  1. I think this is most likely correct. Something so close to us that the DNA tests used for species identification mistakes it for us, contamination or slightly degraded. That points to something much much closer than chimp. There are, however, some anomalies of behavior / apparent ability which should not be ignored. There is something to the picture we don't understand yet. MIB

  3. It seems to me that it is some branch of the human family tree that did not get it's fabrication gene turned on. It seems incapable of the simple fabrications what direct human ancestors have been doing for the better part of a million years. Without imagination, fabrication, ever more complex tools, humans might have gone extinct too. We are a naked ape that cannot survive in a good part of the planet without fire, clothing we make, sharing space with predators that can easily kill us without weapons of defense.

  5. I saw on the news this morning that a new Bigfoot museum opened in Boring Oregon. Cliff Barackman from Finding Bigfoot was being interviewed and is somehow attached to it. I will be going to visit it soon. https://northamericanbigfootcenter.com/

  6. I think Ed Dames is fascinating. One thing that stands out about him is most of his stories don't go off the deep end like some of his counterparts and people he has trained through his former company Psi Tech (stuff like having bases on mars, etc.) Dames sticks to real possibilities but I am not certain of its validity.

  7. Ah. I used to catch lots of these orange ones in California when I was young by hand, and we were catching them while fishing a lake in Oregon in 1980........LOTS of them.

  9. MIB. Did you think about talking to it? That is my go to thing when I think one is close. Have yet to get an answer but I think it conveys the message that you think they are intelligent and capable of conversation. A calm voice on our end might be comforting for them to know we are not going to freak out and start shooting or something. I do the same thing with deer and rabbits and it seems to work with most animals too.

  10. It was weird. Prior to Saturday I've heard 4 knocks that I identify .. total, ever. Where we camped was a dead end. There's a lake on top of a high (800 foot) bluff. To go past it you have to backtrack a quarter to half mile. It either followed us or it was heading to the same place for some reason, not just passing through. The knocks were not particularly loud but they all came from roughly 30 feet from where I was laying in my bivy. Did not seem to be affected by the noise of me rolling over nor by the finger-snaps I tried to see if I could get a response. (Maybe next time I'll clap?) The knocks went on, in clusters, for just over an hour. It ended in a vocalization. The knocks and stuff were fine, comfortable. Anticipating, but in a good way. That vocalization was very creepy, ominous, and weird. Not all that loud, just a little louder than the knocks, but the content ... yech. Imagine a racoon "chuckle" overlaid by a huge number of clicks and "scratches", overlapping, with some rising and others falling at the same time. Was .. unearthly. Never heard approach or departure sounds, just began and ended. I'd set up the audio recorder 100 yards or a little more outside camp to pick up vocalizations from the far side of the canyon. I deliberately didn't put one in camp 'cause last time I did, all I picked up was us snoring. That bit me in the butt this time, a recorder 20 yards out would have gotten some very cool stuff.

  11. I agree on the day sighting photo. The artists renditions are all over the place on what an adult BF looks like. I would feel more comfortable if another good day photo or video corroborated the P/G film. If two pictures taken 50 years apart show basically the same thing we are looking at the same species or the same master costume maker. The longer the interval between pictures the less likely it is a talented costume maker still making them. 30 year old costume maker in 1967 would be over 80 now. If we can believe the artists renditions are accurate, we must have more than one species. I disagree about the withdrawal of a BF being quieter than human. I based that on my encounter in which two adult BF were unaware that I was present. The best representation of how one of them sounded approaching me through the woods was the scene in the original Jurassic Park movie in which the T Rex was approaching in the woods. They do not slip into the quiet mode unless they know a human is present and they want to move with stealth. If discovered or if they think a human is not present they have no reason to be quiet. If you try to flush one, by approaching they make noise, moving. In another encounter when I was trying to get one to break cover, I not only heard it moving away, but it finally growled when it got tired of the game. They are a very large biped moving through the down wood and make an incredible amount of noise breaking things and producing heavy thuds at each footfall. I wish to heavens that my recorder got into record mode and you all would know what I am saying. Numerous reports of BF trying to escort humans out of an area or paralleling humans on a trail mention they produce a lot of noise when they choose to.

  12. I put about as much weight on this notion of Chris Noel's as I do on MK Davis' massacre theory. It is too judgemental, too rooted in modern human assumptions. The same result can, in my opinion, more logically be attributed to a more emotionally-motivated, less logically-constrained, group of "people." That condition appears necessary/natural lacking codified laws and formal enforcement, more what you'd see of uber-primitive humans or even with humans in functionally lawless areas. So far as light up the night, if you mean light projecting from the eyes .. well, I haven't seen it myself. I spent 1.5 hours Saturday night with "someone" wood-knocking about 30 feet from me, over 40 knocks total (about 10x the sum of all I'd ever heard before), and no light seen. What I meant, instead, was infrasound use, apparent night vision, and the apparent ability to detect very well hidden cameras and avoid them. MIB

  13. Hi everyone. I've been reading and believing in Bigfoot for at least 28 years of my life now. I'm in the panhandle of western Maryland and it's very rural and mountainous. I'm sure that many sightings around here go unreported due to fear of ridicule. My question is how can people not believe in Bigfoot? Too many credible witnesses have seen them for me to think otherwise. I've been lurking for a while and this forum is amazing. Lots of interesting reads.

  15. I'm not seeing a decline of interest in Bigfoot. Just for leisurely scrolling I an subscribed to tons of FB groups. What I am seeing is more groups emerging. Same questions and comments in all of them. People thinking Bobo is an authority on the subject as well as David Paulides, who oddly enough, doesn't have to comment on Bigfoot to be an assumed Bigfoot expert (even though here never claimed to be). Same photos or varieties of photos offering nothing new at all. People with experiences they don't know who else to inform. Doesn't seem like much has changed over the years in bigfootery except the medium.

  16. Epic outing, norseman! I'm very jealous, I'd love to see that wild Co. country. The two alpine meadow shots look very much like the old Hudson Bay trail over the Whipsaw pass, near Princeton, BC.
