  1. Check out this program: https://ucedna.com/our-mission I emailed them and Yeeeees, asked them point blank about Bigfoot. They wrote back very quickly and said: "You're inquiry is not unscientific at all. We actually have collaborators working on eDNA to detect the Loch Ness Monster. I'm copying xxxxx here, who is leading that project, who may be able to briefly explain the method of using DNA from known references to infer the presence of something unknown." ^^ The underlined above is an intriguing statement. ^^ I sent a follow up because I STILL think e-DNA is the way to pursue Sasquatch in this day and age. I made them aware that, to my knowledge, there is no Sasquatch DNA in the record for comparison but I am going to stay with this to see what if anything could be done. I am curious about other programs in other states or areas that will train volunteers to tank samples from the environment and send them in for testing. The program in the link provides the training as well as the equipment for doing the field samples. I'm curious if anyone trained in the technique could take a few samples from Bluff Creek. Would be pretty cool.

  2. Sasquatching in winter in cold parts of the country can present both opportunities and significant challenges. One such challenge is staying both warm and dry. I like to hike around the woods looking for footprints in the snow where I'll stay overnight. Over the years, I've tried a few approaches to keeping my feet warm. I think I've finally found one that works for me. The challenge in winter is moisture control particularly if you are staying overnight. While hiking in winter, your feet will sweat but they may be kept warm while doing so. It's not a huge deal as you'll be headed back to your car and home by day's end. Foot moisture is a nuisance at a minimum or a danger in the extreme when you stay over in the woods. What do you do when you stay overnight in 20F weather and the moisture in your boots cause them to freeze? You're in trouble. You must prevent this from occurring and there are a few options. 1) Create a vapor barrier. If you can create a way to keep the moisture next to your feet but away from the boot's insulating lining you can contain the problem. A simple solution is to carry extra socks with you and put your feet inside two plastic bags you get at the grocery store before you head out into the woods. The plastic bags create a vapor barrier. Your feet will get wet but the wetness will be contained within the thin plastic grocery bags. At night, when you remove your feet change your socks to dry ones and your boots are dry as a bone. You could also change out socks several time during the day. The plastic bags and and socks weigh almost nothing. It's a cost-free solution. For those who are fashion-oriented, you can buy vapor barrier socks that do the same thing for $20-$30. I prefer to use those funds for other sasquatching costs. 2) Get winter boots that have a removable inner liner. An inner bootie. I just got a pair of Baffin Snow Monster boots rated to -94F that have such a lining. They're not very heavy, a tad bulky but good enough to hike in. I purchased a 2nd removable liner so at night in the tent I remove the moist liner and put them at the bottom of my sleeping bag. In the morning, I'll insert the 2nd pair of dry liners and I'm good to go. The warmth of these boots are incredible. If you live in a very cold but dry snow climate, you can get mukluks with an inner liner. They are probably the best solution and are perfect for northern Minnesota, Alaska, or places where the conditions are sub 20F all the time. So, you have choices to stay warm and dry and not risk frostbite or worse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5A6fmahR68

  3. That's what real scientists do.

  4. Sweet! It would be interesting to know what they have to say about how to recognize that there's an unknown "afoot" and how much they can infer about it from the knowns they have to work from. MIB

  5. Good way to overstep someone's boundaries with consequences to pay. If someone pulled that on me, I'd lead them away from potential witnesses, then either ditch them in deep woods or ambush them. The choice would come down to which sort of location I found first. My advice is to be very cautious of assuming you will be the one choosing how the things you start will end. But .. ive been ignored before. MIB

  6. Trading whistles, bird-calls and percussives can occur when they know where we live too. I have years of experience with that. Doesn't mean they "live" next door to me. It does mean they frequent an area often enough to stay engaged for sure. Whether that infers residency, migration, seasonal use of resources, who knows? I sure don't have a clue in that element of their natural behavior. All I know in that specific engagement now is that things have gone quiet as far as I have been able to determine. I will admit I have not been trying to rustle anything up lately but have been a keen observer about the absence of prior sign.

  7. It's odd, whatever it is. I need to look at that second, smaller figure in greater detail. Eta.. people are throwing out down votes like candy all of a sudden.

