BT.. without being there to see it.. I am hard presses to give any... what I see in the pic kinda looks like a hog stepping in the track of its forefoot.

not being able to feel the soil and examine it from all angles... I cannot say what it is with any certainty.

BFF Patron

I'd go with the overstep on hog without further evidence.

I was thinking a double print situation for sure, but with a 6 print track way all the same, kinda ruled that out for me, and they were spaced too far apart for a piggie.......it was weird.

Here are a couple of pictures.....my dogs at one of the Springs, and two Coyotes at night.

And two more.....a living tree twisted & broken across one of my main hiking trails and a smaller 'juvie' print.

Wow.......it's been very hot the last few days, hitting 106 Saturday, but yesterday, Sunday, a mild 88 by mid-day and mostly cloudy, with a predawn shower. It was (only) 90 at 3:30PM and overcast, so I decided to take a quick hike. Several miles into my hike, the clouds quickly evaporated/moved off, and it was like someone had turned on the oven......with the morning rain turning to steam, not a good combination. I have never seen such an abrupt temperature change, and went from 90 to 102+ in about 15 minutes.......a potentially dangerous situation, and I headed outta there to the casa post haste!

Couple of pictures; a nice Beauty Berry hiding a Hummingbirds nest, a large print outlined in red, notice the green lines where the toes slid back a bit during the step motion, and the green squiggly lines where a small amount of dirt pilled up at the end of toe-slide. And the last one........looks like a fairly good sized piggy-wiggy to me.

Thanks Cervelo, it was cool finding it. Absolutely crazy hiking weather for July......headed out yesterday evening around 6:45, it was 89 degrees, and have never-ever seen a low temp like that in Texas July!

Here's a few more pictures of the tree that ended up across one of my hiking trails. Notice how the tree was first pulled down, then using the tree next to it, twisted and broken around it, and none of the other neighboring trees have any damage, ruling out some kind of weather event.......weird.

My swimming hole just hasn't been the same for several years, as our drought conditions continue.......here are the pups cooling off down in the swimming pit, and some nice summer flowers.

I've always been a huge fan of Wolf spiders, they live an interesting life, and care for their young. Here's a nice fat female........or is she? Those aren't shinny rime stones on her back, those are 100's of babies hanging on. What was really cool, but the picture didn't come out, was when Ma-spider jumped and killed a cricket. The babies knew something was up, and crawled down on the cricket and apparently started feeding.........a real horror movie in miniature:)

I'm heading out north of New Braunfels tomorrow, not far from Canyon Lake...any activity ever happened around there?

Hey Ex.......haven't been down that way, good luck though.......look in wooded areas near major power lines, always a good bet:)

Had some nice rain the last few days and milder temps......and low 90's is considered 'cooler' for this time of year in Texas:)

Here is a smaller print, and a larger print heading parallel to the hiking trail, crossing it towards the nearby creek to the left.

And 2 more limb breaks; one on one of my hiking trails, and the other by a spring.

Bigtex.  Do you find breaks like these on new trails when you first go on them, or can you see other tree damage around one of these breaks not in the trail. It seems like way to much of a coincidence that you find fresh breaks , sticks and other things on the trails you walk frequently. I would say they are on purpose.

Hey DavidNC, I usually don't put much stock in limb/tree tree breaks as a rule, but sometimes they just 'feel' out of place and deliberate. The ones I have pictured on several posts are on some of my main hiking trails, and am usually through there 2 or 3 times a week, so I am able to notice very subtle differences in the immediate surroundings, even though these limb breaks aren't too subtle:) I made most of these trails years ago, and to my knowledge, they are not used by anyone else.

Here's a gorgeous snake that I played with yesterday, he was in the green bush, and very lucky I saw him.......can you see his head in the first photo? Snakes don't often move when you are approaching, and I have trained my eyes to notice irregular patterns........best way to see snakes, and avoid a bite.

Sometimes I write too fast, and since most of my pics are new.......I get in a hurry, and forget to edit.......change 'yesterday' to 'last year' in post #628 above:)

Dang.......my Wolf wanted outside bad around 5:00AM this morning, and got blasted by a Skunk - DOES ANYONE KNOW A GOOD REMEDY FOR AN ANIMAL WITH SO MUCH HAIR? Wow.......she stinks!!!
