Guest
I've wasted a lot of time on the BFF. That's why I am now limiting that time. Rod, If you are having fun then it is not wasting your time to be here. Sooner or later everyone here will know the results of the research. I fear that we have skeptics here who are telling us their version of the truth. Sometimes I believe that skeptics post items just to stir us all up, and to cause us not to believe in these projects. I could post all kinds of lies here, and who could definitively call me a liar? There are people here whom I trust, and I'm hanging on, sometimes by my fingernails, but I'm still hanging here waiting with the rest of you. With all of the BF smoke being blown I'm thinking that there is a fire someplace, so results will be published and released to the general public. National news will cover it, probably some will make jokes, but still the DNA will prove their existence.
Guest ajciani
This comes second hand from a person who works for Dr. Ketchum. Apparently, Ketchum missed the conference because she had to run off to Europe (Germany, I think). This trip was for the purpose of meeting the reviewers. This is actually rather unusual, and Ketchum was surprised by it. The normal review process typically takes the form of an anonymous back-and-forth, when there is some point of contention. Even knowing who the reviewers are is highly unusual, let alone meeting them face-to-face. I suspect that the reviewers wanted to meet Ketchum face-to-face, to make certain that this wasn't some sort of trick. If they went this far, it is certain that the results presented in the paper are substantial. Also, if the destination of Germany is correct, then I suspect that the reviewers are at Max Planck Institute, and are possibly even the authors of the Denisova paper. This is only my suspicion though, but if I was the editor on such a paper as Ketchum submitted, they would be high on the list of reviewers. Still think it's an unknown primate. thanks for the update Aj,
bipedalist Posted October 2, 2011 BFF Patron Share Posted October 2, 2011 I sure hope the reliability/validity on this report is at least 97%...... Kind of a "wow" sort of update for sure...a German forum with a world reknown science center reviewer would be nice.
Guest
Wow, AJ, we were there, sitting outside the conference hall, and the information we had on the spot suggested that your information is lacking some facts. We know one lady that went in and demanded a refund and received it. Edited October 2, 2011 by darkwing
southernyahoo
We shouldn't assume that the people at the conference had the facts about where the review was taking place DW. If anyone there did, they would likely have an NDA. This would be of international interest, and a status quo crusher in anthropology. So ajciani's post doesn't surprise me. Guest Forbig
It's nice how we're all rooting (some of us secretely in the closet) for Dr. Ketchum. Even the ones that try to put in a dig now and then are holding off to see what happens. If it turns out good even the hard core skeptics will party with the rest of us. Guest
Southernyahoo, we found this on Facebook of one of the organizers saying the video was taken in anticipation of her not appearing. Note the date. They apparently knew something well in advance, so the claims of a trip to Germany smells fishy. Just my 2 cents worth on the matter. Guest slimwitless
I don't see how that necessarily casts doubt on ajciani's "revelation". The second post clearly states the only reason Ketchum wouldn't attend is if "she has to be elsewhere". Well, maybe she had to be elsewhere. I'm not saying it's true but to paraphrase Jane Goodall's comments on sasquatch, I want it to be true.
Guest gershake
That also reinforces that it might be out of peer review.
Guest
Okay, so a lot of the anticipation and all is via the rumor mill....which does involve her or reflect on her or her integrity, etc. It's kind of hard to tell what's what. Some threads about it are so loooong, sorting through is not simple. Sorry if I jumped the gun earlier.
Guest RedRatSnake
Hi Guys I think missing the time is ok as long as an excuse came right from Her, anytime there are people waiting and relying on you there has to be some sort of responsibility, a quick email or text to explain the no show would have done the trick, Jezz everyone has a cell phone or laptop these day's. I have not been too much into this study cause there have been too many promises over the years, now even this one seems to have it's problems, i certainly hope very soon it is going to produce something positive, just like the rest of you guys ~ Tim
Guest
This was Pualides organization's original statement they provided when I first posted about the scheduled appearance on my blog: If we stated that David Paulides/North America Bigfoot Search (NABS) and Dr Ketchum were going to speak about DNA then the implication is that the paper has been submitted, we cannot deny or confirm this has occurred. If the DNA paper has not completed peer review by the time of the conference, then Mr. Paulides and Dr. Ketchum either will not appear or will discuss other topics. Don't know what that says other than they (Paulides and Ketchum) always had a plan B.
