  1. I went to their web site and read up, then signed up for their email newsletter. That was last summer .. or before? So far no black suburbans with gov't plates. What they claim to be doing seems kind of interesting .. to me. YMMV. I was a biology geek back in high school .. approaching 40 years have passed and I'm still not cured. Such as? And why? Says who? Honestly, if there's somewhere I'm "not supposed to go", that's heading to the top of the list of places I want to go. MIB

  2. As they ran down the trail he stopped to pull his firearm from his pack, at that moment he spotted one of the creatures. I have known Derek a number of years and can say he is a very good man with not a hint of embellishment in his words.

  3. I'm not sure how much would be left over after first starting "Incorrigible1's Home for Wayward Cheerleaders," but would designate a large share, after that, toward the search for the big guy.

  4. Only known animal communication I ever had documented is a bet with a friend on the Appalachian Trail South of Cosby Knob, Tn., abt. 1982 I bet him how much you wanna bet I can call in that raven on the farthest ridge across a valley that bird and ridge was visible to the two of us; his response, no way. Fast forward to five to ten raven calls later we watched an abrupt change like airtraffic control had said, " scoot here, fast". Next five minutes, that raven was cocking his head over the two of us on the far ridge away from it, no words shared other than friends, wow!

  5. Glad to hear I am not the only one that talks to them. I get a kick out of their personalities and talk to them if they are watching me. I mentioned in another thread that several were herding a flock of starlings out of the area. It looked like a movie showing aerial combat during World War II.

  6. I was just outside shoveling snow. There was a raven up in the cottonwood talking to me. I made sure to tell him that you guys are talking about him.

  7. Saw Derek narrating a recreation of his encounter just the other night..getting freaked out by two rocks landing virtually next to each other in his campsite, with no thrower in sight. He continues to impress me on this topic.

  8. That is standard raven behavior. Sometimes, when I’m standing or sitting quietly and motionless in the woods, and as a raven approached in flight, when they finally notice me, they take a sudden, evasive type maneuver before hightailing out silently or with a few croaks. They were clearly surprised by my presence. Other times they may circle or land in a tree and watch and vocalize. I would like like to understand their “language” better.......like the meanings of croaks.

  9. Probably. I have certainly left them lots of gutpiles. Koyukon elders believe that ravens will lead them to moose so they can get the leftover feast, so instead of them following me, I should follow them.........but I can’t keep up. I’d love to build a hunting relationship with a raven. They can even talk. Imagine one telling you, “Hey, there’s a fat bull about a half mile southwest of here.........” My wife’s cousin is a bird guy. He’s had pet crows in the past. He’d help me train a raven.

  10. In between traveling around the world, building my farmstead, and starting a Center for Sustainability, I'd fund this BB forever, log all the serious researchers and privately fund you all forever, plus a whole lot of folks on some other sites, like the mid-america group and some of Christopher Noel's people. Then I'd jet around "supervising" you all and crash your clam bakes and camping-researching expeditions. My farm, or course, would be right in the very squatchyest part of Oregon and would have all the latest technologies . Fun!

  11. BobbyO, You're welcome. It is interestin', from Wikipedia : The eastern gorilla is more darkly coloured than the western gorilla, with the mountain gorilla being the darkest of all. The mountain gorilla also has the thickest hair. The western lowland gorilla can be brown or grayish with a reddish forehead. In addition, gorillas that live in lowland forests are more slender and agile than the more bulky mountain gorillas. The eastern gorilla also has a longer face and broader chest than the western gorilla. Although I believe there has only been one white gorilla that I know of, a western lowland gorilla Snowflake. It has been suggested his albinism was due to inbreedin'. Pat...

  12. Dr Meldrum mentioned in that Dr J podcast that only a small sequence was tested. It is the sequence where the neanderthal/Homo sapiens differences are located. Then he mentioned that there may be differences elsewhere that have yet to be found in the DNA sample.

  13. Re-read my post. I never said it was a street view. Perhaps we are looking at the picture you posted in different ways. I'm trying to fathom how something can look like a figure when it is photographed from above looking straight down. How in the world does that kind of picture look like anything when it would be a picture of it's body looking down from 36,000 kms.

  14. We just doubled the odds, Norse! That would be my plan almost exactly. We would explore the southern Alexander Archipeligo in a nice, big yacht year round, and Bigfoot Forum hunters would fly in on chartered float planes as their time allowed for cheap blacktail deer, black bear, and sasquatch mixed bag hunts. Salmon, halibut, and rockfish fishing and butter clam beach parties would round out the events. Everybody who boards would would be required to sign non-disclosure agreements and agree to gift the one and only bagged sasquatch to Dr. Meldrum. I would arrange the carcass smuggling.

  15. I would buy a small Navy, and a central base of operations, and a couple of float planes, kidnap Huntster as a guide, and start patrolling the inland fjords and water ways of SE Alaska. 100 million should cover it! When not chasing the elusive beast there would be copius amounts of fresh seafood beach parties served with cold beer and warm butter. And lots of hunting and fishing to boot.....

  16. Many years ago, a researcher, a 'professor' I think, parachuted into remote , inaccessible terrain of Oregon to 'make contact'. He jumped from the plane and was never heard from again. Consider that there are places in the forest that a human should not go into.
