Guest Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 To expand on my previous post. Anyone who is even remotely serious about Bigfoot research should be furious with this show. I belong to many forums with topics ranging from sports to politics. And many of them have had threads pertaining to this show. And the common consensus is that the show is a joke. I know why. Every sound is a Bigfoot. Every sighting is a legitimate (well almost). Woods feel "Squatchy". Its shows like this that make legit researchers a laughing stock because this is what the world sees as legit researchers in the community.
Cisco Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I can't believe I'm writing this but I'm finding that I enjoy the old MonsterQuest reruns more than Finding Bigfoot. At least the MQ episodes sometimes left you wondering. Finding Bigfoot is like a magic trick that you've figured out how it was done; no longer interesting.
Guest crowe Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I especially enjoyed how Matt thought his echo was a reply. Finding Bigfoot is a comedy goldmine.
Guest spoiler Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I completely disagree that you can't feel someone watching you. You most certainly can. However, I think this show is doing even more harm to the legitimate researchers out there. They talk as if they know for a 100% fact how a bigfoot thinks reacts and its habits. Its truly laughable at times. I guess what I was trying to say was more directed to the program than not, The guy on the program said he didnt even know he had taken a photo of anything until a family member said it looked like BF 3 weeks later, but when the BFRO people show up, all of a sudden he said he was feeling uneasy and felt like someone was watching him. As for feeling someone watching you, I can honestly say I have never felt that, I have been in the woods a million times, I have hunted big game in a lot of different states, including Bears in Montana, I have never had the feeling of someone watching me. Since my encounter I have read about everything I could get my hands on about BF sightings. Some sound very realistic and some not so much, but the one thing that stands out to me is that when someone says they had that feelinig, In most cases those are the encounters that sound that most fake. I'd like someone to explain to me exactly what someone looking at you feels like? As a matter fo fact I think this is a great experiment for the BFRO team to do. try to re-create someone feeling like they are being watched. Laughable isn't it? To expand on my previous post. I have to agree, Its like every place they go, everything they see, every sound they hear is a Squatch. Just once I'd like them to go to a place and say "nope" No Squatch here! I guess we dont know if they are only showing the programs that they actually found something. Lets hope so. I like the woman on the show, Not sure of her name. but she is more of a skeptic than all of the others put together, Thats refreshing when she actually sees or hears something that she can't explain. A ton more realistic to me.

I have had the feeling someone was watching me before. But it had nothing to do with BF. I can't explain how that feels if you haven't experienced it yourself. I am not big on the "I had a feeling" crowd either and totally agree that a lot of times they have the most inconsistency in their stories. With the BFROs obvious lack of objectivity I doubt they will ever try something like recreating that feeling. Edited July 5, 2011 by SquatchingOne

Who needs experts in the fields of biology, film and audio analysis to objectively examine the evidence in an unbiased perspective when you have MM to tell everyone what they should believe? WAIT! It's just those darn editors putting words in his mouth.
Guest Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Been watching all the episodes cause I got nothing to do at night. Apparently everything found on the show is evidence of bigfoot. A snapped branch or a moved leaf is definitive proof of sasquatch. If thats the case I have a city of Bigfoot around my place. Maybe I should call Matt?
Guest Forbig Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Jeepers Creepers they went to a bunch of different places that have plenty of reported activity with reports from the locals but did you really expect them to walk out of the woods carrying the head of Bigfoot? Really? I enjoyed all the shows and if you didn't I have to say Bigfoot is probably not your thing. Would you rather they walk in, yawn a couple times, roll their eyes, then make up laim excuses for every sound and noise that could be Bigfoot? If everybody keeps complaining we will have nothing to watch and then we can complain about that. Id rather see them keep hiting all these "hot" palces to see what they come up with. It's nice to be able to check out these spots from my television and see if I'd like to go there without risking my own time and money. This show is funding the search and they just may be "Finding Bigfoot" if it is out there to find. Keep the cameras rolling, cover the ground where everyone believes it is at, and if we get a couple of laughs all the better but this is exactly what’s needed to find it.

I would be behind it 100% if they would show a little objectivity but they haven't. If this is the best we can get for a show about searching for bigfoot we then things are not good. If the community wants to ever be taken seriously. The research needs to be done by someone who is objective. Plain and simple. This show is not. They are making the field of BF research look like quacks. Let me say this again they are NOT helping. They are being laughed at.
slabdog Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I gotta tell ya...I am not enamored with some of the artistic liberties that the producers have taken.......but I kinda like the show! Entertaining as heck.
Incorrigible1 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I avoid it. It's the personalities involved. I've never posted on any other BF forum than BFF. I have no horse in this race. I do not care for the lead guy. Everything is not a sasquatch. This from a fan of Monsterquest, Josh whatever his name is, and other such.

I believe they do show some objectivity because Matt did suspect that guy down south of not being truthfull. He didn't believe him at all and if he wasn't being objective he would of completely went along with him without question. I don't care if anyone is laughing because Bigfoot is not an exact science I just want somebody to prove it's real and the BFRO has many years of experience perfecting what works and what doesn't even when it seems silly. If they get over excited about something I could care less let them laugh all they want the important thing is that they are investigating everything everywhere and now they are getting the support they need. If they find something they will have the much needed funding for DNA testing... Does it upset some of us because we want to be the one finding Bigfoot or maybe because we’re afraid they won’t find Bigfoot? When the BFRO gets down and dirty or looks silly my hat goes off to them for that much because they're giving it one hell of a shot. Case in point: take the McKenzie river footage they investigated. If the BFRO was a phony bunch of optimistic Bigfoot pushers they would have cut the part when they proved to everyone that it was the size of the average human. That’s one sighting I liked but they disappointed the audience and I when they found out it wasn’t nine feet tall. They still gave it some slight hope but most of us left that scene with our heads hanging low. On the plus side it boosted the BFRO's reputation for being “true to the fact†type of investigators. Guest Tsalagi Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Agree with you guys. This show is going to turn the search for Bigfoot into a joke. Monster Quest was so much better and they had real scientists involved! It's so funny how BFRO is involved in this and every sound in the woods is Bigfoot yet if you have ever talked to BFRO people they are the first to laugh at you if you call in a report. Can we take up a collection to buy Renae a different set of glasses and hat?
Guest Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Please note that I merged two groupings of successive posts made by member Forbig. In one case there were three posts in a row made by a singular member. None of the content of any of the merged posts was edited in any manner. I also merged successive posts made by member spoiler. If there is any actual editing of posts in which content is altered, members will see a note from the member of Staff who edited it depicting the reason it was altered. When merging posts, that option is not available to us. That's why I'm making notification with this post. There is already a thread discussing the Finding Bigfoot series within the Media Forum. I will move this thread there and merge it with the existing one that pre-dates this thread. The first post from the thread that I moved here begins at post #433. As a courtesy, a link will be left in the previous forum it was posted in to its new destination.
Guest BootsnSaddles Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 If there is a positive side to the show it is that a couple of well known videos and photos have probably been disproved by having Bobo stand in for the Bigfoot and finding that the supposed bigfoot was no larger than Bobo in height or mass. The Silverstar Peak episode, the McKenzie River Oregon video, and the one where Bigfoot grabs a candy bar from a stump come to mind. Maybe “disprove†is a bit strong a word, but the Bigfoot research community should no longer be using those as evidence for its existence.
