  1. I think this thread is just another opportunity for you to tell us what folly the subject matter is. Maybe you should save us all the trouble and answer your own questions. To stay on topic... The Giants are in New York and San Francisco

  2. Well, I'm not done with this thread and I hope others here are also interested in exploring this topic a bit more... Hmmm… If I’ve been giving off “scoftical dogwhistles†then how is it that you can hear them, DWA? Anyway, I agree that Bigfoot is a scientific topic but is there “simply no other comprehensible, fathomable explanation for the pattern and volume of the evidence†than to say Bigfoot is Real? If you have your hopes pinned on Bigfoot being objectively documented as a real species (or hybrid or entity or whatever) anytime soon then it is to be expected that you would be more likely to seeing confirming patterns of evidence – its natural and we all do it. But, to be objective about it, that has simply not happened (yet) and, despite the exciting nature of the claims, it does not look likely any time soon, right? What’s more – our perceptual/cognitive systems are geared towards seeing patterns within random data. Are the patterns of Bigfoot morphology and behaviours actually real or do they just appear to be real? It’s a valid question. Experientially, there is no difference between the two without “tangible evidence†and, objectively for Yeti/Bigfoot/Yowie, that does not exist (yet). If those patterns are real then they can be documented and demonstrated as such to everyone – not just to those somehow consider themselves to be in the know and more enlightened than everyone else (oh, those poor sheep!) That, too, has not happened and does not look like happening soon, right? It's also quite natural (not pathological) to think and see things in terms of some grand conspiracy but, objectively speaking here, are such Bigfoot conspiracy theories helping or unduly influencing our understanding/experience of the phenomenon (to say nothing of the broader public's perception of the phenomenon)? So, if you’ve been almost solely focused on the conspiracies, claims, and evidence that support your particular views(s) then it is also natural that you might not be abreast with the development of possible alternate scientific explanations – I say that there are “other comprehensible, fathomable explanation for the pattern and volume of the evidenceâ€. The only problem is if you are deeply invested in your own “knowing†of what Bigfoot is that you probably won’t like it and will seek to dismiss it outright. I’m not putting it forward as THE TRUTH but I am putting it forward as a possible explanation worthy of consideration if you truly want to get to the bottom of the Bigfoot phenomenon... Bigfoot IS a scientific topic but, objectively, the science of Bigfoot-as-unidentified-species is not working despite hopes and claims to the contrary. So why not consider a different and legitimate science?

  3. If the OP posted this to antagonize proponents (troll), then the best way to find out is for proponents to not respond. If that was the OP's motive, the thread will simply die. If his motive was to disrupt, or pull everything back to existence, it will be obvious - when he is sitting here posting to himself, because no one else is. If you don't like the skeptic threads and feel they are simply trolling,,,, don't participate. I can almost guarantee that these types of posts will stop if the skeptics don't get the reaction they were fishing for.

  4. I heard somewhere that if I read enough I'll earn my junior scientist badge!

  5. Not a moderator but pretty sure I know the answer. The answer would be no, YOU don't have to. That's the beauty of these forums, you only have to enter topics you want to, freewill.

  6. Yet another "Exists/Does Not" exercise? Moderators, must we?

  7. Perhaps the scientist do not believe the anecdotal evidence that is in front them amounts to proof? Believing it does not amount to proof does not necessarily mean they have not considered the evidence. Just because it's enough for you does not mean it's enough for them.

  8. DWA, could you possibly try to go maybe a day (ok, that is probably too much), or at least a half dozen posts, ok, one, one post that does not include an off topic, obsessive condemnation of scientists? Thanks

  9. Nightwalker, you must understand that everything you have espoused is nothing more than your own theory, your own subjective reasoning, your own beliefs, your own conceit. It holds no more validity than you assign to the statements of bigfoot proponents.

  10. Well as many of you know I claim to be a believer in Bigfoot, I claim to have heard them, and I claim to have experienced activity, well all that being said what if I was 100% honest. Fact of the matter is I would have to say I seriously have my doubts as to the creatures existence anywhere much less in my surroundings here. That is an honest statement from an honest believer in this creature. I wish I could say I have had that definitive moment, I have had moments that fostered the belief no doubt, but like many of you I am just a believer, not a knower. I have not seen it with my own eyes, nor have I touched it to know what I was seeing was actually real. Ok, well then why just not give up the whole shooting match and lay the idea to rest. Well if it were that easy I sure would have liked to do it sooner, yet I have nothing at stake in this, only more to loose by holding onto the belief, more time, energy, my reputation, my sanity perhaps. If you are honest you might share this feeling and thought process. The power of belief is stronger than we humans can imagine, it can make a strong man cower and a weak man tower. I submit that such a belief, experiences or not, can cloud the mind, or make it see things that it wants to see. So is that all this is? No, if it were just that I would be free simply by relying on the rational mind and the facts. The rational mind is what is not letting this go, because you can see here I have reason to desire to let it go, it is the fact that what I heard in 2013 cannot be explained, what my wife heard also, what recordings seemed to confirm was activity, it all is compelling my rational mind to find another explanation, so far I cannot. That is the issue. To the skeptics I say enjoy your world free of such experiences that would force you into this quandary, but be clear that many of us are here not by our own choice, but by circumstances that most of us wish never happened. The compulsion that accompanies those experiences is what leads people here looking for answers. Of course many of us have not compulsion other than we think this is entertainment. I wish I were here simply for entertainment, simply to blow off some steam or to enjoy a good joke. I am here simply out of a compulsion to find answers to something I thought could not exist, and honestly in many ways wish it did not.

