  1. I see faces in clouds, rocks and trees. When hunting I see tons of Deer and Elk that with further sun light reveal to be stumps, boulders and brush. In fact this is normal behavior. In the west a large amount of time is spent looking through binoculars at points of interest. Whats not normal is taking a picture, and days later studying the picture and becoming convinced you see Bigfeet in the picture. Almost all of these pictures I look at I’m convinced are just paredolia. I.e. Bigfoot face is gray..... the same color as all the rest of the Fir tree trunks in the photo. So back to hunting.... what tips me off that the tan boulder is really a deer? Most of the time? Movement. Does it move? An ear, a tail, etc. Sometimes sounds. Vocal, hooves, etc. Most people that take pictures and see stuff in them had no such collaborating evidence while taking the picture. I.e. Something was growling or a terrible stench was coming from the bushes so I took a picture. Some animals do attempt to hide from you. Cougar come to mind. They will belly crawl. Obviously Bigfoot must hide too. But it’s pretty hard to say every shadow in a picture is Bigfoot. Nice article!

  2. I have experienced the metal type sounds during an event, I have heard what sounds like steel poles being pulled over concrete, I have heard what sounded like a tin car door slamming ( jeep, geo ) in an area with ZERO cars around and I have heard what sounds like a tin can being thrown at a tree. I will share a fascinating story ( it is long but related to the metal sounds ) I was told by a partner/friend who remains in western WA at this time. I have spoke with him and the other fellow who was present for the experience several times and each time I think about the event it is just blows my mind. Both of these men are intelligent, aware and knowledgeable on all subjects and I trust them and their interpretation of the events as accurate. I may be missing some details or have a small detail miss placed but I will recall to the best of my knowledge. I believe this took place in February of 2012 at a research site in Lewis county of Washington state, my friend Kirk and his friend Bill had decided to visit an area that has been long known for activity to stay the night and see what happened. They went up to an old pit still gravel site to try and escape the onset of weather ( this area has always had activity ), they setup camp and bundled up to fight the cold. This gravel pit is about 65 yards long by 40 yards wide and the camp is in the bottom at a depth of about 12 to 14 feet. The pit kind of eats into the side of a plateau, the road skirts up and around to the back of the pit and continues on. Bill brought his truck mounted camper and Kirk setup to cramp all of his 6 '1 frame in his little 03 chevy tracker for the night. They stayed up for a while around a fire and the wind was blowing hard with a heavy wind chill, the temp that night was around 24 degrees or so. They grew tired of fighting the cold wind and decided to call it a night, they put out the fire and crawled in for the night until around 2 am Kirk woke up to a loud knock. It was so loud it startled him awake, the wind had died down but he sort of blew it off as something breaking and started to drift back to sleep but suddenly heard another loud bang coming from up on the left side of ledge of the gravel pit just up slope. He laid there listening for a few minutes and suddenly began hearing what sounded like a tin soup can or coffee tin being tapped on, it was without cadence or timing, just moments of constant tapping. The sound was coming from the same location of the second knock, it would go on and then stop for a few moments then continue for 30 seconds then stop for a minute at a time. This went on for several minutes then stopped for another length of time, suddenly the sound started again but this time it had moved about 15 yards closer along the rim of the gravel pit. The sound then began moving down from the rim to the bottom in camp and started circling the car, at this time Kirk is VERY awake and rather concerned. He told me that the inside of the car had frosted on all the windows do to breathing and the cold temps so he could not see anything, this thing suddenly stopped banging on the can and began touching the car, and then began tapping on the car for just a few moments then it fell quiet for several minutes. What Kirk did not know is that this animal left from his car to go over and explore around Bill's camper, Bill told me he woke up to the camper getting shoved, he is a side sleeper and the rocking was so hard that it rolled him onto his face and he woke up freaked out as his camper was rocking, for a split second he thought the wind was insane but it became clear that this was not the case as the thing stopped and then went around to the other side of the camper. The shaking stopped and the creature left Bill's camper and had now returned to Kirk's car and it began to start tapping on the car and putting weight against the car and moving it. It started going to the back of the car where Kirk had a bag of camping equipment on top of his car ( tent bags, cables, rope, bags, lighter and instant logs ), started grabbing and moving the bag off the top of the car, the sound stopped and then he heard the zipper running back and forth at a high rate of speed for several seconds. It was quiet for about a minute then the thing began bumping and tapping the car once again and by this time Kirk was completely unnerved and could not take any more so he set of the car lights, the horn and started screaming and pounding on the car to scare it off. The thing took off crashing up the slope and over the ledge and dropped into a ravine where it let out a loud whoop and it was gone, seconds after that Bill jumped out of the camper in his long johns with his light mounted AR15 and began sweeping the area, Kirk by this time exited the car with his light and they both started looking around the camp to make sure it was not still around. The noted that the bag had been removed from the roof and set on the ground with about half of the contents removed neatly next to the bag, they went over to the camper as Bill was explaining to Kirk what he heard and they found that the thing had gotten into a tub behind the camper also and opened the contents for examination. Bill did not hear this happen and was not aware until he walked Kirk over to the camper. They stayed awake for several hours talking about the experience with one eye over each shoulder. This event was one of the most interesting experiences I have heard told in person, in my opinion this thing was using some kind of tin can to try and find out if people where present or awake before coming in and investigating/testing the cars. That takes a high degree of planning, and tactical execution. This creature knew that people could be a danger so it came up with a plan to test the situation in escalating steps, first the general area and then each car individually with the tapping and rocking.

