Paired up with the recent DNA findings, the theory does make sense to me.

Bigfoot inter-breeding with young Native women? Perhaps, but what better explanation could you give to a superstitious husband who suspects you of indiscretions with someone else, and wants to end the life of any suspected lover, than to tell him the mystical cannibalistic wood-ape was the culprit? Hubby would back off in a heartbeat.

Word would spread through the village, and maybe other indiscretions would be described in the same manner, thus giving birth figuratively to the bigfoot carried me off in a woven basket legend, and literally to any indiscretion that produced a bigfoot man-child result.

The gullible scribe who records these so-called historical facts is merely perpetuating the legend. We also have legends of Grendel, the Laestrygonians, and the Minotaur, but that doesn't make them true.

I don't know about the voluntary part, but it's a well known fact that great ape males well attempt copulation with a human female.

Hairy Man you could probably write a paper on the interpretation, and responses here. You can really learn a lot about people on this site, never mind Bigfoot.

Not to change the topic, but there are no DNA findings. Just claimed is all.

I have never heard of this before. I am also interested in seeing any verification to this.

Something I find a bit odd. We hear about what Bif eats, what he likes, what he does not like, how he communicates, his habits, how he hides, how he warns people off, where he sleeps, when he is out, and now, who his prefered sex mate is.

Don't we need a population to study to learn these things?

Not trying to be negative Nancy, but let's find one first, or prove they exist. Then, maybe start stating what their living habits are. ( only to things stated as fact )

So how'd they find a BF to mate with?

Is it just me, or is there a lot of latent racism/sexism in this thread?

Maybe I am just too sensitive.

We have a recent finding showing a purported bigfoot to be a black bear.

I did not want top mention that, for fear of being burned at the stake :)

Julia Roberts comes to mind, sadly the video isnt in English:

I also remember the former owner's wife of Oliver, the upright walking Bonobo, telling the story of him becoming sexually aroused with her.

Most of the stories comes from the South.

easy now...

as a southerner with northern inlaws, i can honestly say redneck is a universally accurate term to describe many on both sides of the mason-dixon line.

I think there are enough stories about it for it to be possible. Clearly we cannot know much more at this time.

I'll chime in on this one and agree with others. I've heard of native american women being kidnapped by bf, so hey anything is possible.
