  1. Why is there such a divide and such hostility between two groups of people who are actively interested in the same subject? That seems silly to me...

  2. Not only 50 Years of searching but recently all of the "best" and most treasured DNA evidence was shot down in flames. With every new scientific test or procedure the bigfoot evidence pool becomes smaller and smaller. 50 Years and we are going backwards.

  3. I don't have any issues with the time span that this mystery has taken. I think specimens have probably fallen in our hands before, and it's more likely that they just don't fit a category of living things that serves our every interest. I know there is substance to this subject matter based on the evidence and the science that can be applied to it. It's just not possible to dictate the results of it and force it into some category that pleases everyone.

  4. My recommendation list is Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science Enoch: A Bigfoot Story The Locals Abominable Snowmen: Legend Comes to Life Valley of the Skookum The Hoopa Project Raincoast Sasquatch (slightly redundant) I think these cover the base from F&B to "para", ape to "person", etc representing most major views and many periods. If a particular perspective piques your interest then you can delve into it more deeply. If your funds are limited, read the first 3 first. I don't believe it is possible to make meaningful contribution to a discussion about bigfoot without understanding what these say .. whether you choose to accept what they say or not. Read them. MIB

  5. Why do people who firmly believe or know they exist bother arguing with skeptics with the fervor they do? Seems silly to me

  6. Because sometimes you are just full-up with nuts. The idea of the animal, or not, doesn't get debated by many of our esteemed members with the least regard for, you know, how people actually behave in the real world. This is a great case in point. This special dispensation allows a lot of intellectual dishonesty hereabouts, and a whole lot of whining about it too, I might add. Somebody give me some science on their side of the equation and I'll guarantee I'll shut the &(^* up. Until then, sorry, it is only whack.

  7. You inhabit a very strange world Bodhi. Apparently it is full of people who show up on a website year-in, year out, to merely engage people on an incident that they made up. And one they recite with unwavering consistency. Oh, and they do that anonymously, so, you know, they get the maximum mileage from the effort. You've considered your premise is completely loopy, I'm hoping? You know people first-hand who do that kind of thing do you? Are you expending that kind of effort with anyone, anywhere? (If so, it says far more about your motivations than much else). Frankly, such a POV is absolutely crackers to rational people everywhere, and I'm just holding out hope you at least have a good handle on that behavior. Wait, don't tell me. I'm sort of afraid for you, and I also don't think I can put up with any more cra-cra just now.

  8. I find the wording of one of the objectives of NEON fascinating. "Biodiversity: The full range of life forms on earth, or in a particular region." Full range of life forms? Use of the words "life forms" is curious. One would think they would say indigenous species or something like that. The entire thing is probably totally innocent and devoid of any connection to BF. But, inadvertently they have put the station right in the middle of an active BF area. I doubt that it will be manned as the intent is to remotely operate experiments and observations. As I mentioned this is within 100s of yards of where something put the above picture of the rock and stick glyph on the stump behind me. Once BF gets used to the station and curious they will come and explore it. I can just see curious teen juveniles climbing the tower. Right now the area is not fenced. If part of the objective is to observe wildlife in the area, I do not see how they can fence the area. I would expect remotely controlled FLIR and visual spectra cameras to be installed on the tower. It they do that they might get some interesting pictures of those "life forms". I may tip off our local newspaper reporters and try to get myself invited for a tour to check it out, since it is in Clark County.

  9. There is nothing that he's shown that can be called "real" by any degree because nothing is verifiable.

  10. That's a very weak argument. Disgruntled girlfriends have been known to cause much worse trouble than that for completely innocent guys.

  11. Because BF is something that the government can't control, tax, or herd into reservations. Kinda like UFO/Aliens. If they refuse to acknowledge them, they don't have to explain their powerlessness in dealing with them.
