You seem want to equate BF behavior with behavior of other animals. Why would an adult BF, probably the most reclusive animal in the wild, approach an armed human totally unaware of it's presence, who has already passed it's position, and hit the human with a rock so small that it would not harm me if it hit me in the head? A cougar not interested in attacking would simply let me pass and walk away while it watched. If cougar and BF have similar behavior, the BF would simply let me pass and walk away. Their behavior is either similar or different. It is obvious to me a rock thrower is different no matter if it is adult of juvenile. Of course I have no idea which other than the sound of the footsteps were way different, sounding more like a child running, than adult footsteps I heard years before that, and years later.2 points

Well except that those genetic markers that identify bears as bears and primates as primates hadn't evolved yet back then (prior to the split I mean, once they split those traits developed, those common ancient traits aren't looked at as identification of a species... you do share genes with bacteria just so you know... smh) .... please stop...2 points

If this was true then we would find more tracks with deformed feet. So this can only lead to some conclusions and that is that these tracks are either fake or they take extra care of their feet and that means watching where they walk. The other thing that it could mean is that most prints are so padded that they leave the in print in the ground due to their weight no matter what surface they are on except for cement or any other harden surface. On some of the tracks that I have found I just cannot see how they could of been faked since the toes are so well dug in just like what a human foot would do with out shoes. I can see how a fake padded foot might look on a forest floor and it just would not be the same as a human foot with no shoes. There just would not be no push of on the toes or that grip of the toes on the forest floor. You would not see that deepness or conformity that a regular foot gives. Now I am not no expert and I am only going off on what I have found out in the field. The few tracks I have found I have always thought that they were amazing. These tracks might not be amazing to others but they were amazing to me and I was happy that I found them where I found them.1 point

Those statements deserve a huge thread of its own, particularly the personalized affect of the encounter on Patty herself, and extended thought on the behavioral changes a family or clan of sasquatches go through afyer the rude invasion by humans. Before 1958, the sasquatch clan that Patty was a member of had virtually no exposure to humanity at all unless they ventured out of the upper Bluff Creek area to the main drainages of the Klamath, Smith, and Salmon Rivers, and we can assume that they did on occasion and perhaps even regularly. When the forestry roads were built unto the upper reaches of all the tributaries of the above rivers and logging began in a huge way in 1958, their bedrooms were invaded. These are the deep, dark, forested areas that these creatures prefer for their most solitary and intimate activities, especially courting, mating, birthing, retreat, etc. It appears that they somewhat tolerated the pressure during the decade before the PG event (which was rather intense), but eventually they either moved on to more remote areas, died off, got better at hiding, or all of the above (which is the most likely explanation), because sasquatch activity in the area subsided after the PG event by the mid-1970's. While there are still reports in the area even today, they are mostly footprint finds, vocalizations, and non-visual night time campsite prowlings.1 point

Norse, if you were a Bigfoot, you'd be the Bossburg cripple-foot. Most other bigfeet watch their step...1 point

I've seen that area and it is desolated with stumps in places. Lots of timber company owned land out that way. I was not implying the nests aren't the real deal in any sort of way. I still need to take a good tracking course. I think it beats the heck out of the skookum cast1 point

I look at this rather simplistically. If it was and alien abduction, then the alien looked similar to a bear and it abducted him not to a ship, but rather, into the woods. If it was a bear, it would have had to come out of hibernation and out of it's den so it would be visible in the day light and not in a dark den and it would also have to have a similar build and mannerism of an upright cartoon bear for the boy to recognize that it was a bear and act contrary to it's nature. If it was a person who abducted him, the person would have had to be wearing something similar to a bear and how did the boy escape? If it was a Sasquatch, then it would have to look similar enough to the cartoon bear and have similar mannerisms and be willing to take care of him or even lure or take him away in the first place. OR It was a miracle and the bear is the manifestation of something that the child could identify with or it could be just a figment of his imagination. Because it makes no sense that the child survived, with the information we have, I choose to believe the last two are the most likely, however, with more information, my opinion may change.1 point

