If MIB leaves then the skeptics have scored another victory. One by one legitimate researchers get tired of the crap and leave. Is that the chronic skeptic tactic? Silence those that contribute evidence? Note to administrators: That sort of thing will kill this website. I can see that people are becoming reluctant to post experiences because they get pounced on by the skeptics. Much of what happens in the field does not lend itself to being provable. Provable or not I want to hear what others experience.4 points

Truth? In the time I've been here I haven't seen you add anything to a conversation, all I see is your snarky one line quips and comments taking away, distracting and derailing topics ... ending discussions I would like to see continue because I might learn something. Are you here for any reason other than to stroke your ego by intellectually bullying others? That's a serious question, not the insult it probably looks like. I'm trying to solve the puzzle, not just talk about it as a form of entertainment. I don't care about your faux-intellectual wrangling. I want to hear from the witnesses. Y' know what? Some are indeed full of crap. My ego is not wrapped up in abusing people just because I don't believe them. I listen, I judge, I move on. Nowhere on that list is pronouncing my judgment. Maybe I don't belong here. Folks here have chased most of the witnesses off and gagged the rest. If you think about it, without the witnesses, a bigfoot discussion is pretty much a mental masturbation exercise. That's not what I came here for. People wonder why BF hasn't been proven. The conduct right here on BFF illustrates the answer. Ego ahead of understanding. MIB3 points

Victory? How so? Legitimate researchers making claims should be able to provide evidence and shut up the chronic skeptics, no? A true victory would be for those making grandiose claims to provide compelling evidence to shut up the skeptical once and for all. All we hear is crickets insofar as evidence, but the stories are good, I suppose. Maybe those becoming reluctant to post their experiences are getting wise to the fact that not everyone will buy their story without evidence, will ask uncomfortable questions about the claims, and will become frustratingly persistent when those making the claims cop out by not providing answers, and deflecting from their lack of evidence by calling the skeptics "Meanies." Provable or not, all are welcome to post their experiences. While not provable, they can be good reads. While not provable, is a bit of evidence too much to ask for? A note to the membership - We will not moderate whether a claim is true or not. We moderate member interaction, not truth. We also allow you to make any claims you'd like, but you won't be protected because someone doesn't believe you, or wants evidence.1 point

Then why don't you just post it hiflier ? You have no room to talk seeing how you constantly go after DWA. I don't think dmaker needs your help. Lack of scientific proof means nothing to those of us who have seen them. So what dmaker thinks means nothing to us either. Then there are people who know someone who has seen one and believe them because they know the person and know the person is honest. Of which I believe DWA has mentioned before, he knows such a person and if 1 person has seen one then so have other's. To just ignore this fact or think everyone is hullucinating, making crap up, or seeing some other animal is ridiculous.1 point

First, the latter: essentially zero or actually zero? So your position is similar to that of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, where the population of the Universe is zero, due to the fact that the actual population is 0.something with so many zeros that any significant digits out there are likely the figment of someone's imagination? Of course you don't know me, so my credibility must therefore be zero, but from my perspective of course your response is also equally merit-less as it fails to address the question at all ('large ape' is a poor descriptor for starters- when you see them, they don't look like apes! Seriously, the best description is that they look like a person in a Bigfoot costume, a really good BF costume). Instead as a distraction you want all the divergent reports explained. I will do that: they represent the minority of reports, falling off the bell curve. That there is a bell curve is significant. Interestingly also, apparently there are a lot of reports/encounters that have occurred because someone sighted a BF while in a vehicle. In that regard my sighting/encounter is not that unusual. And FWIW, they were certainly not lounging! The act of lounging suggests a chilled state of being, and they were anything but chilled! I get that you simply don't accept any of the evidence thus produced, and given the extraordinary nature of BF, I see that as a perfectly reasonable response. There is IMO no good way to resolve the BF Existence Dilemma as a result, unless by some amazing chance you have your own encounter. That's really it in a nutshell. Prior to my own experience I gave BF no thought or credibility either right up to the point where I was confronted by their reality. That BTW is the sole reason I am active here at all. This site has been really nice in the respect that I have met others (online) that have also had encounters, and their descriptions describe the creatures I saw extremely well. How could they know what the things that I saw looked like?? There really are not many viable explanations and BF being real is one of the few.1 point

The head would define the species. Gigantopithecus was defined by a jawbone and a few teeth. A chunk of tissue puts you in a grey area with DNA. DNA will show a lab that it is some unknown species or worse a variant of man. Some labs might simply say unknown species and leave it at that. If it was nearly human, then they could claim it is just human with genetic anomalies. Then were are you? Right back trying to prove the tissue came from what you claim is BF. But the head with all that it shows, and the associated DNA would pin down the species with physical characteristics and associated DNA type. Science would come look, QED (end of proof) the real fun begins. I would hate someone get lazy after shooting a BF and decide that a hand is all he wants to carry out. A human head weights approximately 8 to 12 lbs. A bigfoot head could weigh the same for a female or up to three times that for an adult male, but even that is still transportable. For sure keeping a head refrigerated is going to be a lot easier than an entire body. The whole body would be very difficult to keep cold because of the size. A 800 lb BF is not going to fit in the bed of a pickup with enough ice to keep it cold. I can just see a state policeman stopping someone because a pickup full of ice has a human like foot sticking out and is trailing a stream of bloody water. Face down on the side of the road wearing handcuffs, you are going to have a hard time persuading the officer what you really have going on there. I keep harping in this but if someone does get the body or parts of one they have to already have the plan worked out where they are taking it. Winging it at that point with a bunch of phone calls, you will be labeled a crackpot by most and leave a trail for anyone that wants to take it away from you. As surely as I sit here, I know that is likely to happen.1 point

And you know this....how? Special knowledge, such as our habituator friends spout?1 point

There are also a lot of real things one can ridicule if they choose. A person's choices, especially their "go to" default choices, say a lot about them. MIB1 point

Just speaking for myself here, but I'd find it even stranger if those claims were made about an animal that was already confirmed to exist.1 point

Has anyone actually listened to the link? Coonbo makes it very clear that it is a second or third hand story and that he doesn't believe that it happened.1 point

Maybe so. I see no reason to believe their numbers are diminishing. I didn't say it isn't possible. I said it isn't happening, & if you'll note the disclaimer in red in my sig line, it says that anything I say is likely to be just IMO. But as to your comparison to passenger pigeons, as far as I know we aren't hunting them into extinction for food, nor is their habitat being destroyed, so the passenger pigeon comparison.....doesn't compare.1 point