  11. IMO, he wants to be the Big Dog (as opposed to the camp flunkie) however, the behaviors I observed exhibited a total reticence to get out in the brush and actually be what he postures to the public. What took the cake was the second trip down to MC (at Lansdale's invitation to search for the body) he later admitted to having his own son covertly trail me while going through the search operations. In all three instances, I heard him, stopped and took up a position and waited to see what it was that was trailing me. What if I had been like one of the other guys (woodswatcher) who (IMO) is also scared of the woods, had been there and decided to shoot first (i.e. NAWAC) and ask questions later? Could have been a major tragedy so (IMO) for someone to send their own flesh & blood to do what they are afraid to do is, by definition, gross cowardice.

  12. LOL. Try researching my past posts on here and watch what happens. That's right, you can't go back very far can you? JDL was probably unaware of that as I was until I was tasked to do so. Learn something new everyday. Yeah, BF is such a silly subject in the minds of the public that shows like Finding Bigfoot get cancelled after one season. And you may counter, in a broad statement, by saying that the general public is simply amused by the silliness of it. But in reality, what you're doing is, you're trying to paint a detailed picture with a paint roller. Trust me, I don't mind the skeptical pov, but, if you like the "scientific high ground", of no proof, and want to drone on and on about it in every thread you participate in, then that is going to limit where your posts are welcome. That new bigfoot program with the fake capture of bigfoot featuring bigfoot scientist meldrum not silly at all. Im sure like you the public takes such serious shows as finding bigfoot, ancient aliens, or ghost hunters super seriously.

  13. IMO, he's afraid of them and by virtue of such fear will not engage them in any sort of FTF actions, content to be a mouthpiece and let others do his dirty work. It did not take long to figure out this person is a lot of wind blowing with absolutely no trees bending.

  14. IMO, Lansdale is firmly "no-kill". The 2X we went to "Monster Central", he never got more than ~30' from the campfire or his truck. He "ain't" gonna kill anything with that M.O.. IMO... A Total Poser.

  15. While I have not been to Bhutan (though I would love to go), I have been to Nepal. I spent two or three weeks in the country, and most of it was in the Himalayas at a small village called Pangom in the Arun Valley. I knew the area was remote, but there's nothing like being there to really drive that home. There were no roads whatsoever. We had to be helicoptered in to the site and picked up at the end of our stay. Our gear was transported by these strange yak/cow hybrids escorted by Sherpas who walked for days to get anywhere. When tensions with a neighboring village arose and police were needed (Bobo was accused of angering the gods and causing a torrential downpour and the resulting landslides), they had to walk from a nearby village downslope and it took them over 12 hours to arrive. Not only is this area huge, but the terrain is extremely rugged. The mountain slopes are ridiculously steep and covered with leech-ridden semi-tropical vines with pokey thorns and worse. The people who live there mostly lack electricity. They live a subsistence living by catering to tourists "trekking" through the mountains and by growing potatoes, cabbage, and other crops. Most of the folks who helped us were illiterate. Ranae spent a week before filming in Bhutan and she reported that the situation there was more or less the same in economics and geography. I feel that my assumptions about Nepal would largely be accurate to describe Bhutan as well. To me, it's a wonder we hear of ANY yeti sightings. The people of the Himalayas are far more preoccupied with surviving than reporting sightings to outsiders of animals they know live there. Most of the mountain folk know people don't think yetis are real, so why should they care what scientists think unless they can make a living guiding for them, or being porters? They go to bed at dark and wake up at sunrise. They aren't out in the woods at night. They are wonderfully simple, happy, and compassionate people living a small life in a huge mountain range. Who would they report a sighting of a perfectly normal animal to, anyway? Even better, HOW would they report it (it's a two-week walk to Kathmandu)? I imagine such an action seems like quite the hassle to a Sherpa trying to put food on his family's table. Just because Westerners don't hear about yeti sightings much doesn't mean they don't happen. I have to question whether or not yeti sightings are in fact in decline, or have remained more or less quietly steady over the years. Just because a news article says so, it doesn't make it true. Just my two cents from having actually been to the region. If you're interested in reading my field notes from Nepal, they are posted on my website here: http://cliffbarackman.com/finding-bigfoot/finding-bigfoot-episode-guide/finding-bigfoot-season-four/finding-bigfoot-season-four-abominable-snowman/ Cliff
