You are right; I'm not spilling my guts on an internet forum about what has taken me forty plus years, driving tens of thousands miles and spending a lot of money, and a hxxx of lot of days and nights in the field to learn a little bit about these critters! Why would I, or any of the rest of the guys and gals who have done the same thing all over the Southeastern U.S.? To provide some no-nothing, trigger happy yahoo their nonsensical chance to be the "first" to put one on the slab for science? These animals have been here a long, long time. One only has to see a few of them to know they are our nearest kin, and to know that they are MUCH more human than any other ape. Many who frequent the forum - most who never post - know that what I have stated is factual. Doesn't matter a whit that most of the "regular internet Bigfoot researches" don't care to believe what I have written, but Bigfoot is only an enigma to those that have not made the efforts to find and interact with them. Anyone who is naive to believe that the government with the most sophisticated surveillance equipment in the world does not know that these creatures exist on government lands and military bases, and understand that at times bodies some of the creatures had, for one reason or the other, to be removed, does not have reasoning ability enough to ask for proof of anything related to Bigfoot. Just remember what I have said in the previous posts. BF needs no more help to survive; they'll still be here when humans have wiped themselves out. Feel free to vent your spleen, I'm too old to give a hoot.4 points

One thing I find attractive about studying this problem is it requires you to be conversant in so many other related disciplines, that is, if you are approaching it seriously and correctly. I laugh at myself often because I really think I'm using the screen of BF studies to justify an inordinate amount of time reading on the topics of anthropology, social sciences, tracking and wildlife observation, genetics, meteorology, hunting, history of scientific discoveries, forestry, ecology, cellular biology, photography, statistics....I mean, the list is immense, and I'm sure I've overlooked some things too. So if you have my predilections, and I'm here because I'm convinced many here do share them, what is not to like about this topic? And don't get me wrong either. I'm not just investing this time because I like to spin my wheels on esoteric and controversial subject matters. I do it because the more you learn about it, the more it all hangs together. Where else can your average would-be polymath like me score like this? Nowhere else I know of.2 points

Been a long time since having BF contact but that changed yesterday. Was having a bit of PTSD yesterday when I got home. Let me do a preliminary report then write it up after I am able to review the digital audio tapes. 1. Happened on the back side of a named mountain in the Gifford Pinchot. Remote area I had not gotten way back in before. Got interested, did some prep work with Goggle Earth and a USGS map and figured out a way to get in. When I got there, and hiked in on a old ditched off logging road that had not been used in decades that took me towards the back side of the mountain. Initially impressed with the area. Running water, lots of recent elk and deer tracks, a very fresh bear track. The game trails look like freeways there compared with most areas. 2. When I got near the mountain, I heard some thumping, indicating something heavy moving in the trees towards the mountain. Stood there watching and listening and then got a blast of infrasound. Was not very close so I just stood there waiting for something else to happen. It started raining, did not want to get my electronic gear wet so I decided to back out and got zapped again from another that was between me and the way out. I had to move towards it because the logging road made an L. It could not have been the first one because of the short time between the first and second zap. It must have come from someplace else and got in behind me. I felt trapped and really wanted to get out. Nothing happened on the way back to the truck, but it was raining so put my pack with the running digital recorder in the truck and was standing around with both truck doors open, hoping to get more audio when all hell broke loose near my truck. Best described as an ape aggressive display tantrum. (Norseman, I don't know how intelligent they are but they are more ape than man). 3. I have never experienced this kind of aggressive behavior before without apparent reason. I was alone and they wanted me the hell off their mountain. I don't plan to ever go back alone and when I do, I am going to carry a bigger side arm. The zapping made my abdomen hurt badly all night so I could not sleep. 4. I have not been through the recording yet, but if the recorder captured what happened near the truck, I think it will be a significant audio. There is also a chance that I might have gotten something in a photograph but that is not likely. I will let you know what I have on audio. More later.1 point

