  1. Went to a new area this past weekend. Unfortunately, the spot I wanted was already taken by other campers, so I had to choose a location too near a river with noisy rapids for my tastes. Thought I heard two knocks last night, but they were drowned out by the sounds of the river. Guess I'm just going to have to take some time off during the week, to ensure as few other people as possible around. Even though I got zero activity, it was still a nice quiet trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  2. Mid-80s, driving long, lonely highway Albuquerque to El Paso, gonna spend the day touristing in Juarez (hey, it was a helluva long time ago.) Girlfriend sleeping in passenger seat, me nodding off from featureless, monotonous terrain. Suddenly, only a few hundred feet above us, an F16 overshooting our car and making high-speed pirouette turn! Woke me right the hell up, I hope to tell you. Saw his wingman above and behind him, too. Saw a pair of oryx on the trip, too. Didn't know what they were, until I mentioned them to my bro-in-law. They were pretty rare, he was impressed with the sighting.

  4. Your mental health issues have never stopped you before. That's what we admire about you, a dullard can still carry on a decent conversation. Sykes, Schmikes, who cares. You know what we've been talking about in the Tar Pit. I can't believe you've been missing all the fun, that's why I though for certain you were taking a dirt nap. Well, we know there are people out there, like the North Pond Hermit. The guy ran around the woods in Maine for over 25 years, he was looked at as somewhat of a myth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Thomas_Knight

  5. Say hello to Kirk for me, Nathan. We attended our first BFRO expedition at the same time, and camped next to each other -- I was the guy in the hammock. Kirk called me out in the parking lot of a local grocery a year or two later; I think he recognized my car. That's where I heard about his thermal footage from New Mexico. It's good to know Kirk is still active. I subscribed to your channel and will catch up.

  6. I just subscribed to your channel. This is our groups youtube channel. We are only about our field research. We don't do none of the drinking tea with the forest people, ect. Few days ago we started up a Youtube live stream broadcast and did our first one. We are going to be doing them often with different guests on. If you just want out in the field research stuff then you might like our channel or facebook group. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt8qeNsJTa5L1ru3f92NePw/featured

  8. Creeks and low and slow river beds make good travel pathways for these creatures to move through. Even the swamps make it good for them since it keeps their scent in check as well as their tracks hidden. Swimming and flowing down stream in rivers gets them to go further into areas with out being seen and is more stealthy. But just the thought that these creatures in Florida are capable to live in the swamps where there are gators and all the nasty critters that live in there is amazing. Their shelters must be in places that we might not be able to reach by foot or by boat. That must mean that they might be in trees like giant nest. but who knows if this has been investigated. Again this is all speculation.
