  1. With serious pucker factor. Wow. Got a spot or two within a few hours' drive that look like somewhat like that. I'm very leery of them when it is either freezing or thawing since both can break loose big rocks that, even if they don't hit you, can render the road impassible. This particular rat doesn't like going into a hole that doesn't have at least 2 exits. I've seen too many trees, slides, rock-falls, etc block roads. MIB

  2. Made another 1/2 day excursion into BF sighting territory this Sunday afternoon (Love the later sunset now), with my wife riding along. This time, we chose a N/S valley very near the famous Ruby Creek event of the late '40s. I was hoping that the warm, sunny weather this past week would have melted a lot of the snow at higher elevations, as all the logging roads in this region climb steeply, from near sea level in the Fraser Valley, to 4,000 ft or more at the tributary headwaters, usually in a fairly short distance. The first km of the road was clear and dry, but as we started to climb, I could see that the melt water had left an inch or 2 of soft mud on the surface, making it a bit slippery. It also showed that I was the first to venture up that particular road since the surface was exposed, as I was leaving the only tracks in evidence. We watched carefully for any sign of tracks in the soft surface, but saw none at all. At about km5, there were patches of snow on the road, with some icy compact areas, from snowmobilers using it earlier in the season. Shortly past there, the road continued to rise fairly steeply, with more compact ice , now covering most of the surface. It's very narrow and twisty through this section, so I had no turn-around available till I reached a plateau in the climb, with a spot just wide enough to turn my quite short SUV around. The tricky part was getting back down the icy section without slipping into the rockface, or into the guardrail on the other side, or over the edge where there was no rail. Keeping the speed to a crawl got us back down the white knuckle section, and allowed a leisurely cruise back out to pavement at Hwy 7, just before sunset. We saw nothing of interest on the Sasquatch front, but had a very scenic, and sometimes intense, trip into the hills in historically active Sasquatch country.

  3. Bipedalist, I am curious about your cryptic note. I don't think Bigelow, NIDS and/or, BASS were researching bigfoot at the SWR or in the surrounding areas. The book tells the story of one guy with night vision binoculars who claims to have seen a cryptic creature come out of a "portal" but he did not call it a bigfoot (because there were not enough details to be extracted from the sighting). I know that Dr. Eric Davis (who is not the guy who saw the creature) is on a Youtube video saying that the creature was bigfoot like (because it was a tall hairy humanoid). However, the book never said it was hairy. It just stated that it was a huge, black humanoid, about six foot tall and 400 lbs. I also don't recall reading about any BF sightings on the property in the Kelleher/Knapp book. Thus, I wonder if your note is about millionaires who study anomalies and invest a lot of money at studying them, and don't get much evidence/results (a general observation instead of a sasquatch specific). I am aware of plenty of BF sightings reports in the high Uintas (north of SWR) and friends of mine had visual encounters over there. I just do not associate SWR with BF. Claims of cattle mutilations, orbs, UFOs, cryptic creatures (wolf, dogman, tall humanoids, etc), invisible entities, yes. If you prefer to discuss this via PM, please let me know I can do that instead. Another key question that you could be raising (that is of much interest to me) is if any of these anomalistic phenomena is knowable with our scientific methods, instruments, and capabilities. Maybe Bigelow did not get the physical evidence or the great video evidence that he was expecting, but he learned much about what the phenomena is not and how weird it truly is.

  4. I was out checking an area this weekend, as well. Just south of where BC Witness was. I went to the Chilliwack River Valley. Tried to get up to Foley Lake, but there was still a foot and a half of snow. A small avalanche blocked the FSR. ATV's could get over it but the snow was too deep and soft for my truck. I parked it and my wife and I hiked the 5 km up to the lake, instead. After we got back to the vehicle, we went to a forestry campground nearby (no snow there), where a witness had told me that he had experiences nearly every time he camped there. Bipedal footfalls within the campground, pine cone throwing, etc. A beautiful area with tall Pine trees and mossy undergrowth outside the camping boundaries. Like walking on carpet. Definitely going to have to spend a weekend or two there.

  7. Hiflier, you need to chill out. You are going to give yourself a stroke. The BFF is not a research site. Read the new member section and see that 99% of the newbies just want to read stories and watch you tube. Citizen science is difficult. Dependability, reliability, repeatability and durability take time to develop. Unfortunately, the entertainment groups have created a clown show. The media dollies need to be kicked to the curb. There are many smart people on this forum. 4 season, boots to the ground type. Streaming ones and zeros don't do much out in the field. Emails to DNR won't work. As you know, Washington State has had efforts to make Sasquatch the State Monster/Mammal and recently the State Cryptid. Government knows. One can not expect an agency/department head to allocate funds, resources and manpower to pursue an unidentified/ unclassified animal even though 2 counties have ordinances prohibiting the shooting/killing of a Sasquatch. How close have you been to a Sasquatch? I have been 37' away. I am trying to close the distance but it is not easy.

  8. Get over yourself... nobody does anything here because of you, except to respond to off topic rants. Didn't you leave this forum for good? twice?

  9. Do you ever get tired of going on your tirades when you people do not want to do things your way and follow your plan of action? You've harped on this now just like you did your network plan some months ago. People give you reasons why they don't agree or choose not to participate and you have a hard time not getting your way. Its the same old song and dance.

  10. The NAWAC is still active in Area X. We had a good summer with several sightings by several members. Part of the mission was captured by Seth Breedlove (Small Town Monsters) and will be featured in his upcoming "On the Trail of Bigfoot" 6 part series. I think release is in March. There was a good presentation on Area X and Tag 7 at the 50th Anniversary of the PG film celebration that was filmed....not sure that ever got released to the public. Anyway, I think I am the only NAWAC member on this forum, so I can update on occasion but not on a regular basis. Thanks for the interest!

  12. One of the more negative posts I've seen coming from you. As far as the kids? Kind of early to be writing them off dontcha think? I guess you not to happy with them though because I didn't see you praising their actions as much as you stating their goal is essentially a lost cause. Capitulation isn't palatable for everyone ya know. So unless everyone here believes going against the .gov'ers is useless the alternative just might be only a blustering posture simply for the sake of argument. And just to get things straight, I don't set myself up to fail. I have danged good reasons for doing what I'm doing. And because I do and have the people involved with the nesting site actually being there? I will NOT fail to get my answer. Why? Because the parties involved are in an indefensible position and between the proverbial rock and a hard place. In other words DNR actually CAN'T say anything and they know it. And so do I, which is too bad for them because they will eventually have state the truth. Folks don't think they do but they do. I look at it this way. Being accountable is part of their job. I honestly don't think Commissioner Hilary Franz ran for her position just so she could keep things from the public do you? I would give her more credit than that. In other words, MIB, I don't think my emails are being ignored as much as they just don't know what to do with them. My 5th one goes out tomorrow. Why? Because I CHOOSE to. And as long as I have that choice I'm going to exercise it. None of you need bother, OKAY? I got this.
