Leaderboard

I've had two wood knocks, footprints, and two visual red-eyeshine incidents all within a mile of this one area I go. The one eyeshine incident was one where it moved all over the place to try and avoid my flashlight. If I had a thermal at the time, it would have been a good enough visual for me. But I didn't. I will continue in that area and am currently deciding which thermal unit to buy. It is an area you must backpack into, with limited access in three directions, so human intervention is minimal. I want a visual. Nothing else will suffice.

ioyza linked to Chris Noel's video, "The Sasquatch Savant Theory II: Why All These Stick and Tree Structures?", in the other recent tree manipulation thread. I had not encountered this theory before and find it intriguing. Is it the "right" explanation? Damned if I know, but as general explanations go I find it better than anything I've yet to come up with on my own.

Oh of course. I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a reason for any person NOT to spend their time going to the woods making things like that. I guess that's why we see these things all over the country in the same basic archetypes and patterns, because everyone's bored of their iPhones and fidget spinners and everyone's into building tree structures. Kids these days.
