thanks! will be checking to see if Discovery U.S. is going to carry this, since I saw the TS/Stroud 2 parter the other day on Discovery. I don't get Science Channel. Would love to but too $$$$$$$.Thanks to Comcast.

basic(non-HD) Comcast has the Discovery channel and the Science channel.....both channels carry the current Survivorman episodes....with repeats during the week

i thought it was pretty good, his critical thinking approach to it is much better then any other BF show. Comes at it from a skeptical perspective but you can tell that he thinks something is out there

It was OK, but he should talk to more researchers to gain a broader perspective, he seems to be a bit Standing-ized with his approach.

Les Stroud Searches for Bigfoot in 6 New Episodes of ‘Survivorman’
In the wilderness, Stroud searches for scientific evidence of Sasquatch

Muskoka, Ontario – April 1, 2015 – Does Bigfoot exist? In April, Survivorman Les Stroud will attempt to answer that question, as he kicks off six special episodes searching for the ever-elusive Bigfoot. In the process, the star of the hit TV series “Survivorman†(OLN Canada, The Science Channel U.S., Discovery Channel International), who is the only producer in the history of television to carry out an internationally broadcast series entirely written, videotaped and hosted alone, puts his reputation on the line to prove or disprove the existence of this seemingly mythical creature. 

Beginning April 1, the hunt for the Sasquatch, also known as Gigantopithecus, takes place on Discovery Channel Wednesdays at 9/8 Central and on The Science Channel on April 3 at 10/9 Central. Stroud will search the wilderness for evidence of the enormous primate-like creature, which may or may not have become extinct after the last Ice Age. “To be clear, I am not a Bigfoot enthusiast,†says Stroud. “I’m an enthusiast of the environment. And I’ve had mysterious experiences over the years that I have no ability to explain. It’s time to separate fact from fiction. Is Bigfoot truth, or hoax? I plan on doing everything in my power to find an answer.†


Here’s what to expect in some of the upcoming episodes: 

“Klemtu.†Stroud searches Klemtu, a wilderness-heavy Indian reserve on the fjord-filled coast of British Columbia. Here, sightings by residents date back generations, especially on Klemtu Hill, an old volcano that’s considered a sacred area. Stroud knows that this 900-pound creature must leave a trail, and he goes in search of it. What he finds is an enormous territory where a large animal could exist, undisturbed, for unknown periods of time. Airs Wednesday, April 1 on Discovery Channel at 9/8 Central and on The Science Channel on Friday, April 3 at 10/9 Central


“Alberta Foothills.†Evidence of Sasquatch activity has been found in rural Alberta. Stroud, who knows the Canadian wild better than almost anyone, is able to approach the territory with a skeptic’s eye, determining what traces could be real and what could be attributed to other activity. Relying on stealth camera equipment, along with infrared trail cams and thermal imaging, he seeks to go straight to the source and discover the creature—or other force—that’s been baffling scientists for generations. Airs Wednesday, April 8 on Discovery Channel at 9/8 Central and on The Science Channel on Friday, April 10 at 10/9 Central

“Hoopa.†With nearly a lifetime of tracking experience, Stroud may be able to find traces of Bigfoot in the land of the Hoopa Valley Tribe. Surrounded by ancient red cedar forests in northwest California, it’s easy to get lost in the giant shadows, which hide dense black bear territory. Here, Stroud is determined to get irrefutable proof of Bigfoot by catching the creature on film. But first, he must learn about the area. Stroud spends time getting to know the locals and hears tales of sightings over the years, before offering himself to the wilderness, seeking to make the connection of a lifetime. Airs Wednesday, April 15 on Discovery Channel at 9/8 Central and on The Science Channel on Friday, April 17 at 10/9 Central


“Mountain.†The grizzly bear territory is the most remote and dangerous territory of the Canadian Rockies. Here, audio has been captured during a near-fatal encounter, presumably with the Sasquatch. Stroud sets out to the location of the incident, armed with hidden cameras, pheromone chips, hand bells, chimes and testing kits. His goal: to get DNA proof of Bigfoot. It turns out, he’s got a long night ahead of him, filled with strange noises and giant grizzly footprints. By thinking like an animal, he hopes to make a new discovery. Airs Wednesday, April 22 on Discovery Channel at 9/8 Central and on The Science Channel on Friday, April 24 at 10/9 Central.

No one is an expert in the world of Bigfooting, and Les is a relative newcomer to this field.......there's no one I would rather have in a survival situation, but looking/researching Bigfoot is an entirely different thing......he's learning.

 

IMO......as long as you are carrying visible technology, cameras etc., you aren't gonna have much luck with the 'money shot' on camera/video. Believe me......the big lugs are totally hip to visible technology, and will avoid it.

Gigantopithicus is a good starting point since we know for fact they existed in the past. I recall Stroud mentioning it, but I'm not sure he thinks that is what Sasquatch is.

I thought it was one of the best BF TV shows in a LONG time, period.  It captured what being out in the field is like and Les definitely has great methodology and attitude..

I'm honestly in the dark as to the opinion of the BF community on "Rictor", but I watched an interesting video with him interviewing Les Stroud that seems to answer the above question:

Hope I got that right. Rictor asks Les 6 questions, and I believe #6 deals with how Les feels concerning gigantopithicus vs. the paranormal version of BF.
