Here is a good example of how you are wrong with respect to apes. "Gorillas once inhabited the entire rainforest that stretched from the coast of West Africa to the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. During the Ice Age, the climate dried out and the extensive forests receded into two pockets; the gorillas became divided into the Western and Eastern populations, which then developed into three subspecies: the Western Lowland Gorilla lives in the lowland rainforests of West Africa (Congo, Cameroon, Gabon), the Eastern Lowland Gorilla inhabits the forests of eastern Congo, and the Eastern Mountain Gorilla is found only in the Ugandan Bwindi forests and the Rwandan Virunga volcanoes." Source: Gorilla Trecking" As I said during ice ages many inland areas in more temperate regions that were forested became arid grasslands forcing many species to move to survive. Similar transformations happened in Asia. The Himalayas glaciated extensively covering huge areas that are temperate ape habitat today under thick glacial ice sheets. We don't have alligators in the Great Lakes because during every ice age the area is covered with 1000's of feet of ice. The terrain there is still rebounding and raising from being covered during the last ice age. How do you suppose the present animals in the Great Lakes areas survived the numerous ice ages? Deer, moose, bear? Hibernation? They moved out as the ice sheet approached then moved back when it receded. Your stay home theory simply is not the way nature works with major climate changes.4 points

Thanks all for the recent comments, I appreciate them. Sorry I have not been posting much lately, but have had some family members with serious health problems and medical operations that have kept us concerned and busy. The great news for us; they are on the road to recovery. Here's a recent informal report I could not confirm, - but I will check it out. The evidence should still be there if it's legit. The incident reportedly occurred in south Arkansas near an oxbow lake in a remote, thinly populated, wooded, lowlands area that I know is inhabited by more than a few Bigfoot. (I have been down there a lot during the past three years.)This friend called me on his cell phone from a hunting camp this past Saturday. He said he was alone at the camp and had been doing some work with heavy equipment in the area for weeks. He came back to the cabin Friday evening, was pretty tired, fixed himself a meal and carried it outside to eat by a campfire he had rekindled. It was cold but he had on work clothes to keep him warm until the firewood he had put on the coals started to burn. He ate his meal while sitting in a comfortable camp lounge chair. After eating he said he leaned back in the chair and before he knew it, he was sound asleep and snoring. (He didn't say he was snoring, but after sleeping in a camp a few nights with him and others, I can assure you that if he was asleep, he was snoring, and out like a light.) Anyway, sometime in the early morning (no doubt at about 2 PM, the historical "witching hour" for BF messing with people) he woke up so hot that he was sweating. When he opened his eyes he could not believe that he was seeing the flames from the fire were several feet high and his clothes and the chair's frame were hot. When he jumped up to see why the fire was so big, he saw that a huge section of "rich pine" (the heart section of the trunk and roots of an old, dead pine after the rest of the tree has rotted off) had been placed on the fire while he was asleep. The flames from the fire were so high, he moved around to the other side of the fire to try move the pine off the fire. He then noticed that the huge rich pine section consisted of very long, thick section of the heart of very large tree and the large rich pine roots with fresh wet soil still clinging to the base and the root. He said he could barely move the upper end of the pine by pulling it sideways to get it off the fire. He said he could not budge the base/root end because of its weight and the weight of the wet soil attached. He stated he could see a furrow in the ground at the base/roots, and the furrow ran to a small embankment. With a flashlight he said that he could see where the tree had been overturned and pulled from the ground on the down-slope side of the embankment. He said it would have been impossible for ten men to have overturned and pulled the remains of the old pine tree out of the ground. He saw no tracks of anything, including machinery. According to him, whatever tracks were made while pulling the remains of the tree to the fire would have been obliterated by the root ball being drug over them. The ground around the camp and campfire area is hard packed by vehicles. Had it been possible, I would have driven the two hours to check this out. Coincidentally, I received a call from another friend who lives in town near me today. He knows the area in which this event reportedly occurred. He said he (a “hog doggerâ€) had ‘**** hunting friends who had their dogs chased out of the woods in that same area. Because he had hunted so much in the bottoms, when the hunters ask about what he thought would chase trained dogs out of the wood and put them back in their dog boxed cowed down and shaking, he always tells them, “I don’t have a clueâ€. He HAS more than a clue; he has seen more Boogers than I have, and has had his own dogs chased out of the river and creek bottoms in south AR. The odd part of this report is that in one of the reports I investigated in Talladega County Alabama, a friend of mine over there had a somewhat similar thing that happened to a rich pine stump on his place. I’ll see if I added to this thread.2 points

I think the reason BF is able to exploit so many varvious ecological niches is the same as those for species like the cockroach, coyote and crow: They are all generalists. How do I know this is a likely explanation? Well, because they have been spotted in those niches, they have left behind other evidence in those niches, and like all animals they have to eat. Very simple deduction, based on observation. It really isn't such a complex thing y'all. We make it so only by substituting our judgment for others who were there, when we were not. It is compounded again by our inability to imagine what we've never seen to be real. That sure will limit the curiosity of a body... quicker than a cat can lick its butt.1 point

