poignant Not trying to get off topic hear but seeing this picture sent chills down my spine ! The facial structure of that image is scary close to what I seen !!!! The ears and the eyes and skin color are not right atall and there is not quite enough brow ridge, the nose is not quite wide enough either but the cheek bones and the lower face are scary close ! When I scrolled down to this image I got goose bumps !

Melissa- that's not what that's about, but I agree it will happen. About happening, there is areas that have room for public input when people get off their duff and participate. I just hope that anybody that really cares about how it plays out is not apathetic at that time.

Thanks Gershake. I have a problem with a quote from the geneticist referenced in the article.

His biggest question about the new press release is how the hypothesized hybrid could possibly occur. “There’s a logical problem there, from a biology perspective. If Sasquatch is a hybrid between a primate more distant from the great apes and a human, their genomes would be incompatible. They wouldn’t be able to reproduce.â€

Where does Ketchum suggest the paternal primate is "more distant from the great apes and a human"? I don't think she does. Sadly, this sort of misrepresentation is popping up everywhere.

The DNA came from the Sierra Kills, one juvenile and one adult correct?

Just the adult, for now.

I had to play with an excerpt.

-------------------------------------------

David Coltman, a geneticist with the University of Alberta, believes that plenty of caution is needed before interpreting this press release as proof of Bigfoot. “Until you see anything in peer review, there is nothing really to go by. And even if it does appear in a peer-reviewed journal, that doesn’t mean it’s true,†he said. "And even if it's true, that doesn't mean Bigfoot is real. And even if Bigfoot meets you on a trail and rips your head off, or tears open all your rabbit hutches and eats them, or trashes your campsite while you're out fishing...or come to think of it, even if one did all those things to everyone in the scientific community, that doesn't mean it's true."

-------------------------------------------

My stuff in bold (because you would be amazed).

And doesn't it just feel like that sometimes...?

A lot people seem to be making up their own version of the press release. I wonder if they even read it.

This is what I found in her statement about this particular comment..

Hominins are members of the taxonomic grouping Hominini, which includes all members of the genus Homo. Genetic testing has already ruled out Homo neanderthalis and the Denisova hominin as contributors to Sasquatch mtDNA or nuDNA. “The male progenitor that contributed the unknown sequence to this hybrid is unique as its DNA is more distantly removed from humans than other recently discovered hominins like the Denisovan individual,†explains Ketchum.

Bolding mine. But, I should also add - Igor Burtsev has released his own "take" on the work..... So, some of this could be coming out of "Camp Igor".. I have no idea, it's just a guess (but I am willing to bet it's a good one).

^^^ Melissa that leaves from about 600,000-800,000 years(?) to whenever we split from the chimp/bonobos. So we're looking at probably at least 5 millions years, plenty of time.

We need to keep track of what is coming out from the Ketchum Camp first-hand...can anyone volunteer? All other re-posts and blog entries should be relegated to bottom pile.

I'm at work and won't get home till late...

e.g.

First Hand from the Ketchum Study Group:

- Burtsev's statement (date? source?)

- Ketchum's FB statement

- Ketchum's TV interview (CNN and Skype)

- Paulides' blog

- Paulides' radio interview on C2C

Something like that...

If it hasn't already been done, I've added a link below, on what may be possibly going on?

On the Bigfoot subject, my book project should be out in 2013? The publisher is feverishly working on this avenue. There will be many controversial things involved in the Bigfoot/Sasquatch, told there. The reader will decide what they believe...

No stone was left unturned.
