  1. Listen up... There is no "problem". This board is here to facilitate conversation, argument and disagreement between members. It's ok, we want debate. What we do not want is: 1) Personal Attacks. Attack the argument, not the member. 2) Thread Highjacks. Stay on topic. Do not go off on tangents. 3) Be reasonably civil toward each other. Also, grow a thick skin, you're bound to be offended at some point. Get over it. 4) Behave like adults. The game of baiting each other in order to report your opponent to the mods is over. This is the reason why nobody wants to be a mod. It must stop. It's not much to ask. It's no secret we are having a moderator shortage at the moment. I am not a moderator, nor want to be one. I have no moderator powers in the BFF. However, I do have Firewall/Sysadmin powers which are very crude, blunt instruments, like shooting a fly with a .45. I've never used them on a member and hope I never have to. But I will if I have to... keep that in mind. When the Gig pulls the trigger, your BFF membership is over, permanently. We are going to have a bit of an honor system until the mods regroup, in the mean time, please: Behave!

  2. I'm not taking sides between hiflier and anyone else and, honestly, I almost never read any of DWA's posts (sorry guy). I couldn't even tell you what argument he is losing because I don't read most of the threads anymore. I simply object to hiflier's behavior when he starts lording it over other members. Recall his comments about weeding certain people/perspectives out of the forum. I know for a fact that some of the longstanding members refrain from posting simply because they don't care to interact with him. I, myself, would rather dialogue with an objective skeptic than a self-important proponent who runs from thread to thread like a Bantam rooster in a barnyard trying to control and direct something larger than himself. To paint the contrast, fewer people post now than before hiflier jumped in. So far as I can tell, DWA hasn't tried to weed out the forum or discourage anyone else from posting. I'd just like to see hiflier play nicer with others.

  3. They are just stories if can't be examined and analyzed. No insult intended. I would agree with you if you were right. Of course you are not. It is just your opinion that you are . Just like the same way you are convinced that the mythical creature exists because Bindernagel said so.

  4. Peter Byrne got $5,000,000 for Bigfootin in 1993 from the Academy of Applied Science. http://www.bigfootencounters.com/interviews/franzoni.htm Richard Greenwell in 1999 completed a well documented expedition into the Six Rivers National Forest. http://sbwm.erols.com/bdwilner/.../cryptozoo/sixrivers.html Regardless of newbie claims, serious money and expertise has been invested in the search for bigfoot.

  5. Nobody's opinion should be censored. It's our own choice whether or not to read/listen. That's the best measure of whether or not someone's opinion matters. I skip over ninety percent of his posts, along with those that seem to be solely directed at him. The arguments surrounding him don't interest me. Seems to me, though, that he stimulates more discussion instead of suppressing it. From the outside I see one guy backed into a corner and surrounded (and maybe he deserves it, can't say), and another guy trying to control who comes through the door (that's what bugs me). Dunno, maybe I'm part of the problem too.

  6. That's all you got? And I used to be pro-life . . . You weren't there. You were nowhere in the vicinity. You saw nothing of the subject - therefore you're totally ignorant of the subject. What kind of narrow-minded, pompous jack*** would make such a determination about something they have no knowledge of? As you're someone with a total ignorance on the subject - do you remember the last time I wanted your opinion? Me neither. You guys are always wrong. Seems like every Nobel Prize Winner was ridiculed previously by those like-minded souls of the unknowing. Seems like every major advancement and technological discovery was ridiculed and dismiss out of hand by the unknowing. You see, the dummies who are the unknowing, just don't know what they don't know. I remember Otto Ovshinsky - who proposed amorphous semiconductors - and the entire world of physics, chemistry and electronics - poured on the ridicule - as they had firm calculations and all the scientific world that said - "impossible." Well, you can go sit with those guys. Ovshinsky was doubly ridiculed as he didn't have a degree - wasn't a physicist - wasn't a chemist - he was just the one who proved everyone wrong when his amorphous semiconductors started showing up in everyday appliances. Unknowing is not exactly a strong position to hold on any matter - unless one is pretentiously clinging to their lack of knowledge.

  7. Thats because DWA doesn't care what advances the forum. And he certainly isn't worried about poor taste....like dredging up ancient threads to evidently bury newer ones. Your beating up the wrong guy.

  8. Most people I know who operate in a personal "need to prove it" mode are people who have had a sighting or heard vocalizations, told people they trusted and instead of support got ridiculed / lost face, and feel they have something they need to recover which can only be done by proving they were right all along. In other words, it's about restoring perceived lost reputation. Hate to say it, but it really is important to be selective in who you share with and, best of all, until you've had some time to sit back and watch, NOT share what you've seen at all. MIB

  11. Me and my wife were checking out some plants in back after dark with our cell phone flashlight, we moved something out its spot, it was heavy, heavy thumps as it left. Could have been a very large buck, be we have never heard something with those heavy footfalls in our 15 years of living here. Still no wood knocking. all the more reason to start recording, but it takes time and energy and I am short on both currently.