They are called FACTS Crow, I'am not twisting anything, I have demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that a hominoid could in fact make the trek from Asia to America. If your confused? Please reread my reference material........some highlights ARE; 1) Human evidence of habitation predates evidence of controlled fire by 600,000 years in Europe. (1 million years) 2) Beringia was a very mild climate because of Pacific Ocean currents. 3) Some scientists claim evidence of tool manufacture as old as 250,000 years in the Americas. 4) American fossils show a great many "non Arctic" species that made the trek from Asia. Ok so now I understand your position to be that the creature never existed at all versus recently that you thought it went extinct, correct? http://www.worldwildlife.org/species/mountain-gorilla btw, mountain Gorillas endure temperatures below freezing at altitudes around 13000 ft. Evidently without the use of fire, shelter, stone tools or clothing. It's 47 degrees and raining in Ketchikan on this fine day in January.......1 point

The Himalayas, which sit in the middle of most of the worlds ape habitat, not only effect that habitat but are probably the reason for ice ages to begin with: "Some scientists believe that the Himalayas are a major factor in the current ice age, because these mountains have increased Earth's total rainfall and therefore the rate at which carbon dioxide is washed out of the atmosphere, decreasing the greenhouse effect.[42] The Himalayas' formation started about 70 million years ago when the Indo-Australian Plate collided with the Eurasian Plate, and the Himalayas are still rising by about 5 mm per year because the Indo-Australian plate is still moving at 67 mm/year. The history of the Himalayas broadly fits the long-term decrease in Earth's average temperature since the mid-Eocene, 40 million years ago. Matthias Kuhle's geological theory of Ice Age development was suggested by the existence of an ice sheet covering the Tibetan plateau during the Ice Ages (Last Glacial Maximum?). According to Kuhle, the plate-tectonic uplift of Tibet past the snow-line has led to a surface of c. 2,400,000 square kilometres (930,000 sq mi) changing from bare land to ice with a 70% greater albedo. The reflection of energy into space resulted in a global cooling, triggering the Pleistocene Ice Age. Because this highland is at a subtropical latitude, with 4 to 5 times the insolation of high-latitude areas, what would be Earth's strongest heating surface has turned into a cooling surface." Wikapeda This is quite contrary to your assertion that high latitude areas and tropic areas are isolated from producing similar effects during ice ages. Ice ages are a global phenomena with potential effects on species anywhere in the globe.1 point

I would LOVE to be in the field digging! The only relatively close discovery occurred long before I was ever aware of it or believe me I would've been down there and at least got a few pics before the artifacts were carted away. When I hear a story such as the one I gave, I can only go on the credibility of the one telling me since the evidence is long gone. In this case it was the guy I regularly use for heating and AC service. Believe me, this guy would tell a 10' giant where the bear crapped in the buckwheat before he'd lie--he's just outspoken like that so I knew he wasn't lying. Why didn't he grab the evidence? IDK, he wasn't that interested nor did he know I'd be. Most people, when bizarre things come about, just look on and talk about it. Thing is, where do you dig?? Most all finds of any kind are usually lucky....1 point

Since the ice age 650,000 years ago lasted 50,000 years, nearly every mountain of any elevation in North America, Asia, and Europe was heavily glaciated. The polar ice caps extended well into the plains of the US mid West and covered much of Europe. That had to force any species to adapt or move to the few temperate zones near the moderating effects of open ocean waters. That would include apes and humans on any continents they lived on. If they exist now they managed to survive that and other ice ages. Another factor of the ice ages was that a good percentage of the atmospheric water was tied up in thick extensive polar ice caps and glaciers world wide. Some of the low land temperate jungle type climate zones today were very dry areas then because of all the water tied up in the thick polar ice caps and glaciers. Dramatic climate changes accompanied these ice age periods. Normal ocean currents that distributed warm tropical waters to Northern latitudes stopped, blocked by ocean ice. Weather patterns were dramatically different than those today. Evidence of that kind of thing today is that the South Polar region, is now very dry. Basically it is a dry frozen desert. The point of all of this is that apes that exist now, survived those many ice ages and their extremely harsh temperature conditions.1 point

As ex-LEO I would think you would have a unique perspective and insight regarding police reports - being able to read between the lines so to speak. Do you feel that examining the police reports in these cases would be futile for some reason?1 point

I unfortunately cannot chase every rabbit and kick every dog, that is why info is posted in that we sometimes have to do our own research. Also though my point is that many reports have been ruled a hoax by certain groups or individuals and that also doesn't make it true. There are many things regarding science that have been shown to be a hoax, misinformation or just plain wrong that are still being taught in textbooks as hard scientific fact so It is very difficult to determine...Sometimes ya need to look at the body of reports and decide for yourself do you think there might be some validity to it. I believe there is and I have looked at lots over there years on both sides of the argument. I know the Pattersons film has been called a hoax and we even have people who have come forward claiming to be in the suit, and not just one mind you. Now who was in the suit? or was it a SSq...Neither of us can say with any degree of certainty except to say someone is lying and a truth does lie in there somewhere. I am leery of willful ignorance or hubris and find both to be foolish constructs. All I can ask is that we think, We may not agree but if we can think then I will take that1 point

