  1. Trying to catch up on this thread. Funny but BF hardly seems pertinent to me today when I am trying to figure out what growled in my back yard last night so long and loud that it woke me up. Whatever it was, it was not something I would like to meet in the dark. I have large growling things in my yard, there are African looking lions with cubs in Milwaukie Wisconsin, and the Russians just unearthed a skeleton with an elongated alien looking skull. Can't we at least agree that sometimes this earth is a strange place?

  2. You know what's comparing apples and oranges, Jay? Equating those who are skeptical of this particular story of Bob Garrett's (or the embellishment/manipulation thereof) with denialists/serial debunkers. A fair number of those who are questioning Mr. Garrett's tale are proponents of Bigfoot's existence and who don't doubt that attacks by bigfoot are possible, if not probable. You represent yourself poorly by not acknowledging the distinction. By not doing so, you and others appear as sycophantic cheerleaders, intolerant of those with a differing opinion, instead of the objective commentators you claim to be.Concerning these other "environments" that are more conducive to discussing Bigfoot, would you care to name a few so we can check them out? Finally, I'd like to point out that practically all of the name-calling and derogatory language in this thread has come from those who are championing Mr. Garrett's story. Also, you and a few notable others need to look up the definition of "troll" as it relates to the internet. No one who has been accused of being a troll has engaged in actual trolling behavior that I've seen. If they had, it would be dealt with by staff since the Rules & Guidelines forbid trolling. If you or others consider a post trolling, report it to a moderator and let them make a final determination.

  3. You stated no one is actually looking for bigfoot Then you said enlightened me I stated that you were wrong and gave you three examples of people that are actually looking for bigfoot. So rather then admitting that you were wrong on this you came back with If you went to Thomas' website you could hear the thoughts of a long-term well respected researcher that stays away from the crapAs far as my whipping out evidence for you, what makes you think that I would present stuff on this website as evidence of Sasquatch's existence when it hasn't convinced me While I will not and can not speak for the others as it is not my place However Thomas has always been forthcoming with his evidence, so if you are truly interested email him sasquatch@telus.net

  4. For you, those things may be sillier but many more people believe in ghosts, deities, angels, aliens than believe in sasquatch. So, sorry; one man's "known" is another man's silly. Belief in sasquatch is currently in the fringe OF the fringe. Perhaps, since this is the "where are we 50 years post the PGF" thread, we should consider WHY so long after the PGF there hasn't been definitive proof presented? Perhaps 2, since there hasn't been significant progress since PGF perhaps it isn't surprising that belief in sasquatch hovers around 20%. links for beliefs in the things you mentioned your post by the american public are listed below: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/poll-76-percent-believe-in-god-38-percent-do-what-god-asks/article/2537977 http://www.gallup.com/poll/170822/believe-creationist-view-human-origins.aspx http://www.cbsnews.com/news/poll-majority-believe-in-ghosts/ http://www.inquisitr.com/171741/77-percent-of-americans-believe-in-angels-polling/ http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/ufos-exist-americans-national-geographic-survey/story?id=16661311 http://www.gallup.com/poll/16915/Three-Four-Americans-Believe-Paranormal.aspx

  5. Tin foil hat territory is someone that believes they know something people have clearly seen does not exist.

  6. I don't think you are seeing how the legal system would deal with a hominin that would be allowed to roam free, slap peoples houses in the night, trespass, kill their dogs, and create all sorts of disturbances while being immune to laws that govern extant hominins. It's not something law enforcement want to be called about, and the calls would likely increase if BF were proven. Well you don't see the geneticists coming around here to ask for samples do you? They see a few failures and think they've all been tested. They've got their funded work to perform, and if they keep their nose clean, they'll get more funding for their work. The stakes are high and the cost is high if they fail to get published on a claim they get one shot at.

  7. Those are noble words but I would appreciate it if you would take the time to speak to the vitriol which has been documented. You took the time to take skeptics to task for our supposed tone in this discussion, why not take the time to do the same for the adherents?

  8. Why DON'T we disperse though? Probably the better suggestion at this point.

  9. Pointing out and giving examples for hypocrisy isn't misdirection. It's on topic with his complaint. An example of misdirection would be: "Sure. Care to step outside the BFF?"

  10. Then obtaining objective evidence should be a snap - which is not the case for either the Milwaukee lion nor Bigfoot... Of course tracks can lie - are you unaware of the long folk-history of faking large human-like footprints and trackways? Like I said - it is natural to trust your senses but if you think you cannot be deceived by them then you are mistaken. The solution to the Bigfoot phenomena may not be out there (in the wilds) but in here (inside our collective heads)...

  11. What you ate garbage from the dumpster? There are probably soup kitchens in your area a google search could save you from having to eat dumpster fare.

  12. Actually I don't blame you as you have had this happen to you before as you mentioned. And you have no way of knowing on the internet who is and isn't a blowhard. I'm not worried about my own ego or proving my self on a Internet forum. What I am worried about is taking the most direct route to solving this mystery, which includes others. And this is where we seem to constantly conk heads. And there is no shame in looking the beast in the eyes and opting out, whether your scared or feel it's too human...... But if you pull the trigger then your morally obligated to finish what you started, both for the beast and the bystander.
