  1. I disagree. You're here. You're a skeptic. There's a huge difference between a skeptic and a scoftic / denialist. I'll summarize what I've learned about each in my time here on BFF: We need skeptics. We need science-minded people keeping our feet on the ground, keeping the evidence in focus, suggesting things we should look for to substantiate the existence of bigfoot whether the skeptic believes they exist or not. In other words, science is a process and we need skeptics to engage in the process just as much as we need proponents. We do not need scoftics / denialists. They are not here to participate in scientific processes, they are here to derail discussion and stop science from being done. In a sense they are scared believers, so scared that bigfoot MIGHT indeed exist that they dare not allow anyone to look. The safety and security of their world view is threatened by honest inquiry. Another way to look at it is that a skeptic is someone who could be convinced by evidence and is curious about the truth, wants to be right in the end more than to tell others what is allowed to be right. A scoftic / denialist does not care about the truth, they want to force the dogma of non-existence on others. MIB

  5. ^^^ When folks start posting about aliens, telepathy, shape-shifting on a Florida skunk ape post, you can tell that we have reached diminishing returns on this topic. But before we close and kill this thread, there is one more article about the Florida Green Swamp Skunk Ape research that I will like to share. The article is old (it was posted in the Miami New Times back in 2016) but it is a good summary of the research that two guys are doing in the Green Swamp. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/two-mens-quest-for-floridas-mysterious-skunk-ape-8648369 The 2 researchers are Chris Conner and Mark Barton and they have their own Youtube channel where they post all their findings/adventures. I have only watched a couple of their Youtube channel videos and they seem to be honest guys trying to figure out what is out there. However, I don't know enough to recommend it. Caveat Emptor. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmjZMCMPWuUXTvQyg5fKaLQ/videos I will try to reach out to them to see if they knew Carolann Solomon and what is their opinion of her claim that the rangers in that Wilderness have a game camera photo of a skunk-ape. Long shot but nothing to lose by asking.

  6. I consider the premise to be flawed, as the evidence is not as the premise summarizes. We kept a thread going for months that pulled in scores of examples of tree manipulations, structures and other "stuff" that is difficult to explain otherwise. Moreover, there have been many accounts of these things in the context of a Class A sighting, a number of eyewitnesses to contemporaneous creation, and at least one or two witnesses to the actual creation of them. I also disagree with the premise that these structures are easily explained as being caused by natural forces/occurrences. That is a handy thought stopper, but when pressed to explain something truly extraordinary and puzzling, and are asked to give the mechanical details of how something like this could be formed, they wave their hands and mumble "ice storm, snow storm, wind...." As if those wouldn't be the first things any rational person would consider and rule out. Plenty of what you encounter in the woods is the result of natural processes, and many of the things attributed to Sasquatch manipulations undoubtedly are too. What that leaves you with though are the tougher nuts to crack and unless you can plausibly say, "THIS was caused by THIS, and this is HOW", you have as much uncertainty as the rest of us and you are going to lack a definitive explanation. For those things in that last category, the choice narrows down to "Something very strong, with a big reach, and with hands". The long list of possible causes, at that point, only has one candidate on it.
