  1. I have been researching this and have come to agree with JKH. I do own a flir and have little experience using it. I only know that it works well when it is cold and does pick up heat signature great. But I have never used it on hot or warm weather to understand how it effect the flir. There are settings that you can set on the flir but have yet to try them in different conditions. But I do thank JKH for correcting me . Now I have a project to figure out this spring and summer . I will now learn on how to better use my FLIR unit. So Thanks JKH.

  2. http://mysterious-america.com/keatinginterview.html Well, I don't know anything about Keating, or the extent of his alleged lying, but in the summer of 1976 (when Keating would be @ 14 years old) on my first drive from California to Alaska, I bought my own copies of Green's "On the Track of Sasquatch" (1968) and "Year of the Sasquatch" (1970) in Williams Lake, BC. I'm not at home, so cannot refer to them, but one of them recorded well over 100 reports (168 comes to mind) in Ohio. So Green clearly recorded Ohio as a hotspot as early as 1968, when Keating was a mere 6 years old or so.

  3. I just showed up here to say that I do not trust any of the reports in John Green's database that came from Don Keating. He started and organized the Ohio Bigfoot Conference (retired in 2012). He is a proven liar. Lied about his personal encounter on two radio stations back in June and September 2008. One of those podcasts was Kathy Strain's: https://www.podbean.com/media/share/dir-xq9xc-1900fa1 Listen to the 07:00-08:20 minute segment http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sasquatchwatchradio/2008/09/16/sasquatch-watch-radio-guest-is-don-keating-of-ohio Listen to the 40:20-41:35 minute segment https://thebigfooteryenquirer.wordpress.com/tag/don-keating/ Out of 206 Ohio reports he submitted nearly half. His successor, Marc DeWerth, who is now the Ohio Bigfoot Conference organizer, submitted some with him back in 1987 (4?), and Matt Moneymaker, who was in Ohio in the 1980's pursuing a law degree has 5 reports in the database himself.

  4. I have no looked at the data dictionary or data model for the research database, but it seems to me that we could look for consistency in any number of dimensions. Here is a quick take on some factors. Which are the key ones in an analysis of consistency? Gets complicated does it not? I imagine the folks working with the data have given this more thought than I have. Dimensions of consistency Observer characteristics Role Researcher, Camper, Driver, Hiker, Outdoors worker, Sportsman Situational characteristics Sightings – clarity of sight lines Ambiguity of sighting Sightings – climate Climate: dry, wet, cold, hot Sightings – duration Duration of sighting Sightings – ecology Ecological zone Sightings – frequency Frequency of sightings in area, repeat sightings of assumed same individuals Sightings – geography Terrain, Soil, Proximity to watercourses, Local climate, Sightings – location Road crossing Sightings – number Groups, singletons Sightings – vegetation Density of bush, vegetation mix Sightings – visibility Visual clarity Available light Ground cover Tree cover Sightings – visual evidence Track impression variation Sightings – weather Humidity Current weather Weather Temperature Precipitation Sightings – time Time of year, day Sightings – location Geographic location, elevation, latitude, longitude, proximity to towns and cities, watercourses, terrain, relief Visual evidence traces Foot prints Hand prints Trackways Dermal impressions Physical characteristics Mobility Stride length Gait characteristics Shin rise Physical appearance Face appearance, eyes, ears, nose, teeth, neck Hair Coloration Eyes/eye shine/ears Skin tone Musculature Hands Feet Physical appearance – size Thickness front to back Foot dimensions Frame proportions, ratios of anatomical parts Height Width Weight Behavioral characteristics Concealment Stalking, tree peeking Mobility Athleticism Running speed Uphill speed Jumping Gait Noises Possible vocalizations Possible knocking Footsteps sounds Threat display Intimidation displays Aggression Other Gifting Twist-offs

  6. Hi All...I used to be on these forums quite a few years ago, from 2004-2012? I was Sailgirl. I decided to come back to this site. I am from WI. I have been researching Bigfoot since around 1986. I have done quite a bit of my own research in the backwoods of Northern/North Central WI. I have seen 14" prints with 5 toes. I have heard whoops as well. No visual sightings though.
