Guest FootDude
To equate Samurai chatter to pareidolia is far from spot on. The level of vocalic utterance is far from auditory blobsquatches too. There is no mistaking that phonemes are being created spontaneously and not by mimicry. Whether the degree and level is from points of reason, understanding and mutual communication between unknown bipedals I guess we shall find out. Whether they are attempting to communicate with humans through phonemic utterances will be on the list of things to determine. I think TBRC will find that this is far from simple mimicry, it will just take time and more effort. ^^^ This ^^^
Guest Boolywooger
Ok, I captured the audio to my desktop and did some processing. Here are the files. GE at the end of the file name = Graphic Equalized (bands from 250 to 1000 hz not touched the rest reduced. HR = Hiss Reduction and HS = Half Speed. https://www.box.com/s/f5l9s9tfoqcv64828948 https://www.box.com/s/ajy3lmr5hphndmuo2i3r https://www.box.com/s/sxuilbslsf1ro7twl2ji https://www.box.com/s/4fqt6736bzm68ddrk1bx Listen to the last utterance in the half speed one a few times and tell me what you hear. Guest BFSleuth
That sounds remarkably like English using a phrase that makes sense in the context of the moment of recording.... hmmmm
Guest VioletX
I am sorry but the slowed down version did not make sense to me as it was lower in tone.. and hard for my ears and brain to understand. The second one sounded more like a voice talking, well a Sasquatch voice. The tone feels like something I might say to my dog when he tries to grab food from the baby, "back away! edit to say, just listened with headphones, it sounds like a direct order and if I heard it in the woods I would not even have time to think , I would be running the other way! Guest
@Bipto Would it be possible to provide the clip in it's original format? I know you must be extremely busy but.....pretty please........if it is accessable? I'd love to see how much I can clean it up with my newfangled advanced noise reduction application. I need a chance to learn my new control surface, jog/shuttle wheel anyway. That MP3 is probably missing 80% of the original audio information. salubrious Posted September 15, 2012 Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2012 Yes, mp3s are terrible, compared to wav or flac files.

This is what I tried to point out earlier. Very interesting snippet here Bipto. Some grunts and then 'Get Back'. Silence then near the end of the clip at least one more (very agitated) grunt and then loudly 'Back Away!'. if you listen closely, it seems like the 'Back away' is a very agitated demand once the first request to 'Get back' was perhaps ignored or unheard by the members of the TBRC. The grunt immediately preceding the 'Back away!' also seems quite more pronounced than the earlier grunts and noises and could be signaling a raised level of annoyance by the creature. the parkie
Bipto This is my first post on this thread. I just wanted to say that this is one of the most interesting threads I have seen here on the forums for some time and, along with everybody else, would like to add my thanks to you for fielding these questions so openly and for sharing the details of your organisation's project. Please continue the good work and also pass my thanks to your colleagues. Wouldn't this suggest the tosser was close? We should identify the true nature of these creatures before assuming enough familiarity to revert to name calling! (Joke! Sorry, couldn't resist - may not be appreciated outside of the UK...) This property had several sightings, amazing pics and a ten footer visited the campsite with a researcher as well. Sunflower, are these amazing pics in the public domain? It's not as simple as walking outside to see what's throwing the rocks because they position themselves in such a way that as soon as you make a move, they're already half way up the slope. Remember, the animals I saw covered about 30 yards or so, uphill, over uneven and rocky terrain, in well under five seconds. They are perfectly suited to their environment. We aren't. Is there scope for this to be observed by a videographer with 'high-zoom equipment' from a distant tree hide as often utilised in nature documentaries? If not, is this due to local logistics, or resource?

Guest
(Joke! Sorry, couldn't resist - may not be appreciated outside of the UK...) I thought the same thing the first time I read it! Is there scope for this to be observed by a videographer with 'high-zoom equipment' from a distant tree hide as often utilised in nature documentaries? The debris rain behavior is new and we're formulating strategies to capitalize on it as we speak.
bipedalist Posted September 15, 2012 BFF Patron Share Posted September 15, 2012 They will use the 'debris rain' event on top of your tent too when you least expect it. So, it's not reserved for cabins, trailers, houses and RV's. Why not get out and about and see if you can document and strategize on capitalizing on that element too? Just a suggestion. southernyahoo
Not yet. Peanutbutter and audio recorders can get you some close up action. Get the foot falls and some of the mumbly chatter at that range and it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.
