and inc gets more +s, well said sir.

some of the latest naysayers were proponents as well..... consider that norse. bottom line was they did speak their peace and it didn't set well.

your point about hunters sharing observations cuts two ways... it is wise as a hunter to listen to other successful experienced hunters. but when a hunter has observations of their own also that don't jive with claims (or the laws of physics) then you have to wonder about what's being said.....sort of like if a guy told you to call in turkeys with a buck grunt call , it wouldn't add up.

why soak in info that may seem off ? or info presented by someone who's woodsmanship skills potentially may not be as keen as their enthusiasm?

the tree hasn't been the only thing in question here, read back through this thing and its more a culmination of things leading up to it.

many of us started off listening respectfully with very high hopes for this that faded as it went on.

I agree that we were not there to witness events, and I also agree that those with a promising area hoping to collect a body would do well to keep a lid on it until its a done deal.

fwiw, I learned long ago if I located a mature buck to keep it under wraps until I had it in the truck. discovery of a resident BF wouldn't be any different, for me anyways.

finally, nothing would silence naysayers better than a big plate of crow. I sincerely hope Bipto manages to serve a big dish of it here, I really do.....but putting down the efforts of a successful forum staff because of questions instead of ignoring the "questioneers" doesn't seem fitting ...... especially since his BFF1 was ran as a much more skeptical operation than this version.

But as of yet? No such animal as a successful squatch hunter......no squatch hunting manual, no primos squatch calls, nothing.

If one is to be written? We need threads like this...

We will never get anywhere throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Just who threw out said bath water? Just who was it that controlled the questions, as much as possible, and left in a huff when questions about an impossible event rose to the top?

Um, that was the OP, Bipto. Will he allow questions in whatever venue he surfaces? I've my sincere doubts, considering his recent departure.

Bipto........I appreciate your willingness to share your and NAWAC,s experiences in area X with the forum and I am surprised you stuck around as long as you have. Can you PM me with any updates that you can share as I feel you guys on on track to put this topic to rest once and for all. Some of the information that you have already shared may help myself and others learn a bit more about bf and especially about their behaviors and any new ways of observing them. Thanks.....UPs

I honestly don't think he left in a huff he knew it was a mess when he got back many of us warned him about it. He just thought it would be easier to just walk away for now rather than sit and defend himself over and over and over. BTW remember this is his forum. We all kinda owe it to the guy or we wouldn't be here either.

No he left in a huff.

Read his parting post. Very huffy.

I may or may not have some info into areax via an adjourning property.

It rhymes with no bf activity having been reported in the area.

Ever.

Except for Area X. Is bf capable of containing himself to a set square acrage?

Have you ever been to the Ouachita National Forest, hiking, fishing, hunting or camping?

Then maybe if a bunch of other members hadn't been running around like the world was coming to an end he might not have thought it so bad.

No, it's not his forum. The people who run it now saved it, so we kinda owe them.

Finally listened to Ep 60 of TBS and clearly heard them describe the tree swaying break and jump incident. They said it looked healthy on one side but the other side showed some kind of damage the run of the tree from lightening or rot with the trunk open and the break happened at 20 feet up or so and it didn't fall all the way to the ground. Possible 30 ft drop of something down to the ground with a hard thud. Doesn't sound that hard to break to me. Not that it matters.

^^^ An earlier incident than the break many were questioning. The 2ft oak break was a hot off the press event. I felt that when more follow up on that came in things might have cleared up (tree was smaller, diseased, propped up from wind damage, etc.)...

 ^^ plus one, agreed.

while I applaud past efforts,  his forum imploded and he pulled the plug. if it weren't for guys like Bipedalist, Masterbarber, HRP, See , Gigantor and some significant others there would be no BFF now.... so if its  a forum you appreciate , imo, we owe them .

Well, I'm all for the expression of opinions. But when nothing's backing them up and all we get, over and over, is the same old same old "it can't happen and I can give you nothing that backs it up.....so it isn't"

How about that unknown primate DNA?

So lets just throw some crap on the wall and see if it sticks? This is the kind of crap that is embedded within the over 1000 posts in this thread and you wonder why Brian would quit posting? If you are going to accuse him of hoaxing, at least back it up with some names and facts. I can think of quite a few reasons why some other landowner may make that claim.....I would too if it were mine regardless of what I actually experienced.

It appears there won't be anything other than pot shots on this thread anymore......

This is not his forum, its everyone's forum.  All of the members make it a great place to talk BF, weather your a scientist who believes anything or an armchair skeptic, everyone has a place here.

Starting the BFF doesn't make you into some kind of Bigfoot Godfather, "I'll tell you a story you can't refuse".

Bipto needs to remember that we are not just avitars, we are people.  People with feelings, who want to make sure the time, trust, and even money they invest in him and his NAWAC is not being misplaced.  Outlandish claims sometimes need a little proof just as a reassurance nobody is being played for a fool.