You have to assign an extreme level of low intelligence to BF if you believe you can go into a specific area repeatedly and hunt it down. Deer seem to evaporate from an area when a hunting party is present. Put BF at near human intelligence (I think that is a good assumption) and BF would soon figure at that a specific group of humans is hunting them. They likely simply become more careful about moving around or leave the area and move to an area where things are safer. Contacts would drop off to nothing over a relatively short period of time. Based in my experience hunting with a camera, BF have different phases with a specific human. The discovery phase where they try to figure out what you are up to and how much of a threat you are. The next phase may include some interaction if juveniles are involved and curious. Then I would say you get into a barely tolerant phase where they get tired of you being around and interrupting their normal daily activities. Then finally I pushed them too hard and they got angry and intolerant. That for me was probably the most dangerous phase. Then due to logging and probably me pestering, they left. Hunters with guns would have some of these interaction phases skipped and find themselves wondering where the BF went. A hunting group probably has a limited period of time to find and make their kill in a given area with a given group of BF. Once BF figures out you are hunting them, it probably becomes nearly impossible to get close enough to make a kill.1 point

You're correct. If it's not boat or snowmobile on rivers, it's airplane........or all of the above, depending on conditions. And air taxis, despite there being more of them now, have gotten way too expensive. Another factor is that the feds own most of the land, and they aren't giving any of it up anymore. Ditto with Native lands, totaling up to an area larger tha Missouri. By law, they can't sell it.1 point

I'm in agreement, it's not that anyone wants anything, we're a Bigfoot website so we discuss things possibly related to BF. Yes, I've been keeping an eye on the aun't FB page. My problem is, it's hard to see this kid surviving for three days all by himself, although it is possible. I've already said, kids are tougher than we give them credit for. That there was more than an imaginary bear with him seems more plausible. I've already explained how I could see it happening if there was a real bear and don't feel like going over all that again, it's here in the thread though. To address the potential Squatchery of this, if this kid was a big fan of a cartoon bear that walked on two legs, it would make it more likely he would see a Bigfoot as a bear walking on two legs rather than a monster, as some have shown children describe a BF.1 point

Different times. The buildings in my area were burned prior to 1980. At that time, USFS was building roads like crazy to access previously inaccessible timber, to do so ahead of wilderness designation which would have blocked the road building, and, because of the presence of roads, block designation as wilderness. It's a different USFS today. Different political climate, different goals. As you say, today, no budget for road maintenance. This is mostly because of curtailment of timber harvest on national forest lands. The roads were paid for with haul-tax money. No logging, no hauling to tax, so no money to maintain roads nor to build more. This is truly a problem in some areas that are fire-prone because those old logging roads provide the fire fighting access. Many of the roads have become so degraded that they can't be restored enough to bring in firefighting equipment quickly enough to suppress fire before it is truly huge. We saw a good bit of this last summer with the Klondike Fire. In some places, roads from the previous year's Chetco Bar Fire were still only partially rehabbed / destroyed and could be reactivated quckly, other places, roads had been neglected for decades and for all practical purposes had to be rebuilt from scratch in a hurry. Hello I’m very happy to have joined the fourms and learn more on Bigfoot. When I was a teen in 1970s, I was walking home from a party. When some thing quickly walked down a hill (which was a big hay field) at 2:30 am, it was large and moved very quickly, and it followed me from behind a tree line, it stopped when I stopped and walked when I walked. This went on for around 20 minutes. I just ran home the rest of the way (about 2 more miles) and never looked back. I wanted to stop at homes along the way and ask for help, but was afraid no one should answer a door @ 2:30 am. I will never forget how afraid I was. And how good it felt to finaly make it home. I believe this was an encounter and I dont want another one. This happened in the Bozrah CT area. In 1977.1 point
