  1. . I think it matters. It matters to people who come here to share an experience they have had with people who will listen with an open mind and not ridicule them, call them liars/hoaxers, tell them they are hallucinating, on drugs, or crazy. Those folks don't come here for proof. They don't need proof. They need to discuss their experience with others who understand and can help them make sense of it. This is not a research forum. Yes, tough questions are asked, even by me sometimes, as they should be. But some witnesses know what they saw without a doubt in their minds. They don't need me, you, or anyone else to tell them what it was or wasn't. They just need to talk about it.

  2. Not every time... Faherbach's track trait distribution curve. Science supporting the claim.

  3. I don't know if BF exists or not, but in my opinion, saying that it absolutely doesn't exist because science has not been able to test and verify that it does, is no different or any less ridiculous than saying that a knock in the woods had to have been a BF, because nothing else knocks on trees in the woods.

  4. Chele, I don't direct my comments at any one person. I don't jump into witness threads to tell them they are wrong. I only participate in threads that have a relation to the larger question. I stay away from threads started by someone to discuss their sighting. In fact, I only really get involved anymore in response to what I perceive as the nonsensical postings of certain individuals defaming science in general from a self proclaimed position of authority. If asked, such as will did, what I think might be the source of someones sighting, I will respond with my opinion. But I don't go around dumping my opinion into every thread.

  5. It is funny to watch this two person orgy of self congratulations. I wonder if the forum will collapse under the weight of your two person mutual admiration society. "You're awesome" "No, you're more awesome, bro." "Seriously, did you see how awesome I was just there?" "That was the most awesome ever, bro" "Do you remember that time I was super awesome in the woods? That was awesome!" "The woods are scary, bro. You're so awesome that you spend so much awesome time there. Other people just don't understand how awesome you are. We should tell them a thousand times. "

  6. Moderator Statement: I am reopening this thread. From this point forward, everyone needs to stay on topic. The topic is NOT one members posting style. If you have an issue with a post someone has made, REPORT IT. I have spent 2 hours this morning - before work - making edits and sending notifications out because of the mess in this thread. Back on topic or you will receive warning points (or additional warning points). Now, I need coffee (Maybe I should have had coffee first!).

  8. No one knows what they do and I'd go as far as to say that the vast majority on here that would do x or y won't actually do it when the time comes. People in general act very, very differently to how they perceive themselves when things come on top. I could tell you a tonne of stories of how big tough guys freeze in moments when things come on top, moments when they "shouldn't" freeze but they do because they don't have what they really think they have or what they may have on the outside, inside of them, and it's what's inside that matters in situations like we are talking about. Alternatively I've seen people that you wouldn't initially perceive to be help in a tough situation come through with flying colours and shock me. But in general people are not as big and tough as they think they are, and the people that don't think they're that tough at times would surprise us all with what they actually are capable of.
