  1. Well for my first official BF event, Honobia was interesting, even though I had to wait all day for what I considered to be the best part, Morehead & Scott Nelson were the last to speak, but worth the wait. The rest of it (outside festival) was kind of like a country carnival, colorful & something for everybody. (I was there mostly for the speakers) I thought it very cool to see at the end, the 4 main speakers on stage together: Morehead, Nelson, Igor Burtsev & M. K. Davis. I only wished that M.K. had spoken about the PGF analysis but his road trip to Bluff Creek was interesting to tag along on. Igor's enthusiasm is pretty contagious, really passionate, & even with his strong accent spoke slowly enough that he was understood for the most part. Most memorable moment: hearing the auditorium filled with the Sierra Sounds right off the bat (Nelson on stage, his intro, it came out of "no-where"!) at who-knows-how-many-decibels...rattled everybody to the core! (now I can die sublime...)

  2. Hey madison5716....you should post a few of those, would be interesting to see:) Finally getting some colder nights, mid 40's, and a favorite seasonal food for the Hairymen has started......I have noticed this for over 30 years, so nothing new but always interesting. During the summer season I will find several ground hornet nests, and remember their location for obvious reasons, but also what happens when the weather gets cold. I know where the nests are, and the Hairyman does too.......last night was the coldest this season, and they wait until these cold nights to excavate these nests when the hornets are cold and not moving too well, they are after the tasty grubs. I've seen animals dig these up too, but the aftermath is is totally different and obvious. The Hairyman is quite calculated in his method, and in this case a stick was used to dig it up, as seen in the photo......then I will find pieces of the nest where they drop them while heading down their trails, no teeth marks, and the grubs are carefully removed....has anyone else noticed this behavior? Also, a few recent prints, the first one is a double print, with a smaller one under the bigger outlined print......have a fantastic weekend all!!

  3. I suppose that is left to your interpretation , I was exposed to very frequent interactions near my home and with that I became desensitized to the level of ( very real ) danger in approaching such a wild creature. In the time since I believe my level of respect regarding their power and ability has matured, that being said I still may break away from better judgment if I felt I could capture something remarkable. Nothing risked, nothing gained. I would say I am motivated to find resolution, I would be lying if I said I was not interested in proving my story to those significant to me. I have faced a great deal of criticism from friends, family and complete strangers but this is not just my own story. I want the truth displayed for every single person who has been in my shoes and to most of all protect these creatures and their habitat ranges.