As I mentioned, Sas Chron has had some excellent shows with amazing witness encounters. Many of the witnesses were very genuine and able to relate, without any kind of prejudice, what they observed. Episode 10, about a hunters encounter, is a perfect example of this. I'd like to see them remove all the negative commentary about other organizations and researchers, and focus on the encounters. It's when they wander off into the discussions of what they know to be true and what nobody else knows, that they get stuck in the mud. It's their show and they're welcome to express their opinions but need to be careful to distinguish opinion from fact, especially since many of their listeners and witnesses are new to the subject of Bigfoot.1 point

I grew up in Washoe County, Nevada. My father was a geologist so we were frequently out in the middle of nowhere. There are some weird folks out in the remote small valleys. Religious cults (imagine being approached by a robed monk on a deserted road who was following orders to leave the compound in the middle of nowhere to go out and panhandle in the middle of nowhere), Nazi groups who literally convoy around with halftracks and staff cars in SS uniforms (heart in throat as they pass you). In the Southeast, while Civil War relic hunting I ran into both pot growers and altars in the middle of nowhere, and on one occasion, an open and empty grave. There are plenty of human threats. That said, I consider this. In the wild the biggest influence on male physiology is physical competition between males for the privilege of mating, and potentially for other resources. The biggest rack of antlers makes a difference, and the biggest silverback has the ability to exert its will. So let's assume that two adult male bigfoot are in competition and it devolves into a wrestling match, or in extreme cases a life and death struggle for control. Bigfoot are obviously built to exert offensive physical strength. Their arms, legs, and torsos are obviously well developed and commensurate with their stature. But look also at the neck musculature. It is greatly enhanced. Why? I believe this to be a defensive strength adaptation to decrease the vulnerability of the head and neck in dominance struggles. This indicates that in a fight, male bigfoot may habitually target the neck as a point of vulnerability. We only see musculature approaching this in sports where damage to the head and neck occur regularly - football, wrestling, boxing, etc. Weightlifting also, but this is not due to direct conflict/competition. So I don't find it beyond the realm of possibility that a bigfoot attacking a human might attack the human in the same manner that it might attack a competing male bigfoot and attempt to settle an issue by simply breaking the neck, and possibly removing the head.1 point

I think this is the snag that "proof" runs into with Sasquatch, because they cross the line that we draw in order to establish our rights which we put above any animal. You have to understand Norse, I'd rather bigfoot were not so close to human, because this whole matter would be much easier, and probably over with long ago, but this won't make it so, and at some point we learn from history.1 point

Mr. Branco, as others have said here before, you are a treasure. How it is that you have any patience left to post here, I will never understand; but I'm so happy you do. Thanks also to southernyahoo for his seemingly inexhaustible kindness and his deep wisdom. We are lucky you are both here.1 point

The BFRO does have a couple of members here in BC However I don't think that there is a lot of people interested in reporting here I can think of numerous times that I have been with Thomas and someone sees his research vehicle and stops to tell him their story Of the top of my head none of them seemed to considered this a life altering event They all seemed to have just gone on with life, and when they saw Thomas, it seemed to be "hey you might be interested in hearing what happened to me" then they go on their way1 point

In other words you have nothing As long as that is clear I won't waste anymore of my time on questioning you1 point

Produce some evidence of this Not only for the American Federal government but the Canadian as well If you can't produce this evidence of conspiracy then you are just telling a story1 point

Kill the FIRST one you see; that'll show'em we respect their rights. Yeah, kill a booger; that will give the rest a little room and a little more food. Some documentation; a bit of personal knowledge of it, admissions of some involved, partial list of lands set aside for them; that's about it. All of which you could have discovered yourself if you had spent the time trying to learn about them as you have on this forum nattering about the grandiose plan to collect (AKA, kill) a "voucher specimen".1 point

I have seen another set of snow prints where the Sasquatch was obviously moving around in a small area, perhaps stalking or hiding, it seems as though it was pondering what to do next, so it is certainly not that unusual for prints to be found close together when they are more stationary, they are not always taking there normal stride, just like you are not always walking with a normal stride, but it does make you wonder either way.1 point
