  1. Almost amazing considering Dr. Hart not only took the time and effort to fairly and honestly consider Dr. Ketchum's work but also offered to help her repeatedly despite the reception he received. I don't think most people realize how difficult it must have been to write up his work in a manner that is understandable by forum members with minimal exposure to DNA testing and yet still remained suitable for peer review. The fact that he paid out of pocket to ensure open access for members here is incredible when compared to the secrecy most researchers place on their efforts. I think it illustrates how honest and open research could benefit the whole field. It should be pointed to each and every time anyone posts nonsense about selfish and disinterested scientists failing to address the evidence available.

  3. Well MIB, every single life form on this planet that has ever been photographed/filmed once has been photographed/filmed again. All we have other than this one good clip is blurry, hoaxed or misidentified stumps, animals or shadows. That's not very scientific either. That being said, I know you think you've had an encounter so you know better than I. In any case, all the arguments have been made as to whether Patty is real or not. We're all just waiting for the next capture on film that can't be disputed. t.

  4. Hello All, I used the words explosive and greed in the same post. Shouldn't be hard to fill in the blanks. If Sasquatch is discovered to be officially real by science then the natural resource industries' money flow will be bottle-necked. So many discussions on this Forum mention not telling anyone if a body is found as it will be confiscated, disappear, and never made public. Most will disagree with me on the next point: Dr. Melba Ketchum tested and got the real thing but backed off for reasons yet to be known. I think she knew the negative economic, political, and industrial impact of such a find and so stopped short. No one was going top peer review her work in any scientific journals for the same reasons. There isn't any doubt in my mind that this is true. Proof would be economically explosive. Period. And would send ripples through the wood and fuel extraction industries along with all the other activities both recreational and otherwise. It really is all about the money so If Sasquatch exists- which I think it does- then I simply do not trust the industries that are working in the same areas where the creatures are. I think that the creatures therefore are at tremendous risk if anyone thought there was potential knowledge of the animal's existence. This is my stance on the matter and it's why I push for a body for science. Not to halt industry because thousands of families depend on them for their livelihoods. It's to keep the local populations that inhabit the same areas the resource industries are operating in from eradication by those very industries in order to protect their profits. Yep, I sound like a crackpot. I don't care. I don't for a minute trust those outfits to not touch a hair on that creature's head. Truth be known I think the opposite has been happening and Sasquatch is real trouble. Rant over....off soapbox....apologies for being off topic.

  5. That is the problem with this so called science, no one is really interested in science. Well that is if you do not include the science of narcissism, which undoubtedly has been perfected within and without bigfootery. I am recording as I speak outside my hotel, Corbin KY, because it backs right up to a nicely forested area fairly near the Daniel Boone Nation Forest. Well if I think it is only interesting to document a possible sasquatch I might as well save my batteries. In the end we are seeking to understand an eco system and the creatures, plural, that live in it. That is what constitutes what a field biologist studies, and to begin to understand, and I mean in a tangible fashion, we need to take that type of approach being fully interested in all the facets of nature. For example, having a Todd Standing bashing John Bindernagel for not identifying supposed Sasquatch sounds (which Bindernagel obviously knew were not) while in the field with Todd's expert self, that is the epitome of narcissism. Exactly the opposite of what Bindernagel stands for, reasoned conclusion based on prolonged observation. To truly begin to understand these creatures we must undertake to understand all that allows them to exist, and that is the problem, that takes inordinate amounts of time and observation. Not many souls will undertake this task, it is years of going out and seeing nothing, ask Dahinden. When I was a storm chaser I spent 1000s of hour and 10s of 1000s of miles pursuing severe storms with only the hope of seeing a Tornado, which I never really saw a substantial Tornado, only the results shortly after. Would I do it all over again, absolutely because I loved severe weather in all facets. That is what this will take, people that love research for research sake. It is not an undertaking for the impulsive or impatient to think to undertake.

  7. I suspect an easy answer ... lying low 'til a new wave of noobs comes along who fail to do their homework regarding who they associate with so he has someone new to "snow." Eh, we'll see. Like you, I sure don't count on him being truly gone. MIB

  8. Yeah, except just a month or so after the 2014 Sasquatch Summit, Meldrum went on Coast-to-Coast and hyped Standing. Meldrum even called Standing his colleague. Not to mention the radio show Meldrum did with Standing most of the summer of 2014. IF Meldrum has distanced himself from Standing, he should publicly say so.
