Sounds like you are talking to them like I do. Like you, I have no idea if they understand but at least when we try, it likely makes them feel more comfortable around us and likely makes them feel we consider them as equals, or worthy of trying to communicate. I wonder if trying to feed them like you wold a squirrel is insulting to them. Relative to communication some scientist wondered how much his dog understood. He did some testing and found out that his dog understood over 1000 words. Maybe like a dog we are dealing with something fully capable of understanding most of what we say but simply cannot respond in a way we understand.

MO, your interpretation of that whispered phrase is REALLY interesting! Another trend I have a whiff of is that they seem to be more willing to interact / show themselves / mindspeak etc. with Native Americans. Almost like there's a baseline level of respect and familiarity that they feel they can bypass a lot of the non-interactive observational phase - thoughts? hiflier, on the point of Patty not zapping Roger and Bob, this is probably because they seem to have managed to catch her off guard with no cover, at which point she follows the classic calm evasion plan that's commonly reported in these scenarios (and filmed again in the Independence Day footage in nearly the exact same way). It seems whatever 'zapping' really entails, it wouldn't accomplish much to simply stand there in the open and "strongly suggest" that the human flee - at that point the sasquatch needs to flee instead. Sure, there have already been proof of concept things where you can take simple actions in a video game merely by thinking about the action a few times, getting a calibrated reading from an EEG (likely with the help of some pretty hardcore software), and repeating the same process with other actions. In the first case, they were creeping around our campsite and having some fun with us, and as we were getting ready to turn in I said "Hey guys, we know you're there, why don't you just throw a pine cone into camp so we know for sure?" Something hard hit a tree just behind us maybe 25 feet up. More recently, I simply asked them to visit us at night at the cabin we were staying at. That led to the eye glow encounter I've mentioned - They showed up on our last night there, and I got to sit with them and watch their eye glow for quite a while. Even if I suppose that those were responses to my requests, which of course they weren't necessarily, they could still just be responding to my voice. I'm going back to that first campsite in a couple weeks, if they're around I'll see if I can come up with something a little more conclusive to try.

The JREFers are a cult of science geeks who cannot think in anything but absolutes. And they toe the cult line. Dissention in the ranks brings on ridicule of being illogical or irrational. As they debate each other they critique each others spelling and sentence structure. As if a online forum post was the final for a English major...... I think they all have a Spock altar in their garage. They are timid souls who do not dare stray from the herd. The whole rotten edifice is built on a lie. Mr. Randi’s life partner lived in the US for decades under a stolen identity. While Mr. Randi busted spoon tricks and mind readers and built a name for himself as a champion of TRUTH. I would never associate myself with James Randi or his forum. All a man has to go on in life are his own observations. And there is plenty of knowledge left undiscovered. I adhere to no way of thinking outside of what I have thought heavily on for myself. And what makes sense to me. Be an independent thinker. Be self reliant. Be strong and stand up for what you believe. Wouldnt last a week on a online forum? I would walk into a room face to face with 20 of them and lock the door behind me. I DO NOT hide my identity or where I live. I do not potshot people online from behind a mask. I speak the truth from my own perspective. Friends and family know that I participate on a BIGFOOT forum. Most JREFers would be horrorified if anyone found out their true identity. Even as scofftics on this forum. I am NOT a knower, but I leave the question open in my mind. And its no skin off my nose to be in the mountains keeping my eyes peeled for sign. As a Hunter that is my passion regardless...... And I’m attacked from all angles....beleivers and scoffers alike. You may as well ask why the planet has spawned and extinguished the myriad hominids and hominoid species it has over the eons. "Because it can" would be the only suitable statement you can really make about any such natural occurrence. I've always loved this quote attributed usually to the naturalist J.B.S. Haldane (possibly an apocryphal quote, but still accurate) after being asked what he had deduced about [Mother Nature] after a lifetime of studying insects: "[She] has an inordinate fondness for beetles", he said. This is just another way of saying, "Because a beetle fits more biologic niches than any other taxonomically similar organisms, it exists in greater numbers" I have always viewed the non-existence of Sasquatch as much, much more improbable than existence....and you could toss all the sighting reports/ photos/films/tracks and be on sound scientific ground with that conclusion. Wherever you look on this planet, if you are able to define a niche that life CAN exploit, it WILL be there. The niche for Sasquatch has been pretty well defined at this point. The confirmation part is just mopping-up to satisfy those who aren't paying that close attention.
