Guest BFSleuth
The debris rain behavior is new and we're formulating strategies to capitalize on it as we speak. Is the terrain around the cabins amenable to being raked smooth in a perimeter so that you can see trackways when they come in for their escapades? If not, then perhaps dusting the ground with something that might show up in infrared light might be able to help. Another thought is to place piles of rocks convenient for their missiles and put telephoto camera traps on them, catch them in the act of loading up their weaponry. At any rate, I wouldn't recommend getting into a rock throwing fight....
Guest
bip: Does the TBRC have any plans on using thermal imaging systems to gather video evidence? I might have missed it in one of the podcasts or the several threads going on the BFF, but I don't recall hearing thermal imaging discussed as either being used (successfully or not) or for future usage in X. Guest
The group owns an older thermal and has access to a newer one, but I'm not sure either output to video. I could be wrong about that. In any case, we have actively deployed the newer unit to assist in our work and it's proven quite useful. I'd like us to get more of them, funds allowing. But, video evidence is not our top priority. Is the terrain around the cabins amenable to being raked smooth in a perimeter so that you can see trackways when they come in for their escapades? If not, then perhaps dusting the ground with something that might show up in infrared light might be able to help. WRT raking, perhaps some. There's a lot of brush and rocks. We suspect they aren't coming out into clear view to throw anything, even when we're inside the cabin. WRT to dusting, yes, that's a tactic we're exploring but not one we've deployed yet. Another thought is to place piles of rocks convenient for their missiles and put telephoto camera traps on them, catch them in the act of loading up their weaponry. I've been up on that hill and found oddly out of place piles of "ammo" before. When you hear something like the debris rain, it begs the question where those doing the tossing are getting all of it. Perhaps off the ground before them, but also perhaps it's being collected in advance. Chimps use that kind of tactical thinking. At any rate, I wouldn't recommend getting into a rock throwing fight.... You know, I sometimes think they want us to do that.
Guest BFSleuth
Perhaps the TBRC might be interested in contacting thermalman to come to one of the outings for a spell. His expertise may be valuable.
Guest thermalman
Thanks BF. I would most certainly would like to contribute in any way and get away from the cold Canadian winter for a couple of weeks.....lol
Guest
O.K. guys. What is a tosser? Years ago I got into trouble using "shagging" and don't want to make that kind of mistake again. Also, I always wondered why the Pythons' mis-spoke about being "pissed." Bipto-- I understand TBRC members are requested to write-up daily field notes or a journal when in the field. I noticed too that the TBRC has not published these notes of previous field investigations; instead, cursory information is published at the website. Will TBRC ever release daily field notes? Do team members have access to all the cabins, or are they restricted to, or have a preference for, a particular one? Have you considered "clearing" the tall-grass, at least, around the cabins? Could the TBRC also provide a map locating the cabins in relation to one another and nearby landscape? Will the TBRC give an accounting of which teams experienced the most phenomena, medium activity and the least? My impression is that the TBRC has its strategies designed primarily to secure a voucher specimen and that offering to the public any detailed recounting of events encountered by the teams or video documentation of the expeditions is a very low priority. Is that a fair impression?
Guest
O.K. guys. What is a tosser? http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tosser I understand TBRC members are requested to write-up daily field notes or a journal when in the field. I noticed too that the TBRC has not published these notes of previous field investigations; instead, cursory information is published at the website. Will TBRC ever release daily field notes? We've discussed the possibility, but we're currently dealing with those who would like to expose the area for the specific purpose of having people try to get in there and disrupt our work. We've always tried to maintain a degree of operational security to keep that very thing from happening. To ensure the safety of our members and others and to help ensure that very stupid people don't try to hoax us. So, releasing more information now seems highly unlikely. Do team members have access to all the cabins, or are they restricted to, or have a preference for, a particular one? Have you considered "clearing" the tall-grass, at least, around the cabins? Could the TBRC also provide a map locating the cabins in relation to one another and nearby landscape? We have experienced the most activity at the cabin we're in now, so we're sticking with it. We've described the cabins as being more or less arranged along the cardinal points in a compass and will likely leave it at that for the reasons I discussed above. Will the TBRC give an accounting of which teams experienced the most phenomena, medium activity and the least? We have that data, but we haven't written the pubic report yet, so perhaps. My impression is that the TBRC has its strategies designed primarily to secure a voucher specimen and that offering to the public any detailed recounting of events encountered by the teams or video documentation of the expeditions is a very low priority. Is that a fair impression? I don't think so. Yes, the priority of several members is to secure the voucher and the group's top priority is further research in the animal, but I think the Bigfoot Show episodes and my participation here demonstrate a willingness to share some of what we've encountered thus far. There simply can't and won't be a "lifting of the viel," so to speak, any time in the foreseeable future.
Guest
Bait their aggression. I can not believe that I would offer that advise. It is my opinion that they will become more aggressive if you "disrespect" them. A lone person with no visible light stepping outside to yell REAL LOUD and beat the hell out of the cabin wall with fist, feet. They will be served challenge in a basic primate way. Have some stones of your own to throw back their way. I have baited them much closer using similar tactics. Guest Transformer
NOT how I think the TBRC does or should handle the situation but this reaction does come to mind given the frustration level they must have at the cabin at night.

Guest
Thanks Bipto for the reference. Never would have guessed. Do the individual team members own their own notes or journals, or is such documentation property of TBRC? When Colyer had his sighting last year, did he say he saw one Wood Ape, or possibly two? The notes themselves go to the TBRC. When Colyer had his sighting last year, did he say he saw one Wood Ape, or possibly two? He clearly saw one. Guest Boolywooger
Just listened to your latest show and wanted to make one suggestion: Go to a local rock store and get some inexpensive crystals and seed the hillside above the cabin with them. Their surface is basically like glass, so I'm pretty sure they would capture a print. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll pick one up.
Guest Fanofsquatch
I don't think a print will do, they want the whole hand.