  8. Makes me wonder how much physical diversity we will find in these creatures. If they are anything like us they will vary greatly in size and shape. It seems to my untrained eye that apes, gorillas, etc have less diversity in their makeup, a lot look of them look the same to me.

  9. BrB You are right he does not have to prove anything to me . I can sit back and wait and see what comes out of this . I have already seen and heard these creatures and have no problem there. So I am just interested on how others handle it. We all have our own red flags. So we should all be skeptical about every sighting until proven other wise. Is that not normal to be skeptical. Heck I really do not trust no one. But I trust what I have experienced. This is what I have to go by. This is what fits with what I have experienced. If it does not fit with in the perimeters that I have set then I have to toss it out. Now the people that know me I have a perimeter that ranges in the paranormal. So for me to say that some thing does not fit right with me means some thing. I have acquired my own proof whether people want to except is up to them.. So we should all be skeptical of what is be tossed our way. Starchunk had it right and I happen to agree with his point of view. If I bring some thing up I would hope that people would bring up critical thinking on what ever subject I placed on the table. It's called learning.

  11. I think the guy with the dog story is just a nut job. The whoops and vocalization was so loud and close. I have heard whoops and chimp noises at least 3 times.

  12. I had a real interesting exchange of whistles a few years ago. They were not loud, did not carry far. "We" (never saw the other half of the conversation) were separated by 15 feet or so through some very thick high elevation firs. We were in a bottleneck, my back was to the lake, its back was to a cliff wall. It would whistle, various counts, 1-3 little whistles, then I would repeat that back. After a few cycles, it would stop, then I would lead with a series of small, quiet whistles, 1-3, and it would "play them back" to me. That went on for some number of cycles of cycles, changes of lead, perhaps 20, 25, was not counting, but "many." Eventually I got bored, moved out of the little thicket of trees we were in to a more open space, and returned to fishing. Something ... I assume whatever it was, rejoined me after a few hundred yards when I left the opening and moved into more open, larger trees on the shore. It would knock, quietly, but only when I was at a point in my cast where I could not turn and look behind me. It followed me from there on around the lake doing that 'til it was time for me to return to my truck and go find a place to camp. Odd. Decidedly odd. NOT troubling, not at all. I've had some other weird stuff happen at that one particular lake over the years but nothing quite like that. MIB

  14. Eh. It's not great, but it is a cut above most cryptozoology themed television. I am kind of watching it out of spite after the derogatory comments that the Finding Bigfoot crew made online. It will probably be like most of these shows. Maybe 20 minutes of action spread over 8 episodes. I will more than likely completely lose interest after the third or fourth episode, and tune out completely. It's on in the background as I do other stuff.

  15. Thanks I just got on and checked posts. The one thing I have is character. I am not an attention seeker. I have nothing to gain from this. I could actually lose from this cuz I do hold a position in my community. The original picture is not tampered with it is what it is.

  17. I just read the bottom where you wrote aliens . I agree it's not people in Ghilley suits . If it's genuine then he caught something on camera we have never seen before .

  18. That pic has been throw multiple filters so it has no resemblance to the original. I have requested the original but if that does not work I will use the one at the start of the thread. I promise, it is not a turkey or owl. A few quick points: - the right arm for the BF in the forground is obscured by a branach coming up from the log - The right leg of the BF in the forground is partially blocked from the IR/flash making it look a little thin - The BF in back is a few feet below the one on front due to the severe ridgeline. Yes, we people in the east coast have ridges. The original pic has other weirdness that I think can be explained by an infant riding mommas shoulder and a yearling hanging from the front but will need more time to bring this out. It is not birds, fowl, people in Halloween costumes, or dumbest of all figurines (though BFRO gives it a run for its money for outright stupidity). It is either BF, two dudes in Ghilley suite, or maybe aliens. It is not 2 dudes in ghilley suites so that kind of narrows it down.

  19. You seem pretty sure of this. They don't look like any bigfoot I've ever seen photos or film of. What ever they are if it's not a hoax they are not human . You see a bigfoot in the photos?
