Hello DWA, May I just respectfully say that we ARE paying attention. Your goadings that we're not is becoming irritating. We DO read. And people DO need to be accountable when reports come from them. You didn't know who Don Keating was. You cannot come off as better than anyone else. I DO know skeptics who DO know who Don Keating is. It surprised me, but not nearly as much is you ignorance of him. AND your damage control isn't working. The cat's outa the bag. @ ohio bill and Divergent1, I like your ideas. It would take time to get going. There are thousands of reports. The going would be made simpler if we could see the BFRO database as a whole similar to John Green's where we could do our own sorting and sub-sorting. The BFF's SSR database is getting there though and it does include a lot of the BFRO stuff. John Green's format however is the only one in the world presently that allows a near instant look at everything at once. The SSR when it's finished will be the best of the best though IMO. In the meantime? Look around and see if there's are reports where physical evidence was collected and perhaps a thread on the follow ups can be started. I have to be honest here: John Green's original database did have a witness info page cross referenced to the sighting ID numbers. In my revisions I chose to not include it as identity issues these days are much more sensitive than in the "olden" days. I hope everyone understands my discretions in making that decision. Well, that jives... I was going to say more, but it's probably better that I don't. Only: everyone, especially newcomers riding the "Finding Bigfoot" wave, please recognize and avoid the myriad cults of personality that riddle bigfootery. Listen to everyone, but weigh both the arguments and the evidence, and draw the conclusions yourself. Don't ask for or allow someone else, regardless of their stature or position in the field, to do that for you.

Hello Incorrigible1, Here's the thing. Had I gotten complacent, because by simply followed DWA's lead in just trusting the volume of reports as being enough to convince me of existence, I would have stopped there. But I'm more intelligent than that. I have a computer and I can do the work necessary to dig into things. This thread I fear is only the tip of the iceberg. The same speakers tour the circuit. Say the same things, and have the same no proof. Sell the same kind of books and footprint replicas. I've seen the pictures of Mr. Keating with some high profile Bigfoot authors and investigators. And I've read the kudos bestowed upon him by nearly all of those speakers. Tell me conferences aren't just "Finding Bigfoot" held before a live audience; meant and designed to function into perpetuity like the UFO stuff. Tell me that the books and videos are not just selling failures disguised as successes. Not everyone here knew Don Keating but everyone "out there" sure did. One of the things I did in the beginning was contact the PA Bigfoot Society. Mr. Altman's group. They basically sent me away by shuffling my inquiry to Eastern Ohio; dropping Mr. Keating like a hot potato. Not defending him mind you, more like washing their hands of him. He was already gone of course but should it matter? He was one of them wasn't he? Evidently not. But Mr. Altman was another speaker on the circuit like the Meldrums and the and the Powells and the......... Well, ya can't fight city hall they say. I think I might be the only one who has a voice on this? Is voice even the word for it?

I only asked because your profile says No to the sasquatch encounter question. " For those with no actual sightings, I think sitting on the fence is the place to be when it comes to something that can't be immediately proven." To a point yes. But when you weigh in factors like lack of proof when there should be plenty; when you look at what must be discounted in current scientific knowledge in order to make sasquatch possible, it just does not add up. So, yes, one cannot state as a moral certainty that bigfoot does not exist, but one can easily say it is highly unlikely and that there is no real evidence for it.

I certainly think that they have greater evasion and tactical skills than military divisions but I also think that they do get desperate and or careless from time to time. They do make mistakes like any living thing does. You know every inch of your home and land so you could avoid a passing person with ease because you know where to hide and when, so does the sasquatch but just like you they do have to live life by hunting, foraging, sleeping, checking on the pesky neighbors and raising offspring. These activities are where mistakes are made and thus sightings and encounters happen.

The head would define the species. Gigantopithecus was defined by a jawbone and a few teeth. A chunk of tissue puts you in a grey area with DNA. DNA will show a lab that it is some unknown species or worse a variant of man. Some labs might simply say unknown species and leave it at that. If it was nearly human, then they could claim it is just human with genetic anomalies. Then were are you? Right back trying to prove the tissue came from what you claim is BF. But the head with all that it shows, and the associated DNA would pin down the species with physical characteristics and associated DNA type. Science would come look, QED (end of proof) the real fun begins. I would hate someone get lazy after shooting a BF and decide that a hand is all he wants to carry out. A human head weights approximately 8 to 12 lbs. A bigfoot head could weigh the same for a female or up to three times that for an adult male, but even that is still transportable. For sure keeping a head refrigerated is going to be a lot easier than an entire body. The whole body would be very difficult to keep cold because of the size. A 800 lb BF is not going to fit in the bed of a pickup with enough ice to keep it cold. I can just see a state policeman stopping someone because a pickup full of ice has a human like foot sticking out and is trailing a stream of bloody water. Face down on the side of the road wearing handcuffs, you are going to have a hard time persuading the officer what you really have going on there. I keep harping in this but if someone does get the body or parts of one they have to already have the plan worked out where they are taking it. Winging it at that point with a bunch of phone calls, you will be labeled a crackpot by most and leave a trail for anyone that wants to take it away from you. As surely as I sit here, I know that is likely to happen.

maybe for accuracy MM should change the name to "Irritating Bigfoot'
