  1. The lady mushroom picker either eats weird shrooms, or doesn't know the wildlife she's supposedly amidst - there aren't grizzlies in Oregon. After they spent that time talking with her, I had a hard time taking any of it seriously. But they do have a lot of cool equipment, and a couple of quite qualified people, IMO. So I hope for more interesting episodes ahead! On a side note, I was talking with Cliff Barackman a couple days ago, and he was REALLY unhappy about the new show. He thinks it's a lightweight silly show - and offensive in the extreme to any serious bigfoot researcher. Which, I admit, I thought was a bit ridiculous coming from someone who did years of t.v. on a show made up of caricatures.

  2. Yeah, but they don't cost $500 a head to run one. From their website: "BFRO expedition organizers bring participants to areas where they will have encounters with Bigfoots at night." Key word WILL. Regardless of how the BFRO started out, it's a snake oil franchise now. It is selling the promise of an experience to people who are willing to pony up $500. Anyone here who has spent time in the field knows how sporadic activity is...even in a hot spot. People pay 5 bills for encounters, they are going to expect encounters. If real encounters don't occur frequently enough, is the BFRO just going to say "Sorry. No refunds!". Or are they going to make sure that the participants get their moneys worth..one way or another? No matter what their intentions starting out, the BFRO is an entertainment company now. Not research.

  3. It's because someone is dipping their pen in his inkwell. Regardless of their intentions starting out, the entire Finding Bigfoot cast is a joke. They tossed aside their credibility in order to sell t shirts with "Squatching" on the front.

  4. Better yet anyone get a call asking for you to be a substitute on the show? There are several major actors in the bigfoot world that live in Oregon. I suspect that someone no one has heard of will get tapped to join the show. I had not thought that the illness could be contrived. Maybe RPG hit on Dr Major and she said he needed to go or she was done with the show?

  5. Be interesting to see if she has a real interest in the subject, or if she was just a hired gun for the show. I hope that you let us know if she responds.

  6. Yup. Virginia Fish and Wildlife were the agency involved. https://cryptomundo.com/bigfoot-report/virginia-hunter-shoots-a-bigfoot/

  7. My recall is that the alleged shooting was an event reported in Tazwell County, VA.

  8. Ah. That little tidbit of evolving Bigfoot lore... The Sasquatch world's own Men In Black...err...Brown. There have been a couple of accounts that feature these two guys. Same description each time. A shorter, well built gentleman who is well groomed and dressed in a polo shirt. An absolutely huge guy with rough mannerisms. Described as dressing like a lumberjack. Iirc, all of the accounts have come from Sasquatch Chronicles, although their may be a few that I have missed. The first account that I remember hearing is the bear hunter who shot a female out of a pair. The male grabbed her body and took off up the side of a cliff. The hunter reported it to F&W, who sent out a guy on Thanksgiving day to check it out. The F&W agent found and took a sample of bloody snow. A few days later, the pair described above showed up at the hunter's job, demanding his silence. The second account was when SQ was in its "the insider/Mr Black" phase when Jevning was on the show. They had a member of law enforcement on who had repeated run in with these guys. After a few clashes, they supposedly offered him a job. I want to say that they have cropped a few other times. Not sure whether it was a legitimate occurrence or just a piece of fabrication that became popular.

  9. I reached out to Dr. Major. She's a 15-year primatologist with Western Lowland Gorillas. I asked if she knew about the nest discovery in the OlymPen. Don't know if I'll hear back from her but ya never know.....

  10. Too early to tell. Initial impressions without spoilers: It looks like they approached this seriously, unlike the goofiness of Finding Bigfoot. It doesn't make everyone interested in the subject come across as bit nutty. They have access to some really good equipment. The primatologist is going in skeptical, but with a somewhat open mind. I don't know what Russell's MOS was in the Army, but they really play up his military survival training. If that pack he was carrying was full of anything other than cotton, and he was going to ruck approximately 30 miles with it, then he is a hard man. The RPG guy was the only one trying to force "catchphrases" into the dialogue. Squatchy. Footy. Footing. Etc.

  11. All good stuff....thanks guys! I have 2 water bowls out there in 2 remote places for the dogs in summer.......my main one disappeared about 3 months ago, only to reappear last week about 3 miles away, and thrown in some brush.

  12. They do come and go. I'll vouch for that. And it's not seasonal so much. They'll seem to be gone for years then ohp there was a wood knock.... they're baaaaack.... I live in the woods for all intent and purposes with the tree line not but 50 yards from my house. I know generally when they're back.

  13. I had to pleasure of meeting Charles on one of the BFRO expeditions that I co organized here in WA, he is as legitimate as they come and on all accounts is a good man with the background to prove it. I have yet to go over the entirety of his book but I have briefly gone over some of the information and can say that it is very much worth buying and keeping in the day-pack.

  14. Whoa! Pareidolia! On the first pic I see what looks like a giant deer (?) to the left of the people,, including dark eye and nose, with the pink from the back of someone’s jacket even looking like a tongue. Of course in the video all look like normal people.
