Hairy Man
Hairy - my point is that it's not character assassination - there is a lot you don't know about him. And no we didn't let him in the door - he wasn't welcome but that mattered little to him. Edited August 30, 2011 by HairyMan
Guest para ape
You may move Redfern to Hominid side. He leans that way in reality. Remember he is an author and journalist first then researcher. His writings are between fiction and nonfiction. I can ask him this weekend. Hmmm,I read on his website that he believes that most cryptids are paranormal in nature. Guest
PARA- I acknowledge that the paranormal exists because I have experienced it myself, but I don't think bigfoot falls into that category. There are several well known and not so well known researchers that have the same view point to varying degrees. It's not an either/or proposition, it's a continuum of opinion only. The reports that indicate paranormal abilities probably have natural explanations, possibly some we don't understand just yet. There is no certainty that when one experience's the paranormal encounter with a bigfoot that they are truly dealing with a bigfoot. It could be something else since identity theft is not strictly relegated to 3D reality according to theological doctrine. I think you are confusing two different entities. Look up doppleganger. It might look like someone you know but it isn't.There are lots of anecdotal reports for this phenomena.
Guest para ape
Jodie,I understand what you're saying but I disagree.Idon't think there are two separate bigfoot entities,a physical and a paranormal one.It can only be one or the other and from all the weird things and experiences that I've read,it is definitely paranormal. It just seems to me that the flesh and blood crowd have a difficult wrapping their mind around the idea that the creature isn't physical. It seems like you guys try to rationalize the paranormal aspects of the creature instead of accepting it for what it is. And you know this how Para Ape? I read it.
Sasfooty
Para ape, I think you are at least half right. My experiences are first hand, & some of them are with "something" that definitely has powers that we don't have. I don't know how physical they are, but I have seen a lot of evidence that they do have physical bodies. These don't appear to need much food. Although they have taken some of the food I have left for them, they don't appear to really need it. They pick over it, & take some, but there is almost always some left. I've thought about that a lot. There are so many of them, & they are so big & active...they should need vast amounts of food. The deer & wild hogs should be almost extinct around here, as well as losses to cattle ranchers & chicken farmers, but it hasn't happened. If they were totally physical beings, and some of them were "used" in some way by some kind of non-physical entity, they should still need a lot of food. But if they were totally non-physical beings, they shouldn't need any food, or leave tracks, hair, scat, etc. Whatever they are, they certainly aren't just some kind of smart ape. Guest
Hmmm,I read on his website that he believes that most cryptids are paranormal in nature. "most cryptids" would likely be accurate as that it's pretty well established that bigfoot is flesh and blood and the other cryptids like Mothman, Jersey Devil, original Puerto Rico Chupacabra have basically no evidence other than testimony of aledged witnesses but bigfoot has tons of real evidence in various categories. It's an assumption on your part referring to bigfoot to be included in "most" and assumptions have no place in proof of anything. I can ask him in person this weekend if I remember. It is amazing to have so much energy to push a "paranormal" answer as it is nearly impossible to prove anything scientifically to back it up. And no we didn't let him in the door - he wasn't welcome but that mattered little to him. Point taken...sooo, how did he get in then? By the way, him acting a fool in public and insinuating he is stupid for an educated man are not the same thing. Not really anything worth arguing about to me either. Guest para ape
Sasfooty,I kind of agree with you.I believe that the beings that are behind bigfoot are seen eating and doing other things to deceieve or make it seem like the creatures are physical beings if that makes sense to you. I think it is very interesting that several forum members have had actual encounters with the creatures. But like I'VE said many times,I believe bigfoot are spiritual beings in creature form. Guest HairyGreek
That has been VERY well established at this point. Why not set out to prove it? It will be cathartic and you can keep us up to date on your findings. One rule: finding reports doesn't count as "proof". Deal?

I've thought about that theory, too. I hope I never have to bet my life on one theory or the other. If I did, I would probably have to agree with you, although it would be with a few serious doubts. Guest RayG
What's your point? That even someone that does the occasional good deed can be wrong most of the time? If you were never in EB's sights, consider yourself lucky. RayG Edited August 30, 2011 by RayG edited to remove expletive/respelled to defeat language filter.... Guest RayG
What did he do, object to being called a liar? I never said he was wrong most of the time... I was trying to say he was the equivalent of the north end of a south-bound horse. And I'm being polite at only saying that. EB seemed unable to carry on a reasoned debate, or engage in a friendly differences of opinion. No, EB would make sure he took it beyond anything resembling that. Let's see... oh yeah, I had to have my phone number unlisted because he kept calling and harassing/threatening my wife and children. That wasn't enough for EB though, he had to send threatening emails and snail mail, bombard my parish priest with unwanted faxes, and call in the local cops, who showed up at my door saying they got a call that I was running pornographic websites from my home. Yeah, such a classy guy that EB was, even made fun of my son, who was born with Down Syndrome, and made it a point to continually refer to me as 'retard'. EB may have been smart, but he certainly didn't act like it. RayG

Well, there was no need to drag your family into it, but I can see his side of things, too. Believe it or not, I used to be a lot less abrasive, back in the good old days.
