where's the beef?
Guest Thepattywagon
I just waded thru RL's 'interview'. Not sure why he doesn't record his conversations to avoid misquoting the interviewee, unless he likes having that as a possible excuse for posting things that may not be factual. Also, I couldn't help but notice that when asked about the sex of the large BF, Smeja said,(according to RL's notes) "I couldn’t tell the sex of it, and I didn’t see any breasts." But in the very next sentence he admits that he is not permitted to share what sex the creature was do to his NDA. So why can't he just say he knows if it was a girl or a guy, but can't divulge the information? Instead, he says he didn't know what sex it was. It's confusing. Guest slimwitless
He said he couldn't tell the sex by looking at it. He knows the sex only because he's been told by someone privy to the testing (which is privileged information). It does seem like a trivial thing to keep under wraps. It's a fascinating interview, IMO. Edited January 26, 2012 by slimwitless

TimB
Expedition/Field work kinda stuff, Derek. I have some free time in the summer and thought it'd be good. I live in the middle of the wood but it's different on your home turf... Tim.

Guest
Anyone still willing to state RL is irrelevant and just pulls stuff from his posterior side? The guy has contacts. Never 100% correct but don't dismiss his ramblings. Most interesting tidbit to me was he didn't adamantly state "there are no bodies" like we have seen here previously. It was "If there are bodies, I know nothing about them."
BobZenor
The NDA for its sex isn't trivial if it is a male. The Y-chromosome could be the most important nuclear DNA since there are so many people that have had portions of that sequenced. Just having the NDA include sex suggested to me that it was a male. Females have no unique DNA. The Y chromosome has areas that aren't involved with genetic recombination so it is much more stable and liable to be better evidence for something distantly related. That 90% human statement makes me think some evidence points to a divergence date of about 500,000 years ago, about the same as neanderthals. It is hard to know what he meant by 90% human since it isn't a very precise or technical way to explain something. It sounds like something someone might say to someone who didn't understand genetics so they got the gist without an in depth explanation. I hope that is just a rumor. That is close enough to modern humans that it would be hard for many to accept. Edited January 26, 2012 by BobZenor
Bonehead74
Lindsay has an interview with Justin Smeja on his blog. Link Keep in mind Lindsay's 'interview' technique. He conducts his interview sans recording, then later transcribes it from memory. Justin's answers and comments are not direct quotes. This is the same methodology as the original Ken Walker interview that broke the Sierra shooting story. To his credit, Lindsay does disclose this in his preface, but it makes me wary.