  3. I'm always looking for patterns and consistencies in the sighting database. We all know the ones most commonly reported, but there is one I think that might be getting overlooked, or maybe it is just too obvious to have drawn comment . Either way, I think it bears mentioning here. It is the observed tendency of a BF to more often than not take a straight-line tack, regardless of the steepness of the terrain or obstacles that might lie directly in its path. Any person who has spent time walking/hunting/backpacking knows that there are two ways up or down a mountain or hill. You can go faster/steeper or slower/less steep. This animal seems to almost always choose the first option. It is described time and again in the reports, but not really discussed or emphasized particularly. It almost seems like it has no vision for any path other than the one that lies straight ahead, no matter what is in the way...climbing straight-up cliffs, even going up and over stumps and rocks that could be easily skirted. Unlike most animals, especially humans, there doesn't seem to be any calories expended vs. calories saved analysis or debate with a BF. Can any others verify that they see this too? And what's up with that?

  4. I would think the head of the North Fork of Crooked river or farther east near Snow Mountain, closer to Burns, would be the most likely. That area kind of intrigues me but it is too far to drive regularly enough to truly research it. I have been to the area on Crooked River near Big Summit Prairie but it was quite a long time ago. The whole area seems too sparsely timbered to me. While plenty of timber, my eye is conditioned to the Cascades, Siskiyous, and Coast Range. Maybe someone forgot to tell bigfoot that I haven't approved their habitat? MIB

  5. Thank you so much for this, Norse. My only critique? The don't need the music. I was enthralled enough without it. I now have all 7 videos fired up and ready to watch.

  6. Something else that they may do is jump "big" things in their path. My son was out one night, standing uphill above a creek. He said he heard some coyotes headed his way, yipping. He stepped behind a shed to keep out of their sight, & when they got to the creek, they all went down in it to get across. He said that there was "something else" with them, running on all fours, that was the size of a big yearling calf. When it got to the bank of the creek, it easily jumped across, & ran on off beside the coyotes. That creek is about 16 feet across where it jumped.

