Guest DWA
One of the best nights I ever spent was an all-nighter hoping for a road-cross in the TX Big Thicket. Just the being out. Happy Holidays and happy hunting.
coffee2go
This is an interesting historical account of a Wildman that was captured in that area of Florida back in the 1880s. http://www.exploresouthernhistory.com/ocheeseewildman.html
Lake County Bigfooot
In Clarksville TN, making our way down to Florida to spend Christmas with family around Clearwater, nice break from the snow and cold, hope to get a little squatching in as well...last night listened to David Paulides talking about the missing people in the national parks, got a bit creeped out after hearing that. People were apparently carried, or drug, miles into remote areas, clothes removed, sometimes consumed, but generally shoes were missing, and yes in some cased the individuals were apparently eaten. I mean this does line up with what Native Americans told of this creature, which is certainly not the case for most or many, but at least some of them still engage in this type of behavior, very scary, like right out of your worst night mare stuff. I guess now I will have to read his 411 missing people books because I'm hooked on the subject. I hope that the ones that visit me are not looking for a Christmas Tutkey....Perhaps Albert Osterman was being fattened up if you know what I mean....Many miners turned up missing in the late 1800s under mysterious circumstances as well... georgerm
This is an interesting historical account of a Wildman that was captured in that area of Florida back in the 1880s. http://www.exploresouthernhistory.com/ocheeseewildman.html Thanks for posting the web site Coffee, and it was quite interesting. Are there anymore facts from this expedition such as a stuffed BF in some explorers attic or in a small town museum.
coffee2go
That would be a great find wouldn't it?
Trogluddite
Another cross-reference for this thread... The full report is in the Allegheny County thread, but the coordinates Latitude: 40.368469Longitude: -80.054164 place this bigfoot in the middle of an urban bird park in the middle of the day. If you look at the location on Google Earth, you'll know why this strikes me as improbable.

coffee2go
What a beautiful area georgerm. There certainly are a lot of foresta and remote areas surrounding your city. One mile from town would be very close to an urban area. Any additional details on the sighting?
georgerm
I went to investigate a rumor about a BF that was shot up by Reedsport, and the store clerk told me about his close encounter that happened about 15 years ago. Next to the store, there is about 20 acres of thick willows, grassy meadows and wetlands next to the Coos River. They were spotlighting deer and a large set of eye was spotted 7' off the marsh in the cat tails. The eyes moved slowly about 20', then began the approach the two boys. They determined it was not a deer or Elk. They backed off quickly. After the report, I took my two dogs and explored the area, and it's still quite remote, but the BFs would need to cross highways or swim to get there, or they are still there in hiding! You can find this area on google map by finding Coos Bay, then find Eastside, and look at the area between Eastside and the Coos River.
Lake County Bigfooot
Merry Christmas, hope all are doing well this season, Spent a night driving around state forest in northern Florida. interesting dirt/sand roads, got a little freeked out by a vehicle following us at one point. Very Squatchy area beyond a doubt, I expected to see one around every turn, but no luck. I could not get my nerve up to stop and investigate further, just too thick and too unknown. I also passed through Chiefland, in northern florida, where several sightings have occurred on roadways. I mean all of the forested areas of Florida, as well as the Everglades have had sightings. I eventually plan to move here in the next decade or so, hopefully less, so I have an interest in where the activity is taking place, and will be interested in finding a property that has potential.... coffee2go
Wish it wasn't so darn cold up in northern MN. I would love to get up to the cabin and do some night/evening drives on the back roads. Being in Florida sounds like a much better idea.
