Why has bigfoot not been listed as an endangered species?

The fish and wildlife service has nearly 8000 employees.  With 8000 employees employed by the Fish and Wildlife Service there should be enough eye witnesses to justify Bigfoot to be listed as an Endangered Species. What's holding up the process to list Bigfoot?

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (fws.gov)  Read some facts below:

With more than 560 National Wildlife Refuges, 70 national fish hatcheries, numerous regional and field offices across the country and thousands of active conservation projects, the nearly 8,000 employees of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service have a lot going on. Here are a few of the latest news stories from across the Service...

In the preamble of the Endangered Species Act, Congress recognized that our diverse assemblage of plants and animals are of “esthetic, ecological, educational, recreational, and scientific value to our nation and its people.” It further expressed concern that many of the nation’s native species were in danger of becoming extinct............................

The authors of the ESA made an unmistakable strong statement regarding the preservation of our nation’s natural heritage.  For 50 years, the law has protected America's imperiled plants and animals—from the carnivorous green pitcher plant of southeastern wetlands, to the western snowy plover of northwestern beaches, to the iconic polar bear of the Arctic..................

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) currently protects 1,662 U.S. species and 638 foreign species. With ongoing threats such as habitat loss and new threats like climate change, a commitment to species conservation and the ESA continues to be vital. Learn more about the importance of conserving...

Look at just a few of the recent class A sightings (eye witness) from the data base of the Bigfoot Research Organization.

Coos County Oregon   Class A = eye witness    Class B = bigfoot evidence

  • October 2004 (Class A) - Early evening close encounter near Bandon by mushroom hunters leaving the forest
  • August 2004 (Class B) - Several tracks found near County dump for Bandon
  • Summer 1996 (Class A) - Sighting by two young men on motorcycles
  • November 1995 (Class A) - Daytime sightings by hunters near Headwaters Ridge in Elliot State Forest
  • February 1980 (Class A) - Large Bipedal Animal Seen Crossing Rural Road and Climbing Cutbank
  • Fall 1971 (Class A) - Witness recalls face to face encounter with creature near Myrtle Point
  • Fall 1949 (Class A) - One audible and two visual, early evening encounters by a coastal witness near the North Fork of the Coquille River

Because pixies, gnomes and orcs are not considered a REAL species…..just like Bigfoot.

Let's try to come up with better answers.

Fantasy creatures don't make footprints with dermal ridges or movies such as the Patterson-Gimlin videos. Eyewitness evidence is enough to send a captured killer to prison for life so bigfoot needs to be taken seriously.

Do our Fish and Wildlife biologist actively search for bigfoot? Why not?

Please try to answer questions in a logical manner.

I am being logical. Completely logical. You’re just not listening.

They don’t search for Bigfoot because it’s a mythological creature. If you don’t believe me? Go to Barnes and Noble and look at where Bigfoot related books reside in the store.

I feel like Bigfooters are detached from reality. Bigfoot IS a mythological creature….that IS reality.

So don’t shoot the messenger! But why do you think I harp on the community to produce a body? Bigfoot right now resides with Pixies and Gnomes in the eyes of the government. Except maybe for the top brass that have all of the data and secretly know better. And anyone that suggests that they are a real biological species is ridiculed and ran out.

This is why they don’t look for Bigfoot. The stigma attached to it. And the repercussions that follow. Full stop. I am being dead serious! Sorry!🤷‍♂️

That is the last website on the planet that any Government biologist would visit.

Other than the fact that the ESA does not apply to bigfoot you mean?    Or that the most basic criteria for listing have not been documented scientifically?    Aside from those things, no, no reason not to list.  But it'd be every bit as scientifically valid to list unicorns and leprechans.

Here is a direct path to getting Bigfoot on an endangered species list or just a protection act that protects them for all time. Because an endangered species can be removed from the list if their numbers recover. (Actually we have no real data on Bigfoot numbers)

PROVE THE SPECIES REAL. We need a part of the animal or all of it.

The first step in an ESA listing is the petition. The second tends to be the lawsuits to force the agency into action. The third step is the agency study.

Sasquatchery hasn't even taken the first step. It's premature to say that it doesn't apply. That decision belongs to the courts.

That is why the study is required.

Supposedly they already found them.

.......Petitions are formal requests to list a species. The ESA requires that we make and publish specific findings on a petition. We or the NMFS (for most marine species) are required to make a finding within 90 days of receiving a petition (to the extent practicable) as to whether there is “substantial information” indicating that the petitioned action may be warranted.........

Studies are only conducted on real species. So first comes proof, then Biology, then Judges….

No, it’s backward there. But it IS in the Congressional record.

That would even be SOMETHING if it related to our field. But alas no Government whistleblower has come forward claiming the US Government is in possession of Bigfoot bodies.

Says who? Got some documentation on that, Partner? The petition says that the evidence (film, footprints, testimony) establishes existence, the fact that such evidence is rare indicates low density, and the fact that the department has never conducted a study, never responded to reports, and never documented anything regarding the species proves that they have no scientific basis to refute the petition.