  7. I've been watching the entire series, recording on DVR to FF through commercials and back up if something catches my eye. Last week I caught a camera man partially concealed behind a tree at the edge of a drone shot. I think what Ronny saw on thermal last night was a similar issue. I just brought up the recorded show from last night and found the part with the thermal image and took a photo with my phone which I'm posting below (the four lights and light rectangles to the upper right of the subject are reflections from my kitchen lights and window). The color fringed white blob to the right is Dr. Mayor and the figure on the left that appears to be partially hidden by a tree is what Ronny is describing to her via walkie talkie. That image appears much hotter on top and cooler yellow below and appears fairly slim. Dr. Mayor is wearing an unzipped insulated jacket and is sitting on the ground. When Ronny is describing his thermal contact he is looking through what I assume are thermal binoculars held to his eyes, but the view we see and I photographed is on a handheld screen like a phone. She is using what appears to be a phone to scan for the object he is describing. I understand how a thermal works but have never used one, so assume the 55 degree F is the ambient temperature. My guess is the figure behind the tree is a crew member due to the color variation. It's entirely possible Dr. Mayor wouldn't be able to see the figure from her position even with an accurate bearing My overall impression of the show is that, in trying to appear as a carefully planned expedition using an advance algorithm to calculate the best spot and time to search, they actually seem to be operating off-the-cuff. The whole "command center" thing with Bryce haring off to visit Jeff Meldrum, visit the wildlife center to see the tiger and interview witnesses seems very forced, almost like an entirely different show. While watching the show last night, I was thinking exactly the same thing that SWWASAS mentioned, he should be using either compass or clock face directions and it should have been planned and understood by all parties from the beginning. I read about half of Ronny's book "Monsterland" but he is so into the high strangeness it finally became tiring, especially his long interview with Mike Patterson (hope I have the name correct for Bigfoot Ontario). I have an open mind (we have had some "interesting" things occur in our home relating to a previous resident who died here) but try to keep whatever brains remain from running out. I've met Russel Accord and he strikes me as solid individual and Bob Gimlin speaks highly of him . IMHO, a much more interesting and effective dynamic would be to team Accord and Dr. Mayor. His woodsmanship and subject knowledge combined with her field experience and scientific background would be interesting and more likely to yield results.

  8. That is right in line with the Sasquatch Genome Project, which both Carpenter and Paulides were a part of...

  9. I see that they took a page out of NAWAC's book with the burr tracker. The thermal hit that was picked up next to Mayor was handled poorly. They show a quick shot of the screen displaying the thermal image, but then immediately cut away. Did the thermal image move away or just disappear? They are all working out of the same clearing, as well as having an unknown number of camera and support crew along with them. Given the number of people in that area, I am not sure about the bipedal thermal image that was picked up at the end of the show. I am going to chalk this up as being a less annoying version of Finding Bigfoot.

  10. Pareidolia is a two way street. You are looking for BF so that stump really jumps out at you. Then you compare, contrast, do not see any movement and finally convince yourself it was a stump. But a non bigfooter could see a motionless BF, who froze because it was caught in the open, and that person would just assume it is a stump because they have seen lots of them. I would bet there are as many instances of bigfoot being assumed to be a stump as there are the other way around..

  11. @norseman Take all of my upvotes! Wish this was pinned for all to read. I'm the same way. I once was 100% convinced I had a buck bedded down just before Dawn not 50 yards from where I had snuck in at dark. Dawn came and it was a log with some branches behind it. My young hunter hands were shaking with buck fever the entire time until....major disappointment!

