  1. At the end of the day, it boils down to this question... Why would the government want to cover up the existence of Bigfoot? What do they have to gain, one way or another? I've read many theories as to why the government would do this... Most are based on some kind of economic incentive, involving habitat and natural resources, while other theories focus on keeping the public in the dark in order to avoid mass hysteria or fear about using our national parks. Again, neither theory holds water, in light of other species, people and organizations that have or have had a very real and direct impact on natural resources and public morale. Why Bigfoot and not a rare species of owl? Why Bigfoot and not Exxon? Why Bigfoot and not one of the hundreds of serial killers we have read about in the news? I just can't see the motivation to keep it out of public eye. That being said, if the government really does have a policy ,to cover up the existence of Bigfoot, then this policy has been in effect for a VERY long time. This, more than anything, makes it very doubtful. A national cover up, spanning multiple decades, to keep the public from discovering a free ranging, native, North American animal, is very hard to swallow. Not to mention, the effort and financial resources needed would be very hard to cover up for any length of time.

  2. If the latest footage from Lettuce Park isn't debunked by now this sighting is pretty relevant to this thread and the points discussed about Florida in general.

  3. Anyone can do that stuff, I do it all the time. Examine old road cuts. Check out recent land slides. Stuff gradually washes out of those. In volcanic areas with ash flows, walk the stream banks and see what is washing out. If a BF got caught in sudden thick ash fall, or a major eruption, it could have been quickly covered before the scavengers got to it. Every spring I go into the lahar on the East Side of Mt St Helens and see what is washing out of the ash that forms the lahar. The area is still active because I have found footprints. Hint: the quickest way to get out into the lahar is take the Ape Canyon trail West up the mountain then swing South out into the Lahar. Word of warning, it might be illegal to be off trail in the National Monument. I think it is a $500 fine. At least use of the ape canyon trail minimizes your time off trail. Once you get very far out away from the road you are not visible from the road or interested rangers. There has been major erosion of the embankment that the Ape Canyon trail winds up. From the lahar side, lots of interesting stuff is washing out. I even found a cave that I could have crawled back into.

  4. considering the past, i'd wager her "facts "are largely determined by what might get attention and make a fast $ from any suckers willing to contribute to her "cause". attempting to label her as a convenient screw up that helps hide the truth sounds more like wishful thinking , imo. if played right there is $ to be had from "crypto-studies "and iirc Dr. K has played this game before , but it 's not surprising that many in BFery are willing to bend over for it yet again.. .... nor does it surprise some of us that not long ago "dogman" became a buzzword here after some of dr K's associates showed up and breathed life into it and now the good Dr just so happens to present a wolf man shaman theory....amazing.

  5. I don't think her opinion, based on her experience with high strangeness, should factor into her scientific findings. If she would stick to the facts, maybe she wouldn't be faced with all of the criticism that she is. Did she not learn anything from the mistakes she made with the DNA project? I guess not.
