Heh, no it's not for field use, meant to jiggle stuff around gently to unlock spasmed muscles, free trapped nerves etc, so you have a better/looser back... and put you right again after you mess it up again.

It's been discussed plenty over the years, and on this Forum too - dogs being trained & used to track Bigfoot. It's also been well documented that even the best tracking dog will get weak kneed on a Bf scent.

My Ridgeback, and any other dog I've been in the woods with is the same way, and won't sniff out a suspected area or Bf track, it's like they don't want to be near it.

Well......I've noticed something different about Lucy the Wolf, whenever I find a suspected Bf track or track-way, she is very interested, almost obsessed, and acts strangely excited about it.

She is so not a dog in so many ways, particularly in the woods, and it might just be another one of those wolfy 'things'.

Does anyone have knowledge of a good way to train a 'dog' to track a particular animal? She is very smart, and contrarily to what I have been told about Wolves, she trains easily & fast.

I had never seen a Porcupine in Texas before, and Lucy the Wolf found one yesterday. She was smart enough to stay away, and it hauled ass up a tree. No pictures though, got it on video, but somehow deleted the whole thing transferring to my computer.....oh well! Later in the hike, Lucy was looking up in the sky, tilting her head from side to side, followed her eyes, and she was looking at a flock of Geese flying South. Never seen a 'dog' smart enough to look that high for something, and her eyes followed them until out of sight. She obviously heard them first, as I did, but was able to look up, and zero in on them.

Finally, a normal length hike, and at normal speed........8 weeks of back hell!

The Sleep Number bed has really helped, and can adjust the firmness as needed. My best sleep number is 45, however my sex number is 95 - pump that baby up and bounce around! (Sorry Mods:)

Here are some interesting older tracks, and required a heavy foot to make.

I've talked about this before.......there are a lot of deliberate looking rock structures all throughout these hills. The rocks are fairy large, and look placed......anyone interested in this sorta thing?

Hey Cervelo, there are some very interesting & old structures out here. A lot of stone work, and some of it involved a massive undertaking of material & man power. Just received an old Garrett metal detector today from Ebay, and have been wanting to scan a few areas for many years.

Here are some interesting older prints.......the one that's round looks like a Cougar. The last pic is at a place where I take a quick breather, drink and give the dogs some water using this plastic bowl. Pretty sure that's Raccoon poop, and either he/she has a sense of humor, or they were sending me a message.......animals always amaze me.

Of course, the tracks are always better 'live' when they can be viewed in 3-D and from different angles.

Oh well.......the Metal Detector was a bust, and doesn't work. Called Garrett to see if it can be fixed, but it's too old. However, they offered me a 40% discount on a new one if I send it in, which I will do this week.

Back to normal hiking, and had two good ones over the weekend. Dang, it was hot both days.....85 degrees, and was back to chasing Springs to keep the dogs hydrated. The natural Springs are few and far between with our continued drought, but offer a great gathering place for wildlife to get a drink. The one pictured below is very remote, and has 4 well used game trails leading to it from different directions. Lotta tracks in and around this little oasis of many different animals, and a few interesting ones pictured below, particularly the mud print, which was quite fresh. Both prints seem to be the same individual, one print in mud, and the other nearby in the leaves.

I like that dog (wolf) Bigtex. Beautfiul creature. I bet she's smart as all get out. I'm sure you like all of your animals but some are more equal than others lol
