Madison5716 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 "Bigfoot" is such a stupid name, yet I use it all the time. What are they called traditionally in your neck of the woods? Here on the west coast, there are so many names. What is your favorite? Native American Names for Bigfoot (sunstar-solutions.com)
BlackRockBigfoot Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I pretty much use Sasquatch nowadays. Like you, I find Bigfoot silly. They call them woods boogers or haints in rural areas western North Carolina. Devils in the upstate rural areas of South Carolina. That’s just in the more rural areas… and mostly by older residents. ‘Bigfoot’ is pretty much prevalent everywhere now.
Patterson-Gimlin Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I don't like the Bigfoot name either. Reminds me of a monster truck . I prefer Sasquatch. Being from Florida ,Skunk Ape is the mostly widely used.
CelticKevin Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Grandpa, who was a logger, called them "hairy boogers". One of his buddies called them "pine monkeys". I don't have a problem with Bigfoot. Generally I will use that or Squatch. Just whatever gets the point across. 1
wiiawiwb Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 At their size, I call them "Sir". Sasquatch 3
hiflier Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Haven't we already been through all of this only recently? 1
Tylo Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I use Sasquatch or Forest People. I don't like Bigfoot, it's a ridiculous name. I believe in my state Mo-Mo (?) was used. I know Six Flags had a spinning octopus ride called MoMo.
Incorrigible1 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Sasquatch, Bigfoot, the Creature, Big Guy.

BC witness Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 To not offend my buddy Thomas, and living just 20 miles from where the term originated, I use "Sasquatch" all the time, not "Squatch", or Thomas would smack me upside the head. ;-)

BC witness Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Northwind, that's a silly name from a silly TV show, Trailer Park Boys.
Doug Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 I kinda like Sachamoe, as it was called in an episode of the cartoon Rugrats.
