  1. I don't have much interest in any of the youtube bigfooters EXCEPT a seemingly new guy, howtohunt.com, is putting up some stories that ring as reasonable. I am skeptical of all of them for one reason or another. I think there's something to be learned from most but you have to learn to back-filter their personal biases out to get to the value. I'm not going to name names, some of the folks are personal friends and I'd have to bash them pretty hard to explain what to take away from each. I think I can answer that safely. There are 4 I suggest starting with. In no particular order, 1) The Locals by Thom Powell 2) Enoch by Autumn Williams 3) Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science by Jeff Meldrum 4) Abominable Snowmen: Legend Come to Live by Ivan Sanderson I think understanding each point of view is necessary to understand why we don't have proof yet. In addition, Sanderson gives a more worldwide view as well as an older view. Once you're grounded via those 4, then there's a ton more reading to do. What I do not find useful are more "bigfoot crossed the road ahead of me" accounts. There is nothing further to learn form those other than building a map of sightings in time / space to perhaps help focus on locations that increase the probability of having a (or another) sighting. The hoaxers on the sasquatch detective hall of shame. I would avoid anyone making absolute statements about what they are sure of. I would watch out for anyone posing as a sasquatch authority. I learned much from my research partner of past days .. who will remain nameless. I question much of what I learned .. needs to be verified and has not been. I think that's a solid theme. Get the ideas others are willing to share but don't accept them without doing your own verification. Too many people want to be spoon fed ... they need to examine what's in the spoon when that happens. Rather than looking to someone else for your truth, find others willing to go in search of truth with you. Have not met you or Northwind but I believe that working together you are potentially ahead of the talking heads you are looking for. Have faith in yourself / yourselves. In the end, as I found with my research partner, I'm all I've truly got, the rest is fleeting. MIB

  2. I have a map of my county. It has every encounter over the last 20 years or so that i could find online, plus my own stuff. It does show definite patterns.

  3. Depends on their range and likely movements. For example, if they do indeed inhabit Florida, it's not likely that you will find sasquatch footprints in the snow there. And if their seasonal movements are like other animals (like the deer they likely prey on occasionally), they follow the melting snow uphill in spring and early summer, inhabit the high country during the summer, and they get pushed down by snow into the lower elevations where the occasional snows that fall melt quicker. Eastern Washington has winter sasquatch track finds in snow in the lower elevations rather regularly. Sunnyslope, Bossburg, Walla Walla, etc. This may be because the lower elevations east of the Cascades is a high plateau, fairly cold, and it holds snow longer. There are quite a few winter sightings west of the Cascades and Olympic Mountains where there is little snow, and that makes all the sense in the world. I tend to disagree with such theories. First of all, I don't think there are many of these creatures at all; 5,000 continent-wide maximum, and likely fewer. Secondly, if they travel close to human populations, it is likely done very carefully and at night. Thirdly, if they travel in snow, it likely melts off before people find the tracks. Finally, snow is a lousy medium to cast in, and prints distort rather quickly. If you're looking for prints in snow, it should be soon after a light snowfall of less than 12", and it should be for the purpose of finding fresh sign; a location where a sasquatch is nearby.

  5. A good theory and here is more to that. By mastering fire and habitually cooking their meat, Homo species developed microbes that were able to properly digest and adapt their immune system. Species that eat raw meat get different microbial reactions to adapt their immune system. BF eats anything but is not known to cook its food. That means its physiology is unique for a humanoid mammal. This could be a clue to other areas of their appearance and behavior. Also their fierce stink.

  6. You guys are nuts😁well maybe just some of you. If you think you will get away with proving this by a body if the feds wants this to stay hidden. You won't. They will ruing your lives and any you involve in this. They will say it was fake. Find things they install oon your computer that will discredit you and very likely put you in prison.

  8. Hello Bigfoot Forums, Have followed the Bigfoot phenomena since I first saw The Legend of Boggie Creek in '72. I have yet to actually participate in any expeditions. I am now at a point in my life where I plan to go back and start this new journey. I am looking forward to relearning, reading and talking with all about their discussions. FX4

  9. I will probably be shunned for heresy but Roger and Bob did not get a pass with anyone but believers and are part of the necessity to get get a body for scientific acceptance. The fact that Roger had a shady background and used the film for monetary gain just clouds the validity of the film and creates the suspicion of hoax. . The squabble over spitting the money from the film just added to the controversy. Had it been two university scientists doing a bear study who made the film, the outcome from the film could have been much different.

