  1. Rockape, I can tell you for sure the answer is NO. It has nothing to do with the Erikson project. KB

  2. Science must not need or want a body very bad. Do you know of any scientists out there in the boonies with a .300 mag looking for one? If you are going to shoot one "for the good of the whole", I'll suggest you be extra careful in taking one down by making sure that first shot does the job instantly. You likely won't get that second shot if you wound it. Since they usually do not travel alone, they might justly feel that you should also be "taken" for for the good of the whole. One thing I have learned is that if one of the males is approaching you and is deliberately making noise as it walks; you danged well better be looking behind you for the one that is really trying to get close to you to show you who is the real pro of the woods. Maybe you can get one of those "professional trackers" who can track a bare foot man over a quartzite ridge and just have him follow the BF for a a few days. picking up hair from it bed and scat from its porta-potty. Like the lab frog you mentioned whose body divulged information for years, a big pile of BF scat and a bunch of hair samples ought to be all the scientists need to do satisfy their need to know for years . They are only "pixies and gnomes" to those that don't have a clue. Those folks don't need to know anything more. It would serve no useful purpose to the "whole" of either group.

  3. I have also heard someone describe it and I think it's real. But I will say this, if it was mine I would think twice about releasing it. If you notice, the haters are everywhere. I have never in my life seen such disgusting language, threats, you name it, that has been thrown at others who have shared. Another good reason for those that want proof, go out and get it yourself.

  4. This particular area is known for Bigfoot activity by local residents that go back a generation or two. Some have just accepted it with no problems. Others have moved away terrified to stay anywhere near there. It is not an easy thing for many to accept, that there are things that do go bump in the night that are not cute fuzzy little animals, but large, powerful and sometimes stinky critters that could rip you apart if they chose to. Fortunately, most would rather avoid us, but chance sightings and encounters will continue to happen....

  5. No Sir; your kill club does NOT represent humanity as a whole, and that is an absolute certainty. It seems to me your "Kill Club" is approaching their goal in a bass-ackward fashion. The "logical first step at understanding their intelligence, eating habits, vision, hearing and sense of smell" should come BEFORE killing one. In doing that, and first "understanding their intelligence", it just might be that you really don't care to kill one after all. And that's a good thing. (Deliberately killing one might very well put you and your members in the history books, but overall, you would not like the kind of attention you and the group would receive from "humanity as a whole".) Can't figure out how you could learn much about their "their intelligence, eating habits, vision, hearing and sense of smell" from the body of one. Yes, there are many people who do know the range and population density in various specific areas of this country. It is well known to these folks that those BF that are part of family groups in the south/southeast have specific foraging areas for the seasons but their typical overall home range remains the same. They don't migrate, they just claim a lot of land. I personally have never considered killing one. Have known a lot of people who claimed they would if they ever saw one. About ten or so of those folks later saw one or more. One man saw three walking across an open pasture less than one hundred yards from his deer stand. Like the rest of those ten or so, he never fired a shot. After looking at them through his rifle scope, he forgot about shooting one. Hopefully you will react the same way if you get in that situation.

  6. is there a video? ... perhaps, you never know what someone may be sitting on.....but would it end speculation? imo, no....another 40 yrs later , unless the proverbial "type specimen" is discovered also , the debate will carry on much like it has with the pgf.