  12. I'll go with that. Definitely. I've seen one other "critter" myself. Beyond "critters", there may be tech involved, and not ours. I've had some real weird equipment malfunctions. One day both my compass and my gps failed simultaneously. Neither has failed before or since. Another time, early AM on top of a very exposed bare ridge, my electrical equipment .. cell phone, audio recorder, camera, and gps all power cycled "by themselves", one after the other. In neither instance was there a natural or man made source for EMF. I've been to both locations several times since with no issues with the electronics. Someone else might try to ignore it away. I can't. Something happened and I want to know what. I find about as much bigfoot evidence when I'm out chasing the source of those weird things than I do when I'm actually looking for bigfoot. The locations are ... bigfooty. I don't attribute this to bigfoot. It might be a result of something else trying to study bigfoot but that is just a guess. Who/what .. I do not know. 'tis vaguely possible whoever, whatever it is, is also whoever, whatever is responsible for a good number of the Missing 411 cases. When you're out there, keeping your eyes open, look up once in a while, not just ground level. MIB

  14. Well son of a gun, you're right. I didn't see that, but unfortunately, it's no more convincing than any other blobsquatch photo that I've seen. There have been 2 possible, though unconfirmed, sightings within a km of that spot, both seen by clients of Sasquatch Country Adventure Tours, while on ATV tours with either Thomas Steenburg or Bill Miller (BigFootHunter on this forum). The sighting nearest that spot was seen by a 10 yr old girl, with her mother, on tour with Thomas. The sighting was about 500m uphill behind that small lake. By the time she was able to voice her possible sighting, they had gone a few meters past the line of sight, so neither the mother nor Thomas got a look at it, as it had disappeared by the time Thomas could back up to where they could see upslope where she had indicated the creature was. Another client, a middle aged man, had a sighting about a km west of the lake, and again, said nothing until they had passed the spot, thinking that he was being hoaxed. When they had gone some distance past the spot, he realized that neither Thomas nor Bill had mentioned anything, so he spoke up, and they backtracked back to where he said he saw the figure down in a ravine alongside the trail. They all trekked down the steep slope to the bottom, where the figure had stood, but found nothing more than some trampled brush. No tracks or hair were located. That ravine carries a small seasonal creek that feeds the same lake that's in my photo.

  16. I like big bore revolvers. I've owned 35-ish .44 magnums since college, couple .41s, half a dozen .45 Colts, a .454, and a .480. I've put at least 50,000 rounds through my .44 magnums. I have fired the .500 **once**. I didn't like it. It's one I don't think I need. Understand conservation of momentum. When you fire that 500 grain bullet, the rifling rotates it one direction. That means the gun rotates the other. This is true of all rifled barrels, any sort of gun, but the .500 S&W is the only one where I could actually see and feel the gun rotate around the axis of the bore. The porting of the barrel is quite effective in controlling muzzle rise but has no noticeable effect on the "backwards" component of recoil. When I fired, it felt like my wrist, like for a split second, my wrist bones and the hand-ward end of my arm bones were slightly fluid. The gun came back, **hard**, while rotating, and while the porting did its stuff, so the muzzle did a crazy, incredibly fast figure 8 in the air. Like I said, I didn't like it. I handed it back to the owner, said "thanks", and went back to whatever else I was doing. Might be the only handgun I've shot / handled that I have no desire to own. My thought, honestly, is that's a foolish line of thinking: I don't think they are going to do anything that gives you a need to kill them defensively and if you are going on offense, looking to kill one, take a rifle. 17. I do not understand the common wealth. The basic premise of a hand gun is self preservation. It’s a very defensive orientated firearm. So by denying their citizens the right to carry a sidearm is to deny them of the fundamental right for self preservation. Anyhoo.... Ive owned a DE .50 AE. Very powerful, and very heavy. I found it defeating of the idea of a handgun. It rode on my hip on day one. Day two it hung off the saddle horn and by day three it was in a saddle bag. So what was the difference between it and a rifle riding in a scabbard? Zero. A pistol should be small, light and a constant comfortable companion. Like your wallet, watch or car keys. If it’s not? Your gonna find a excuse to leave it behind. If it’s not skookum enough for the job? Bring a long gun. The hot ticket item now is a Glock 10mm. I converted my 1911 to 460 Rowland. I find striker fired plastic pistols to have squishy yucky triggers. My 1911 is crisp and I shoot it better.