  10. You're right in that, Hunster, I've certainly eaten my share around this joint. It's not too, too bad. But it certainly doesn't taste like chicken!

  11. Here's a thought my beloved wife and I discussed this morning: Had sasquatches tamed and used fire, they likely would have been exterminated long ago like Neanderthals, Denisovans, and perhaps others, because they would have been easier to find. By being even more primitive than Stone Age man, they have been able to hide better.

  13. Just a quick Google search brought up a nice visual of the intelligences. https://blog.adioma.com/9-types-of-intelligence-infographic/

  15. As an early childhood educator, I have a couple of children in the autism spectrum at my school and the differences in how they live in the world ranges from trivial to dramatic, but it's always present. I watch one of my two year olds and just wonder how his little mind works. What also fascinating me is that his classmates (all 2 year olds) know that he is different, and they are so gentle with him. They realize that this kiddo just doesn't understand the classroom rules. Two year olds know all about ruls, even if they insist the rules don't apply to themselves, lol! For instance, when we line up to go to the lunchroom, we stand on numbers. Each child seems to have the number that they like and God help the child who wants to stand anywhere else, it distressed everyone. Not one of thecares es that child X is wandering around and, for his part, Child X has no idea that the numbers are for standing on. He does however, sing the Stand In Line song while the other kids as they do it! He sings pitch perfect - at two years old! - also. He's amazing. It's like watching whole other varieties of intelligence at work. It always makes me wonder how sasquatch think, which intelligences they utilize in their lives. Every good educator should be somewhat knowledgeable about the different types of intelligences - kinetic, emotional, spatial etc. It makes sense to me that bigfoots prioritize and use different intelligences than us, and that a similar-to-autism way of thinking would benefit them in their solo/small family unit s in the wild.

  17. Taking it from a point of already extracted from site and in my garage. I’d start with video from multiple angles of me poking and prodding the body showing anatomic features such as eyes, teeth, gums, etc. then I’d cut the body into many pieces and have them stored at various locations. Then the videos would be uploaded online to multiple places all at the same time. My goal would be to put the videos out there and have them viral before contacting any academics or authority. From there I have a hard time fathoming how events would play out.

  18. I consider Paul Freeman to be the best sasquatch tracker in modern times. Why? * He focused on one area. Granted, he was an outdoor worker in that area, so he was essentially paid to be there, but the point is that (unlike so many before and after him) he didn't run all around the PNW from Alaska to Los Angeles chasing reports. He knew these things lived in the Blue Mountains, and that's where he focused. * He kept records and found patterns. His map of footprints, dates, and directions is an excellent example. In the end, this work led him to a quality sighting and filming. * His focus and persistence led him to a quality sighting and filming. How many people can claim that? Even Patterson and Gimlin were looked at suspiciously by many in the area as lucky cowboys to have come there from Washington and gotten the film. Not Freeman. he knew where to be and when, and it paid off. * Even Meldrum was suspiciously surprised when he stopped to meet Freeman unexpectedly and was brought out to see fresh prints that Freeman had found that very morning. Freeman found prints regularly. He was good at it. * The last Freeman interview is telling. He pretty much said that he really didn't care what others said and thought about him. He was in it simply for the thrill of seeing these creatures, and he didn't care if the pointy heads ever accepted their existence. * All told, Paul Freeman claimed four sightings and countless footprint finds

  19. All you can do is what you can do. If the Feds put their full weight on you? Your going to feel it. That’s why you get the media involved. Call George Knapp. Call the local stations. Go get a credit card in your cousins uncles brother n laws name and start renting mini stg units with 110v and go buy 5 chest freezers. Have him rent a couple of cabins in the mountains or cabin cruisers in a small harbor. Root cellars work too. Pack ice in sawdust. And I would just go to the closest biology dept. Evergreen state college whatever and plunk something down. With media present. Send your family away on a road trip to northern BC for a period of time. Don’t allow them to call you. Call them from a pay phone at a predetermined time. The only way this sticks is if your determination is unwavering. You may lose some meat and gristle in the fight. You might get bloodied or bruised. Hard to say. It may all be paranoia. It may not be. Trust little and have ten contingency plans. Keep yer eye on the prize. One of the greatest discoveries in the history of mankind.

  20. So little is known of bigfoot I’m often wary of anyone that claims to know for certain anything. The best people, imo, to learn from are knowledgeable hunters and out doors-man and what I try to take away from them is basic knowledge of the wilderness.