Over 200 Giant digs have been found in recent years. Giant skeleton finds have not made the local/national news since the 1950’s for the most part. It seems in most peoples opinion do to the fear that people would question evolution. If anything a de-evolution. In 2002, National Geographic reported a dozen Cyclops skeletons found in Greece that stood 12-15 1/2 Ft tall. That is 3 humans tall. One eye socket. Giants in history are typically cannibalistic in nature. The reason why I am bringing up giants will all tie into politics, and word happenings. Look at a basketball hoop and add 5 feet. That tall. Greek Mythology talks about war with cyclops learning they had to bring down by taking out their legs rendering them slow and helpless. American Giants (Red Hair Giants) where found with egyptian writing on their tombs have been found in multiple locations. Mystery of The Wisconsin Giants Was this some sort of prank, a hoax played by local farm boys or a demented taxidermist for fun and the attention of the press? The answer is no. The Lake Delavan find of May 1912 was only one of dozens and dozens of similar finds that were reported in local newspapers from 1851 forward to the present day. It was not even the first set of giant skeletons found in Wisconsin. On 10 August 1891, the New York Times reported that scientists from the Smithsonian Institution had discovered several large “pyramidal monuments†on Lake Mills, near Madison, Wisconsin. “Madison was in ancient days the centre of a teeming population numbering not less than 200,000,†the Times said. The excavators found an elaborate system of defensive works which they named Fort Aztalan. “The celebrated mounds of Ohio and Indiana can bear no comparison, either in size, design or the skill displayed in their construction with these gigantic and mysterious monuments of earth — erected we know not by whom, and for what purpose we can only conjecture,†said the Times. On 20 December 1897, the Times followed up with a report on three large burial mounds that had been discovered in Maple Creek, Wisconsin. One had recently been opened. “In it was found the skeleton of a man of gigantic size. The bones measured from head to foot over nine feet and were in a fair state of preservation. The skull was as large as a half bushel measure. Some finely tempered rods of copper and other relics were lying near the bones.†Giant skulls and skeletons of a race of “Goliaths†have been found on a very regular basis throughout the Midwestern states for more than 100 years. Giants have been found in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and New York, and their burial sites are similar to the well-known mounds of the Mound Builder people. The spectrum of Mound builder history spans a period of more than 5,000 years (from 3400 BCE to the 16th CE), a period greater than the history of Ancient Egypt and all of its dynasties. There is a “prevailing scholarly consensus†that we have an adequate historical understanding of the peoples who lived in North America during this period. However, the long record of anomalous finds like those at Lake Delavan suggests otherwise. The Great Smithsonian Cover-Up Has there been a giant cover-up? Why aren’t there public displays of gigantic Native American skeletons at natural history museums? The skeletons of some Mound Builders are certainly on display. There is a wonderful exhibit, for example, at the Aztalan State Park where one may see the skeleton of a “Princess of Aztalan†in the museum. But the skeletons placed on display are normal-sized, and according to some sources, the skeletons of giants have been covered up. Specifically, the Smithsonian Institution has been accused of making a deliberate effort to hide the “telling of the bones†and to keep the giant skeletons locked away. In the words of Vine Deloria, a Native American author and professor of law: “Modern day archaeology and anthropology have nearly sealed the door on our imaginations, broadly interpreting the North American past as devoid of anything unusual in the way of great cultures characterized by a people of unusual demeanor. “The great interloper of ancient burial grounds, the nineteenth century Smithsonian Institution, created a one-way portal, through which uncounted bones have been spirited. “This door and the contents of its vault are virtually sealed off to anyone, but government officials. Among these bones may lay answers not even sought by these officials concerning the deep past.†Two Giant Skeletons Near Potosi, WI The January 13th, 1870 edition of the Wisconsin Decatur Republican reported that two giant, well-preserved skeletons of an unknown race were discovered near Potosi, WI by workers digging the foundation of a saw mill near the bank of the Mississippi river. One skeleton measured seven-and-a-half feet, the other eight feet. The skulls of each had prominent cheek bones and double rows of teeth. A large collection of arrowheads and “strange toys†were found buried with the remains. Giant Skeleton Discovered in Maple Creek, WI On December 20th, 1897 the New York Times reported that three large burial mounds had been discovered near Maple Creek, WI. Upon excavation, a skeleton measuring over nine feet from head to toe was discovered with finely tempered copper rods and other relics. Giant Skeleton in West Bend, WI A giant skeleton was unearthed outside of West Bend near Lizard Mound County Park and assembled by local farmers to a height of eight feet. More about this can be found in Washington County Paranormal: A Wisconsin Legend Trip by local author and investigator J. Nathan Couch. While a normal-sized skeleton of a supposed mound builder (the “Princess of Aztalanâ€) is on display at the site of several large pyramidal monuments near Madison called Aztalan State Park, the goliath remains of Wisconsin’s giants have vanished along with the hundreds of others discovered throughout the midwest. Many have accused the Smithsonian Institution of covering up these discoveries, locking the giant skeletons away and depriving the public of their findings. - See more at:1 point
